the
LORD,
for He is good; His loving
devotion
endures

give thanks unto
Jehovah;
For he is good; For
his lovingkindness

Let the redeemed of the
LORD
say so, whom He has
redeemed from the hand of the enemy
Let the redeemed of Jehovah
say `
so '
, Whom he hath
redeemed from the hand of the adversary,
and gathered from
the lands, from east and west, from north and south.
And gathered out
of
the lands, From the
east and from
the
west, From the
north and from
the
south.
Some
wandered in desert wastelands,
finding
no path
to
a
city in
which
to
dwell
.
They
wandered in the
wilderness
in
a
desert way;
They
found
no city of
habitation
.
They
were
hungry and thirsty ;
their soul fainted within
them.
Hungry and thirsty ,

Then they cried out
to
the
LORD
in their trouble, and He delivered them from
their distress.
Then they cried unto
Jehovah
in their trouble, And he delivered them out
of
their distresses,
He led them on
a straight path
to reach
a city where
they
could
live
.

That
they
might
go
to a city of
habitation
.
Let
them
give
thanks
to
the
LORD
for His loving
devotion
and His wonders
to the sons
of men .
Oh
that
men
would
praise
Jehovah
for his lovingkindness,
And for
his wonderful
works
to the children
of men !
For He satisfies
the thirsty
and fills
the hungry with good things
.
For he satisfieth
the longing
soul,
And the hungry soul
he
filleth
with good.
Some
sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners
in affliction and chains
,
Such
as
sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being
bound
in affliction and iron
,
because they rebelled against the words of God and despised
the counsel of the Most High .

He humbled

the gates of bronze
and cut through
the bars of iron.
For he hath
broken the gates of brass,

Fools ,
in
their rebellious
ways
, and through
their iniquities, suffered
affliction
.
Fools because
of
their transgression
, And because
of
their iniquities, are
afflicted
.
They
loathed
all food and drew
near to
the gates of death.
Their
soul
abhorreth
all manner
of
food ;
And they
draw
near unto
the gates of death.
Then they cried
out
to
the
LORD
in their trouble, and He saved
them from
their distress
.
Then they cry
unto
Jehovah
in their trouble, And he saveth
them out
of
their distresses
.
He sent
forth
His word and healed
them ;
He
rescued
them from the
Pit
.
He sendeth
his word ,
and healeth
them ,
And
delivereth
`
them '
from their
destructions
.
Let
them
give
thanks
to
the
LORD
for His loving
devotion
and His wonders
to the sons
of men .
Oh
that
men
would
praise
Jehovah
for his lovingkindness,
And for
his wonderful
works
to the children
of men !
Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing
.
And
let them offer the
sacrifices of thanksgiving ,
And declare his works with singing
.
Others
went
out
to sea in ships, conducting
trade
on
the
mighty
waters .
They
that
go
down
to the
sea in ships, That
do
business
in
great
waters ;
They
saw
the works of the
LORD
, and His wonders in the deep.
These
see
the works of Jehovah
, And his wonders in the deep.
For He spoke
and raised
a
tempest
that
lifted
the waves
of
the sea
.
For he commandeth,
and raiseth
the stormy
wind,
Which
lifteth
up
the waves
thereof
.
They mounted
up to the heavens, then
sunk
to the depths ;
their
courage
melted
in
their anguish
.
They mount
up to the heavens, they
go
down
again
to the depths :
Their soul
melteth
away
because
of
trouble
.
They reeled
and staggered
like drunkards
, and all
their skill
was
useless
.
They reel
to
and fro,
and
stagger
like a
drunken
man

at
their wits'
end

to

LORD
in their trouble, and He brought
them out of their distress
.
Then they cry

Jehovah
in their trouble, And he bringeth
them out of their distresses
.
He calmed
the storm to
a whisper
, and
the waves of
the
sea
were
hushed
.
He maketh
the storm a calm
, So
that
the waves thereof
are
still
.
They rejoiced
in
the
silence,
and
He guided
them to
the
harbor
they
desired.
Then
are
they glad
because
they
are
quiet;
So
he bringeth
them unto
their
desired haven
.
Let
them
give
thanks
to
the
LORD
for His loving
devotion
and His wonders
to the sons
of men .
Oh
that
men
would
praise
Jehovah
for his lovingkindness,
And for
his wonderful
works
to the children
of men !
Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the council
of the elders.
Let them exalt him also
in the assembly of the people ,
And praise him in the seat
of the elders.
He turns
rivers into deserts
, springs
of
water
into thirsty ground ,
He turneth
rivers into a
wilderness
, And
watersprings
into a
thirsty ground ;
and
fruitful land into fields
of
salt, because
of
the wickedness of its
dwellers
.
A
fruitful land into a
salt desert
, For
the wickedness of them
that
dwell
therein
.
He turns
a desert
into pools
of water and a dry land into flowing
springs
.
He turneth
a wilderness
into a
pool
of water ,
And a dry land into watersprings
.
He causes
the hungry to settle
there
, that they may establish
a city in
which
to
dwell.
And
there
he maketh
the hungry to dwell
, That they may prepare
a city of
habitation,
They
sow fields and plant vineyards that
yield
a
fruitful
harvest
.
And

get
them
fruits
of
increase
.
He blesses
them, and
they multiply
greatly; He does
not let
their herds
diminish
.
He blesseth
them also
, so
that
they are
multiplied
greatly; And
he suffereth
not their cattle
to
decrease
.
When
they are decreased
and humbled
by
oppression, evil
, and sorrow ,
Again,
they are diminished
and bowed
down
Through
oppression, trouble
, and sorrow .
He pours
out
contempt on
the
nobles
and makes
them wander in a
trackless
wasteland
.
He poureth
contempt upon
princes,
And causeth
them to
wander in the
waste,
where
there
is
no
way
.
But
He lifts
the needy from affliction and increases
their
families like flocks
.
Yet
setteth
he the needy on
high
from affliction ,
And maketh
`him'
families like a
flock
.
The upright see and
rejoice
, and all iniquity shuts
its
mouth.
The upright shall
see it
, and be
glad;
And
all iniquity shall
stop
her
mouth.
Let
him
who
is wise pay
heed to these things and consider the loving
devotion
of the
LORD
.
Whoso
is wise will
give
heed to these things ;
And they
will
consider the lovingkindnesses
of Jehovah
