Yahweh
spoke
to Moses, saying,
Then
the
LORD
said
to Moses,
Make you
two trumpets of silver ;
of
beaten
work
shall
you
make
them:
and
you
shall
use
them
for the
calling of
the congregation ,
and for the
journeying
of
the camps.
“
Make two trumpets of hammered
silver to
be
used
for calling the congregation and for having
the camps set
out
.
When they
shall
blow
them
, all
the congregation shall
gather
themselves
to you at the door
of
the tent of meeting.
When both
are
sounded
, the whole
congregation is
to assemble
before
you at the entrance
to
the Tent of Meeting.
If
they
blow
but one, then the princes
, the heads of the thousands
of Israel, shall
gather
themselves
to you.
But if
only
one is
sounded
, then the leaders
, the heads of the clans
of Israel, are
to gather
before
you.
When you blow
an
alarm
, the camps that lie on the east side shall
take
their
journey
.
When you sound
short
blasts
, the camps that lie on the east side are
to
set
out
.
When you blow
an
alarm
the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall
take
their
journey:
they
shall
blow
an
alarm
for
their
journeys
.
When you sound
the short
blasts
a
second time, the camps that lie on the south side are
to
set
out
. The
blasts
are
to
signal
them
to
set
out.
But
when
the assembly is
to
be
gathered
together
, you shall
blow
, but
you
shall
not sound
an
alarm
.
To
convene
the assembly, you are
to
sound
long
blasts
, not short
ones
.
The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall
blow
the trumpets ;
and
they
shall be to
you
for
a statute forever
throughout
your
generations.
The sons of Aaron, the priests, are
to
sound
the trumpets .
This
shall be a permanent
statute for
you
and
the
generations to
come
.
When you go
to
war
in your land against the
adversary who oppresses
you, then
you
shall
sound an
alarm
with
the trumpets ;
and you shall
be remembered before Yahweh
your God ,
and you
shall
be
saved from your enemies.
When you enter
into
battle
in your land against an
adversary who attacks
you, sound short
blasts
on
the trumpets ,
and you will
be remembered before the
LORD
your God and saved from your enemies.
Also
in
the
day
of
your gladness
, and
in
your set
feasts, and in
the beginnings
of your
months
, you shall
blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings ,
and over
the
sacrifices
of
your
peace-
offerings ;
and
they
shall
be
to you
for
a memorial
before your God :
I am Yahweh
your God.
And
on
your joyous
occasions
, your appointed
feasts, and the beginning
of each
month
, you are
to
blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship
offerings to serve
as
a reminder
for
you
before your God .
I am the
LORD
your God. ”
It
happened
in
the
second

up

and
[

set up the

against
their coming
.
Then
the Kohathites set out
, transporting
the holy
objects;
the tabernacle
was
to
be
set up before
their arrival

Thus
were
the travels
of the children
of
Israel
according
to
their
hosts;
and
they set forward
.
This
was
the order
of march
for
the Israelite
divisions
as
they set out
.
Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel
the
Midianite,
Moses '
father-in-law, We are journeying
to
the place of which Yahweh
said ,
I will give it you :
come you
with us, and we will do
you good;
for Yahweh
has spoken
good concerning
Israel.
Then
Moses said to Hobab, the son of Moses ’
father-in-law Reuel
the
Midianite
, “
We are setting
out
for
the place of which the
LORD
said :
‘
I will give it to
you .’
Come with us, and we will treat
you well,
for the
LORD
has promised
good things
to
Israel. ”
He
said
to
him,
I will not go ;
but
I will
depart
to my own land ,
and to
my relatives
.
“
I will not go ,”
Hobab
replied.
“Instead,
I am
going
back
to my own land and my own
people
. ”
He
said,
Don't
leave us, please;
because
you know how
we are
to
encamp
in the wilderness, and you shall
be
to
us
instead
of
eyes.
“Please
do
not
leave us, ”
Moses
said,
“since
you know where
we should
camp
in the wilderness, and you can
serve
as
our
eyes.
It
shall
be,
if you go
with us, yes,
it
shall
be,
that
whatever good Yahweh
shall
do
to
us,
the same
will
we
do
to
you
.
If you come
with us, we
will
share
with
you
whatever good things
the LORD
gives
us
. ”
They set forward
from the Mount
of Yahweh
three
days'
journey;
and
the ark of the covenant of Yahweh
went
before
them three days '
journey,
to seek out
a resting -
place for them.
So
they set out
on
a
three-day
journey
from the mountain
of the LORD,
with
the
ark of the covenant of the
LORD
traveling
ahead
of
them for
those
three days to seek a resting place for them.
The cloud of Yahweh
was over them by day ,
when they set forward
from the camp.
And
the cloud of the
LORD
was over them by day when they set out
from the camp.
It
happened,
when
the ark set forward
, that
Moses said
, Rise up, Yahweh,
and
let
your enemies be scattered; and
let
those who hate you flee before you.
Whenever
the ark set out
, Moses would
say
, “
Rise up, O
LORD!
May
Your enemies be scattered; may
those who hate You flee before You. ”
When it rested
, he said,
Return, Yahweh
, to the ten
thousands
of
the
thousands of Israel.
And
when it came
to
rest
, he would
say:
“
Return, O
LORD
, to the countless
thousands of Israel. ”
