Now
faith is the
assurance
of what
we
hope
for and
the
certainty
of what
we
do
not see.
for
in
this were
the elders
testified
of;
This is
why
the ancients
were
commended.
by faith we understand the ages
to
have
been
prepared
by
a
saying
of
God
, in
regard
to
the
things
seen not having
come
out of things
appearing;
By faith we understand that
the universe
was
formed
at
God’s
command
, so
that
what
is
seen was
not made
out of what
was
visible.
by faith a better sacrifice did
Abel
offer
to
God
than Cain ,
through
which
he was testified
to
be
righteous ,
God testifying
of
his gifts ,
and through
it
, he being
dead ,
doth
yet
speak
.
By faith Abel
offered
God
a better sacrifice than Cain did.
By
faith
he was commended
as
righteous when
God gave
approval
to
his gifts .
And by
faith
he
still
speaks
, even
though
he is
dead.
By faith Enoch was translated
--
not to
see death ,
and
was
not found, because God did
translate
him ;
for before his
translation
he had
been
testified
to
--
that
he had
pleased God well,
By faith Enoch was taken
up
so
that

not see death :
“He

not be
found, because God had

For before he was
taken,

commended
as
one
who
pleased God .
and apart
from
faith it is impossible to please well

behoveth

coming

God

those seeking

rewarder

And without
faith it is impossible to please God
, because
anyone
who approaches
Him
must
believe that He exists
and that
He
rewards
those who
earnestly
seek
Him.

things not yet seen, having
feared,
did
prepare
an ark to the
salvation
of
his house,
through
which
he did
condemn
the world ,
and of the righteousness according
to
faith he
became
heir
.

so
from one man,

as

descendants
as numerous

In
faith
died
all these, not
having received the promises
, but
from
afar
having
seen
them ,
and having
been
persuaded,
and
having
saluted

them ',

confessed
that strangers and sojourners
they
are
upon
the earth ,
All these people
died
in
faith
, without
having received the things
they
were
promised.
However
, they
saw
them and welcomed
them from
afar.
And they
acknowledged
that they
were
strangers and exiles
on
the earth .

those saying
such things make
manifest
that they seek
a country ;
Now
those who
say
such things show
that they are
seeking
a country of
their
own.
and
if ,
indeed,
they had been mindful
of that
from
which
they came
forth
, they might
have had an
opportunity to return ,
If they had been thinking
of the
country

left
, they would
have had opportunity to return .
but
now
they long
for a better ,
that
is
, an
heavenly ,
wherefore
God is not ashamed of
them,
to be called their God, for He did
prepare
for
them
a city.
Instead,
they were
longing
for a better country

heavenly one.

God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has
prepared
a city for
them
.
By faith Abraham hath
offered up Isaac ,
being
tried,
and
the only
begotten
he did
offer
up
who did
receive
the promises,
By faith Abraham ,

was

the altar.
He who had
received
the promises was
ready
to
offer
his
one
and
only
son
,
of
whom

was
said --
`In
Isaac shall

kingdoms, wrought
righteousness,
obtained
promises

mouths of lions,
who through faith conquered
kingdoms, administered
justice
, and
gained
what
was
promised;
who
shut
the
mouths of lions,
quenched the power
of
fire, escaped the mouth
of the sword ,
were
made
powerful
out
of
infirmities
, became strong
in battle, caused
to give
way
camps
of
the
aliens
.
