Berean Standard Bible
What shall we say then
? Shall we continue in sin ,
that grace may abound
?
What then
shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so
that grace may increase
?
May
it
never
be
! We who died to sin ,
how
could
we
live in it any longer?
Certainly
not
! How
can
we who died to sin live in it any longer?
Or don't
you know
that all we
who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Or aren’t
you aware
that all of
us
who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
We were buried
therefore with him through baptism to
death, that just like
Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so
we also
might
walk in newness of life.
We were therefore buried
with Him through baptism into
death, in
order
that ,
just as
Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too
may
walk in newness of life.
For if we have become
united with him in the
likeness
of
his death, we will also be part
of
his resurrection ;
For if we have been
united with Him like
this
in His death, we will certainly
also be united
with
Him
in
His resurrection .
knowing
this,
that our old man
was crucified with him ,
that the body of sin might be done
away
with
, so
that we would
no longer be in
bondage
to sin.
We
know
that our old self
was crucified with Him so
that the body of sin might be rendered
powerless
, that we should
no longer be slaves
to sin.
For he
who has died has been freed from sin.
For anyone
who has died has been freed from sin.
But
if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him ;
Now
if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him .
knowing
that Christ ,
being
raised from the dead, dies
no
more.
Death no more
has dominion over him !
For
we
know
that since
Christ was
raised from the dead, He
cannot
die
again;
death no longer
has dominion over Him .
For
the death that
he died, he died to sin one
time
; but the life that
he lives, he lives to God.
The death He died, He died to sin once
for
all
; but the life He lives, He lives to God.
Thus
also
consider
yourselves also
to
be
dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our
Lord
.
So
you
too
must
count
yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Therefore don't
let sin reign in your mortal body ,
that you should
obey it
in
its lusts
.
Therefore do
not
let sin reign in your mortal body so
that you obey its desires
.
Neither
present your members
to sin as instruments of unrighteousness
, but present yourselves to God ,
as alive
from the
dead,
and your members
as instruments of righteousness to
God
.
Do
not
present the
parts
of
your body
to sin as instruments of wickedness
, but present yourselves to God as those
who
have
been
brought
from death
to
life;
and present
the
parts
of
your body
to
Him
as instruments of righteousness.
For sin will
not have
dominion
over
you.
For
you are not under law, but under grace.
For sin shall
not be
your
master,
because
you are not under law, but under grace.
What then? Shall we sin ,
because we are not under law, but under grace? May
it
never
be
!
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly
not
!
Don't
you know that to
whom
you present
yourselves as servants
to
obedience
, his
servants
you are whom
you obey ;
whether of
sin to death, or of
obedience to righteousness?
Do
you not
know that when
you offer
yourselves as obedient
slaves
, you are slaves
to
the
one
you obey ,
whether you
are
slaves
to
sin leading
to death, or to
obedience leading
to righteousness?
But thanks be to God ,
that, whereas
you were bondservants
of
sin, you became
obedient
from
the heart
to
that
form of teaching whereunto
you were delivered
.
But thanks be to God that, though
you once
were slaves
to
sin, you wholeheartedly
obeyed
the form of teaching to
which
you were committed
.
Being
made
free from sin ,
you
became
bondservants
of
righteousness.
You
have
been
set
free from sin and
have
become
slaves
to
righteousness.
I speak
in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh ,
for
as you presented
your members
as
servants
to uncleanness
and to wickedness
upon
wickedness, even
so now present
your
members
as
servants
to righteousness for
sanctification
.
I am
speaking
in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh .
Just
as you used
to
offer
the
parts
of
your body
in
slavery
to impurity
and to escalating
wickedness, so now offer
them
in
slavery
to righteousness leading
to
holiness
.
For when you were servants
of
sin, you were free in
regard
to righteousness.
For when you were slaves
to
sin, you were free of
obligation
to righteousness.
What fruit then
did you have
at that time in
the things of which you are now ashamed? For
the end
of those things is death.
What fruit did you reap
at that time from
the things of which you are now ashamed? The outcome
of those things is death.
But now ,
being
made
free from sin ,
and having
become servants
of
God, you
have
your
fruit of
sanctification
, and the result
of
eternal life.
But now that
you
have
been
set
free from sin and have
become slaves
to
God, the
fruit you
reap
leads
to
holiness
, and the outcome
is
eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free
gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
