Some
men came down from Judea
and
taught the brothers
, "Unless
you
are
circumcised after the custom
of Moses, you
can't
be saved. "
And
certain
men which
came down from Judaea
taught the brethren
, and
said,
Except
ye
be
circumcised after the manner
of Moses, ye
cannot
be saved.
Therefore
when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord
and discussion
with them, they appointed
Paul and Barnabas, and some
others
of them, to
go up to Jerusalem to
the apostles and elders about this question.
When therefore
Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension
and disputation
with them, they determined
that
Paul and Barnabas, and certain
other
of them, should
go up to Jerusalem unto
the apostles and elders about this question.
They,
being sent
on their way by the assembly
, passed through both
Phoenicia
and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles .
They caused great joy to
all the brothers
.
And
being brought
on their way by the church
, they
passed through Phenice
and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles :
and
they caused great joy unto
all the brethren
.
When they had
come to Jerusalem, they were received by
the assembly
and the apostles and the
elders, and they reported
all things that God had done with them.
And

the apostles and elders, and they declared
all things that God had done with them.
But some
of the sect of the Pharisees who
believed rose
up
, saying, "
It is
necessary
to circumcise them, and to charge
them to keep the law of Moses. "
But there
rose
up
certain
of the sect of the Pharisees which
believed, saying, That
it was
needful
to circumcise them, and to command
them to keep the law of Moses.
The apostles and the
elders were
gathered
together to see
about
this matter.
And
the apostles and elders came
together for
to consider
of
this matter.
When there had been much discussion
, Peter rose up and said to
them, "Brothers
, you
know that a good while ago God made choice among you
, that by my mouth the
Gentiles
should hear the word of the Gospel, and believe.
And
when there had been much disputing
, Peter rose up ,
and said unto
them, Men
and
brethren
, ye
know how
that a good while ago God made choice among us
, that the
Gentiles
by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
God, who
knows
the heart
, testified
about
them, giving them the Holy Spirit
, just
like
he did to
us .
And
God, which
knoweth
the hearts
, bare
them witness
, giving them the Holy Ghost
, even
as
he did unto
us ;
He
made
no distinction
between us and them, cleansing
their hearts by faith.
And
put
no difference
between us and them, purifying
their hearts by faith.
Now therefore why do
you
tempt God, that
you
should
put a yoke on
the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Now therefore why tempt ye
God, to
put a yoke upon
the neck of the disciples ,
which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
But we believe that we
are
saved
through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just
as they are
. "
But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ
we
shall
be
saved
, even
as they.
All the multitude kept silence, and they
listened
to Barnabas and Paul reporting
what signs
and wonders God had done
among the Gentiles through
them.
Then
all the multitude kept silence, and gave
audience
to Barnabas and Paul ,
declaring
what miracles
and wonders God had wrought
among the Gentiles by
them.
After they were
silent
, James answered, "Brothers
, listen
to
me .
And
after they had
held
their
peace
, James answered, saying
, Men

brethren,
hearken
unto
me :
Simeon has
reported
how God first visited
the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
Simeon hath
declared
how God at
the
first did
visit

This agrees

the words of the prophets .
As it is written,

to
this agree
the words of the prophets ;

'
After these
things
I will return .

will again
build the tent
of David, which has
fallen .

ruins .
I will set it up ,

and
will build again
the tabernacle
of David, which is
fallen down;
and

ruins thereof,

I will set it up :
That the rest
of men may
seek after the Lord ;
All the Gentiles who
are
called
by
my name, Says
the Lord, who does
all these things.
That the residue
of men might
seek after the Lord ,
and
all the Gentiles ,
upon
whom
my name is
called
, saith
the Lord, who doeth
all these things.
All his works are
known
to
God
from eternity
. '
Known
unto
God
are
all his works from the
beginning
of
the
world
.
"Therefore
my judgment
is that we don't
trouble those
from among the Gentiles who
turn
to God ,
Wherefore
my sentence
is ,
that we trouble not
them,
which
from among the Gentiles are
turned
to God :
but that we write to
them that they abstain from the
pollution
of idols, from sexual
immorality
, from what
is
strangled, and from blood.
But that we write unto
them ,
that they abstain from pollutions
of idols, and
from fornication
, and
from things
strangled, and from blood.
For Moses from
generations
of old has
in every city those
who
preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath. "

Then it seemed
good
to
the apostles and the
elders ,
with the whole assembly
, to choose
men out
of their company ,
and
send
them
to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas :
Judas

Then pleased
it the apostles and elders with the whole church
, to send
chosen
men of their own
company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas ;
namely
, Judas
surnamed
Barsabas
and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
They wrote these
things
by their
hand:
"
The apostles ,
the
elders ,
and the
brothers,
to
the brothers
who
are of the Gentiles in Antioch ,
Syria ,
and Cilicia :
greetings
.
And
they wrote letters
by them
after
this
manner;
The apostles and
elders and brethren
send
greeting
unto
the brethren
which
are of the Gentiles in Antioch and
Syria and Cilicia.
Because
we have heard that some
who
went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling
your souls, saying, 'You
must be circumcised and keep the law ,'
to whom we gave no commandment ;
Forasmuch
as
we have heard ,
that certain
which
went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting
your souls, saying, Ye
must be circumcised ,
and keep the law :
to whom we gave no such
commandment :
it seemed good to
us, having
come
to
one accord, to choose
out
men
and
send them
to
you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
It seemed good unto
us, being
assembled
with
one accord, to send chosen
men
unto
you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
men who
have risked
their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Men that
have hazarded
their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves
will
also tell you the same things by word
of
mouth.

For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit
, and to us, to lay no greater burden on
you
than these necessary things :

the encouragement

when they had read, they rejoiced for
the consolation
.
Judas and Silas, also
being prophets themselves, encouraged
the brothers
with many words, and strengthened
them.

the brethren
with many words, and confirmed
them.
After they had spent
some
time
there, they were sent
back
with
greetings
from the brothers
to
the apostles.
And
after they had tarried
there a

that

a
good idea
to take with them someone
who had
withdrawn
from them in
Pamphylia, and didn't
go
with them to do
the work.
But Paul thought
not
good to take him
with them ,
who departed
from them from
Pamphylia, and went
not
with them to the work.
Then
the contention grew
so sharp that they separated
from each
other .
Barnabas took Mark with
him
, and sailed away
to
Cyprus ,
And
the contention was
so sharp between
them,
that they departed
asunder
one
from the
other :
and
so
Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto
Cyprus ;
but
Paul chose Silas, and went
out
, being commended
by the brothers
to
the grace of God.
And
Paul chose Silas, and departed
, being recommended
by the brethren
unto
the grace of God.
He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening
the assemblies
.
And
he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming
the churches
.
