Berean Standard Bible
The whole earth
was
of
one language and of one
speech.
Now
the whole world
had
one language and a
common
form
of speech.
It
happened,
as they
traveled
east
, that
they found a plain in the land of Shinar ;
and they
lived
there.
And
as people
journeyed
eastward
, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled
there.
They said one
to another, "
Come, let's
make brick,
and burn
them thoroughly. "
They had
brick for
stone, and they
used
tar for
mortar.
And
they said to one
another, “
Come, let
us
make bricks
and bake
them thoroughly. ”
So
they used
brick instead
of
stone, and tar instead
of
mortar.
They said, "Come,
let's
build
us a city ,
and
a tower ,
whose
top
reaches to the sky
, and
let's
make us
a name ;
lest
we
be scattered abroad
on
the surface
of the whole
earth. "
“Come,”
they said, “let
us build
for
ourselves
a city with
a tower that
reaches to the heavens
, that
we
may
make a name for
ourselves
and
not
be scattered over
the face
of all
the earth. ”
Yahweh
came down to see the city and the tower ,
which
the children
of men built
.
Then
the
LORD
came down to see the city and the tower that
the sons
of men were
building
.
Yahweh
said, "Behold,
they
are
one
people,
and
they have all
one
language;
and
this
is
what
they
begin
to do .
Now
nothing will be withheld
from
them ,
which
they
intend
to
do
.
And
the
LORD
said, “If
they have begun
to do this
as
one
people
speaking
the
same
language,
then
nothing they
devise
will be beyond
them.
Come, let's
go down ,
and there
confuse their language, that they may
not understand one another's
speech. "
Come, let
Us
go down and confuse their language, so
that they will
not understand one another’s
speech. ”
So Yahweh
scattered them abroad
from there on
the surface
of all the earth .
They stopped building the city.
So the
LORD
scattered them from there over
the face
of all the earth ,
and
they stopped building the city.
Therefore
the
name
of
it was
called Babel, because
Yahweh
confused the language of all
the earth
, there.
From there,
Yahweh
scattered them abroad
on
the surface
of all the earth.
That
is
why
it is
called Babel, for
there
the
LORD
confused the language of the whole
world
, and
from that
place
the
LORD
scattered them over
the face
of all the earth.

Peleg lived
thirty
years, and
became the father of Reu.
When
Peleg was
30
years old
, he
became the father of Reu.
Peleg
lived
after he became
the father of Reu two
hundred
nine
years
, and became
the
father
of
sons and daughters.
And
after he had
become
the father of Reu, Peleg
lived
209
years
and had
other
sons and daughters.
Reu lived
thirty-two
years, and
became the father of Serug.
When
Reu was
32
years old
, he
became the father of Serug.
Reu
lived
after he became
the father of Serug two
hundred
seven
years
, and became
the
father
of
sons and daughters.
And
after he had
become
the father of Serug, Reu
lived
207
years
and had
other
sons and daughters.

thirty
years, and
became the father of Nahor.
When

, he

hundred
years

the father of Terah one
hundred
nineteen

, and became
the
father
of
sons and daughters.
And
after he had
become
the father of Terah, Nahor
lived

and had
other
sons and daughters.

seventy
years, and
became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
When
Terah was
70
years old
, he
became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
Now
this is the history
of
the
generations
of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.
This is the account
of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And
Haran became the father of Lot.
Haran
died
before
his father Terah
in the
land
of
his birth
, in Ur of the Chaldees
.
During
his father Terah’s
lifetime,
Haran
died
in his native
land
, in Ur of the Chaldeans
.
Abram and Nahor took wives. The
name
of
Abram's
wife was Sarai, and the
name
of
Nahor's
wife ,
Milcah ,
the daughter of Haran who was also
the father of Iscah.
And
Abram and Nahor took wives for
themselves
. Abram’s
wife was named
Sarai, and Nahor’s
wife was
named
Milcah ;
she
was
the daughter of Haran ,
who was the father of both
Milcah
and
Iscah.
Sarai was barren .
She had no child
.
But
Sarai was barren ;
she had no children
.
Terah took Abram
his son, Lot the
son of Haran, his
son's
son,
and Sarai
his daughter-in-law ,
his
son
Abram's
wife .
They went
forth
from Ur of the Chaldees,
to
go
into
the land of Canaan. They came
to
Haran, and
lived
there.
And
Terah took his son Abram
, his
grandson
Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai
the
wife of
Abram,
and
they set
out
from Ur of the Chaldeans
