Why have
nations tumultuously
assembled?
And do
peoples meditate
vanity
?
Why do
the
nations rage
and the
peoples plot
in
vain
?
Station
themselves
do
kings of the earth ,
And princes
have
been
united
together, Against Jehovah,
and against His Messiah
:
The
kings of the earth take
their
stand
and the
rulers
gather
together, against the
LORD
and against His Anointed
One
:
`
Let us draw
off
Their cords,
And cast from
us
Their thick
bands
. '
“
Let us break
Their chains
and cast away
Their cords
. ”
He
who
is
sitting
in
the heavens
doth
laugh,
The Lord doth
mock
at
them.
The One
enthroned
in
heaven
laughs;
the Lord taunts
them.
Then doth
He speak
unto
them in His anger, And in His wrath
He
doth
trouble
them
:
Then He rebukes
them in His anger, and terrifies
them
in His fury
:
`And
I
--
I have anointed
My King, Upon Zion
--
My holy hill
. '
“
I have installed
My King on
Zion
, upon My holy mountain
. ”
I declare
concerning
a
statute:
Jehovah
said
unto
me ,
`
My Son Thou
`art',
I to-day
have brought
thee
forth
.
I will
proclaim
the
decree
spoken
to
Me by
the
LORD:
“You
are
My Son ;
today
I have become
Your
Father
.
Ask of
Me and I give
nations --
thy
inheritance, And
thy
possession
--
the ends of earth.
Ask Me ,
and I will
make
the
nations Your
inheritance, the ends of the
earth Your
possession
.
Thou
dost
rule
them with a
sceptre
of
iron ,
As
a
vessel
of
a
potter
Thou
dost
crush
them. '
You
will
break
them with an
iron scepter;
You
will
shatter
them like
pottery
. ”
And
now
, O kings ,
act
wisely,
Be instructed
, O judges of earth ,
Therefore
be
wise
, O kings ;
be admonished
, O judges of the
earth .
Serve ye
Jehovah
with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
Serve the
LORD
with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Chosen
One
, lest He be angry ,
And ye
lose
the
way
, When His anger
burneth
but
a
little,
O
the
happiness
of
all trusting
in Him !
Kiss the Son
, lest He be angry and you
perish
in
your
rebellion
, when His wrath
ignites
in
an
instant.
Blessed
are
all who
take
refuge
in Him .
