from Abraham unto

the Babylonian
removal
fourteen generations ,
and from the Babylonian

unto the
Christ ,
fourteen generations.
Now
the
birth
of Jesus Christ was on
this
wise
: When
as
his mother Mary was
espoused
to Joseph, before they
came
together ,
she was found with
child
of
the Holy Ghost.
And
of Jesus Christ ,
the
birth
was thus
: For
his mother Mary having
been
betrothed
to Joseph, before their
coming
together she was found to
have
conceived
from
the Holy Spirit,
Then
Joseph her husband ,
being a
just
man
, and not willing to make her a
publick
example, was
minded
to put
her away privily
.
and
Joseph her husband being righteous
, and not willing to make her an
example, did
wish
privately
to send
her away.
But
while
he
thought
on these things, behold
, the
angel
of the LORD appeared
unto
him
in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou
son of David, fear
not to take
unto
thee
Mary thy wife :
for that which is
conceived
in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And
on his
thinking
of
these things, lo
, a
messenger
of the Lord in a dream appeared
to
him
, saying, `
Joseph, son of David, thou
mayest
not fear
to receive
Mary thy wife ,
for that which in her was
begotten
`
is '
of the Holy Spirit,
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS :
for he shall save his people from their sins.
and she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus ,
for he shall save his people from their sins. '
Now
all this was
done
, that it might
be fulfilled which
was spoken of
the Lord by
the prophet, saying,
And
all this hath
come
to
pass
, that it may
be fulfilled that
was spoken by
the Lord through
the prophet, saying,
Behold
, a
virgin shall be
with
child
, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being
interpreted
is, God
with us.
`Lo
, the
virgin shall conceive
, and she
shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, '
which is, being
interpreted
`
With us `he
is'
God
. '
Then
Joseph being
raised
from sleep did as the angel
of the Lord had
bidden
him, and took
unto
him
his wife :
And
Joseph ,
having
risen
from the
sleep ,
did as the messenger
of the Lord directed
him, and received
his wife ,
And knew
her
not till she had
brought forth her firstborn
son :
and he called his name JESUS.
and did
not know
her
till she brought forth her son --
the
first-born,
and he called his name Jesus.
