Remind the
believers
to submit
to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and
ready for every good work,
Remind them
to be
in
subjection
to rulers and to
authorities, to be obedient ,
to
be
ready for every good work,
to malign
no one, and
to be peaceable
and
gentle, showing full
consideration
to
everyone
.
to speak
evil
of
no one, not
to be contentious,
to
be
gentle, showing all
humility
toward
all
men
.
For at
one
time
we too
were foolish, disobedient, misled
, and
enslaved
to
all
sorts
of
desires
and pleasures —
living in malice and envy, being
hated
and hating one another.
For we were also
once
foolish, disobedient, deceived
, serving
various
lusts
and pleasures ,
living in malice and envy, hateful,
and hating one another.
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for
mankind appeared,
But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward
mankind appeared,
He
saved
us,
not by the
righteous
deeds
we had
done
, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new
birth
and renewal
by the Holy Spirit .
not by works
of
righteousness,
which
we did
ourselves
, but according to his mercy, he
saved
us,
through the washing of regeneration
and renewing
by the Holy Spirit ,
This
is
the
Spirit
He poured out on us abundantly
through Jesus Christ our Savior ,
which
he poured out on us richly,
through Jesus Christ our Savior ;
so
that, having
been
justified by His grace, we would
become
heirs with
the hope of eternal life.
that, being
justified by his grace, we might
be
made
heirs according
to
the hope of eternal life.
This saying is trustworthy.
And I
want
you
to
emphasize
these things, so that those who have believed God will
take
care
to
devote
themselves
to good deeds
. These things are excellent
and profitable for
the
people.
This saying is faithful,
and concerning
these things I
desire
that
you
affirm
confidently
, so that those who have believed God may
be
careful
to maintain
good works
. These things are good
and profitable to
men;
But avoid
foolish controversies
, genealogies, arguments
, and quarrels
about the law ,
because
these
things
are pointless
and worthless
.
but shun
foolish questionings
, genealogies, strife
, and disputes
about the law ;
for
they
are unprofitable
and vain
.
Reject
a divisive
man after a first and second admonition,
Avoid
a factious
man after a first and second warning;
knowing that such a man
is corrupt
and sinful;
he
is
self-condemned.
knowing that such a one
is perverted,
and sins,
being
self-condemned.
As
soon
as
I send Artemas or
Tychicus
to you, make
every
effort
to come to me at
Nicopolis, because
I have decided
to winter there.
When
I send Artemas to you, or
Tychicus,
be
diligent
to come to me to
Nicopolis, for
I have determined
to winter there.
Do
your
best
to
equip
Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, so
that they
will
have
everything
they
need
.
Send
Zenas ,
the lawyer ,
and Apollos on
their
journey
speedily
, that nothing
may
be
lacking
for
them
.
And
our people must
also learn to devote
themselves
to
good works in
order
to
meet
the
pressing
needs
of
others
, so
that they will
not be unfruitful.
Let
our people also learn to maintain
good works for
necessary
uses
, that they may
not be unfruitful.
All who are with me send
you greetings
. Greet those who love us in the
faith. Grace be with all
of
you.
All who are with me greet
you. Greet those who love us in faith. Grace be with you all
. Amen.
