Berean Standard Bible
But speak thou
the things which
befit
the
sound doctrine :
But as
for
you,
speak the things that
are
consistent
with
sound doctrine .
that
aged
men be temperate, grave
, sober
- minded
, sound in faith, in
love, in
patience:
Older
men are
to
be temperate, dignified
, self
- controlled
, and
sound in faith, love, and
perseverance.
that
aged
women likewise be reverent in demeanor
, not slanderers nor
enslaved
to much wine, teachers of that
which
is
good ;
Older
women ,
likewise ,
are
to
be reverent in their
behavior
, not slanderers or
addicted
to much wine, but
teachers of good .
that
they may
train the young women to love their husbands ,
to
love
their
children,
In
this
way
they can
train the young women to love their husbands and
children,
`
to be '
sober
- minded
, chaste
, workers
at
home
, kind, being
in
subjection
to their own husbands, that the word of God be
not blasphemed:
to be self
- controlled
, pure
, managers
of
their
households
, kind, and
submissive
to their own husbands, so
that the word of God will
not be
discredited.
the younger men likewise
exhort
to be sober
- minded:
In
the same
way,
urge
the
younger men to be self
- controlled.
in all
things
showing
thyself
an ensample
of
good works ;
in thy
doctrine
`showing'
uncorruptness
, gravity
,
In everything,
show
yourself
to
be
an example
by
doing
good works .
In your
teaching
show
integrity
, dignity
,
sound
speech ,
that cannot
be
condemned;
that
he
that
is of
the
contrary
part
may
be ashamed ,
having
no
evil
thing
to say of
us.
and
wholesome
speech that is above
reproach,
so
that
anyone
who
opposes
us
will
be ashamed to have
nothing
bad
to
say about
us.
`Exhort'
servants
to be
in
subjection
to their own masters, `and'
to be well-pleasing `to
them'
in
all
things;
not gainsaying;
Slaves
are
to submit
to their own masters in
everything
, to be well-pleasing ,
not argumentative,
not purloining
, but showing all good fidelity;
that they may
adorn the doctrine
of
God our Saviour
in
all
things
.
not stealing
from
them
, but showing all good faith,
so
that in
every
respect
they will
adorn the teaching
about
God our Savior
.
For the grace of God hath
appeared, bringing salvation to all
men,
For the grace of God has
appeared, bringing salvation to everyone.
instructing
us ,
to the
intent
that,
denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts
, we
should
live
soberly
and righteously
and godly in this
present world;
It
instructs
us to renounce
ungodliness and worldly passions
, and to
live
sensible,
upright,
and godly lives
in the
present age,
looking
for
the blessed hope and appearing
of
the
glory
of the
great God and our
Saviour
Jesus Christ ;
as
we
await
the blessed hope and glorious
appearance
of our
great God and Savior
Jesus Christ .
who
gave himself for us ,
that
he
might
redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto
himself a people for his own possession, zealous of
good works
.
He
gave Himself for us to
redeem us from all lawlessness
and to
purify for
Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for
good deeds
.
These things speak
and
exhort
and reprove
with all authority. Let no man
despise thee
.
Speak
these things as
you
encourage
and rebuke
with all authority. Let no one
despise you
.
