For
the

To
the
tune
of
“The
Lilies
of
the
Covenant.”
A
Psalm
of
Asaph.
Hear
us
, O Shepherd of Israel, who
leads
Joseph like a flock; You
who
sit
enthroned
between
the cherubim, shine forth
Give
ear
, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou
that
leadest
Joseph like a flock; Thou
that
sittest
`above'
the cherubim, shine forth .
before Ephraim ,
Benjamin ,
and Manasseh .
Rally
Your
mighty
power
and come to save us.
Before Ephraim and
Benjamin and Manasseh ,
stir
up
thy
might,
And come to save us.
Restore
us, O God ,
and cause Your
face to shine upon
us
, that
we may
be saved.
Turn
us again
, O God ;
And cause thy
face to shine, and
we shall
be saved.
O LORD
God of Hosts, how long will
Your
anger
smolder
against the prayers
of Your
people?
O Jehovah
God of hosts, How long wilt
thou
be
angry
against the prayer
of thy
people?
You
fed them with the bread of tears and made
them drink the
full
measure of
their
tears
.
Thou
hast
fed them with the bread of tears ,
And given
them tears
to
drink in
large
measure.
You
make
us contend
with
our neighbors; our enemies mock
us
.
Thou
makest
us a
strife
unto
our neighbors; And
our enemies laugh
among
themselves
.
Restore
us, O God of Hosts ,
and cause Your
face to shine upon
us
, that
we may
be saved.
Turn
us again
, O God of hosts ;
And cause thy
face to shine, and
we shall
be saved.
You
uprooted
a vine from
Egypt ;
You
drove
out the nations and transplanted
it.
Thou
broughtest
a vine out
of
Egypt :
Thou
didst
drive
out the nations ,
and plantedst
it.
You
cleared
the
ground
for
it, and it took root and filled the land.
Thou
preparedst
`room'
before
it, And it took deep
root ,
and filled the land.
The mountains were covered by
its
shade
, and the mighty
cedars with
its
branches
.
The mountains were covered with
the
shadow
of
it
, And the boughs
thereof
were
`like'
cedars of
God
.
It sent out its branches to
the Sea, and its shoots toward
the River.
It sent out its branches unto
the sea, And its shoots unto
the River.
Why have
You
broken down its walls, so that all who
pass by pick
its
fruit
?
Why hast
thou
broken down its walls, So that all they
that
pass by the
way
do
pluck
it
?
The boar from
the forest
ravages
it, and the creatures
of the field feed upon
it.
The boar out
of
the wood
doth
ravage
it, And the wild
beasts
of the field feed on
it.
Return
, O God of Hosts ,
we
pray!
Look down from heaven and see!
Attend
to
this vine —
Turn
again
, we
beseech
thee,
O God of hosts :
Look down from heaven ,
and behold,
and
visit
this vine ,
the root
Your
right hand has
planted, the son
You
have
raised
up
for Yourself
.
And
the stock
which
thy
right hand planted, And
the branch
that
thou
madest
strong
for thyself
.
Your
vine
has
been
cut down and
burned;
they perish at the rebuke of Your
countenance.
It
is
burned
with
fire,
it
is
cut down :
They perish at the rebuke of thy
countenance.
Let Your
hand be upon the man at
Your
right hand, on
the son of man You
have
raised
up
for Yourself
.
Let thy
hand be upon the man of
thy
right hand, Upon
the son of man whom
thou
madest
strong
for thyself
.
Then
we will
not turn
away
from You;
revive
us, and we will call on
Your
name.
So
shall
we not go
back
from thee:
Quicken
thou
us, and we will call upon
thy
name.
Restore
us, O LORD
God of Hosts; cause Your
face to shine upon
us
, that
we may
be saved.
Turn
us again
, O Jehovah
God of hosts; Cause thy
face to shine, and
we shall
be saved. Psalm
81
For

the
Gittith.
`A
Psalm'
of
