I
exhort
therefore,
first of all, that supplications
, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings,
be made
for all
men;
First of all, then,
I
urge
that petitions
, prayers, intercessions, and
thanksgiving
be offered
for everyone—
for kings and all that
are
in high
place;
that we may lead a
tranquil and quiet life
in all godliness and gravity
.

in authority—so
that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives
in all godliness and dignity
.
This is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Saviour;
This is good and pleasing
in the sight of God our Savior,
who would
have
all
men
to be saved ,
and come to the knowledge of the truth.

come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, one mediator also
between God and men, `himself'
man ,
Christ Jesus,
For there is one God, and
there
is
one mediator between God and men, the
man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself a ransom for all ;
the testimony `to
be
borne'
in
its
own
times;
who gave Himself as
a ransom for all —
the testimony that
was
given
at
just
the
right
time.
whereunto
I was appointed a preacher and
an apostle (I
speak
the
truth
, I
lie
not),
a teacher of the Gentiles in
faith
and
truth.
For
this
reason
I was appointed as
a preacher ,
an apostle, and
a faithful
and
true
teacher of the Gentiles .
I
am
telling
the
truth ;
I
am
not
lying
about
anything
.
I
desire
therefore that
the men pray in
every
place
, lifting up holy hands, without wrath
and
disputing
.
Therefore I
want
the men everywhere
to
pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger
or
dissension
.
In
like
manner
, that
women adorn themselves in
modest
apparel, with shamefastness
and sobriety;
not with braided hair ,
and
gold or pearls or costly
raiment;
Likewise
, I
want
the
women to
adorn themselves with
respectable
apparel, with modesty,
and with
self-control,
not with braided hair or
gold or pearls or expensive
clothes,
but (which
becometh
women
professing
godliness)
through
good works
.
but with
good deeds,
as
is
proper
for
women
who
profess
to
worship
God
.
Let
a woman learn in quietness with
all
subjection
.
A woman must
learn in quietness and
full
submissiveness
.
But
I permit
not a woman to teach ,
nor
to have
dominion
over a man ,
but
to be
in
quietness
.
I do
not permit
a woman to teach or
to exercise
authority
over a man ;
she
is
to remain
quiet
.
For Adam was first
formed, then Eve ;
For Adam was formed first
, and
then Eve .
and Adam
was not beguiled
, but the woman being
beguiled
hath
fallen
into transgression :
And it
was not Adam
who
was
deceived
, but the woman who
was
deceived
and
fell
into transgression .
but
she
shall
be saved through her
child-bearing
, if they continue in faith and
love and sanctification
with sobriety
.
Women,
however,
will
be saved through childbearing
, if they continue in faith ,
love ,
and holiness,
with self-control
.
