Why do
the
nations rage
and the
peoples plot
in
vain
?
Why have
nations tumultuously
assembled?
And do
peoples meditate
vanity
?
The
kings of the earth take
their
stand
and the
rulers
gather
together, against the
LORD
and against His Anointed
One
:
Station
themselves
do
kings of the earth ,
And princes
have
been
united
together, Against Jehovah,
and against His Messiah
:
“
Let us break
Their chains
and cast away
Their cords
. ”
`
Let us draw
off
Their cords,
And cast from
us
Their thick
bands
. '
The
One
enthroned
in heaven
laughs;
the Lord taunts
them.
He
who
is
sitting
in the heavens
doth
laugh,
The
Lord doth
mock
at
them.
Then He rebukes
them in His anger, and terrifies
them
in His fury
:
Then doth
He speak
unto
them in His anger, And in His wrath
He
doth
trouble
them
:
“
I have installed
My King on
Zion
, upon My holy mountain
. ”
`And
I --
I
have anointed
My King, Upon Zion
--
My holy hill
. '
I will
proclaim
the
decree
spoken
to
Me
by
the
LORD
: “You
are
My Son ;
today
I have become
Your
Father
.
I declare
concerning
a
statute
: Jehovah
said
unto
me,
`
My Son Thou
`art',
I to-day
have brought
thee
forth
.
Ask Me ,
and I will
make
the
nations Your
inheritance, the ends of the
earth Your
possession
.
Ask of
Me and I give
nations --
thy
inheritance, And
thy
possession
--
the ends of earth.
You
will
break
them with an
iron scepter;
You
will
shatter
them like
pottery
. ”
Thou
dost
rule
them with a
sceptre
of
iron ,
As
a
vessel
of
a
potter
Thou
dost
crush
them. '
Therefore
be
wise
, O kings ;
be admonished
, O judges of the
earth .
And
now
, O kings ,
act
wisely,
Be instructed
, O judges of earth ,
Serve the
LORD
with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Serve ye
Jehovah
with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son
, lest He be angry and you
perish
in
your
rebellion
, when His wrath
ignites
in
an
instant.
Blessed
are
all who
take
refuge
in Him .
Kiss the Chosen
One
, lest He be angry ,
And ye
lose
the
way
, When His anger
burneth
but
a
little,
O
the
happiness
of
all trusting
in Him !
