What shall we say then
? Shall we continue in sin ,
that grace may abound
?
What then
shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so
that grace may increase
?
God
forbid.
We who died to sin ,
how
shall
we
any longer live
therein
?
Certainly
not!
How
can
we who died to sin live
in
it
any longer?
Or are
ye
ignorant
that all we
who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Or aren’t
you
aware
that all of
us
who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
We were buried
therefore with him through baptism unto
death :
that like
as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so
we also
might
walk in newness of life.
We were therefore buried
with Him through baptism into
death ,
in
order
that ,
just
as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too
may
walk in newness of life.
For if we have become
united with `
him '
in the
likeness
of
his death, we shall
be
also `
in the
likeness'
of
his resurrection ;
For if we have been
united with Him like
this
in His death, we will
certainly
also be
united
with
Him
in His resurrection .
knowing
this,
that our old man
was crucified with `
him ',
that the body of sin might be done
away
, that so
we should no longer be in
bondage
to sin ;
We
know
that our old self
was crucified with Him so
that the body of sin might be rendered
powerless
, that we should no longer be slaves
to sin .
for he
that
hath
died is
justified
from sin.
For anyone
who
has
died has
been
freed
from sin.
But
if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall
also live with him ;
Now
if we died with Christ, we believe that we will
also live with Him .
knowing
that Christ being
raised from the dead dieth
no
more
; death no more
hath
dominion over him.
For
we
know
that since
Christ was
raised from the dead ,
He
cannot
die
again
; death no longer
has
dominion over Him.
For
the death that
he died, he died unto
sin once :
but the life that
he liveth
, he liveth
unto
God.
The death He died, He died to
sin once for
all;
but the life He lives
, He lives
to
God.
Even
so reckon
ye
also
yourselves to
be
dead unto
sin, but alive unto
God in Christ Jesus.
So you
too
must
count
yourselves dead to
sin, but alive to
God in Christ Jesus.
Let
not sin therefore
reign in your mortal body ,
that ye
should
obey the
lusts
thereof:
Therefore
do
not let
sin reign in your mortal body so
that you
obey its
desires.
neither
present your members
unto
sin `
as '
instruments of unrighteousness;
but present yourselves unto
God ,
as alive
from the
dead,
and your members
`
as '
instruments of righteousness unto
God
.
Do
not
present the
parts
of
your body
to
sin as instruments of wickedness,
but present yourselves to
God as those
who
have
been
brought
from death
to
life;
and present
the
parts
of
your body
to
Him
as instruments of righteousness.
For sin shall not have
dominion
over
you :
for
ye
are not under law, but under grace.
For sin shall not be
your
master,
because
you are not under law, but under grace.
What then? shall we sin ,
because we are not under law, but under grace? God
forbid.
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly
not!
Know
ye
not ,
that to
whom
ye
present
yourselves `
as '
servants
unto
obedience
, his
servants
ye
are whom
ye
obey ;
whether of
sin unto
death, or of
obedience unto
righteousness?
Do
you
not know
that when
you
offer
yourselves as obedient
slaves
, you
are slaves
to
the
one
you
obey ,
whether you
are
slaves
to
sin leading
to
death, or to
obedience leading
to
righteousness?
But thanks be to God ,
that, whereas
ye
were servants
of
sin, ye
became
obedient
from
the heart
to
that
form of teaching whereunto
ye
were delivered;
But thanks be to God that, though
you
once
were slaves
to
sin, you
wholeheartedly
obeyed
the form of teaching to
which
you
were committed.
and
being
made
free from sin ,
ye
became
servants
of
righteousness.
You
have
been
set
free from sin and
have
become
slaves
to
righteousness.
I speak
after
the
manner
of
men
because of the infirmity
of your flesh :
for
as ye
presented
your members
`as'
servants
to uncleanness
and to iniquity
unto
iniquity
, even
so now present
your
members
`as'
servants
to righteousness unto
sanctification
.
I am
speaking
in
human
terms
because of the weakness
of your flesh .
Just
as you
used
to
offer
the
parts
of
your body
in
slavery
to impurity
and to escalating
wickedness
, so now offer
them
in
slavery
to righteousness leading
to
holiness
.
For when ye
were servants
of
sin, ye
were free in
regard
of righteousness.
For when you
were slaves
to
sin, you
were free of obligation
to
righteousness.
What fruit then
had
ye
at that time in
the things whereof
ye
are now ashamed? for
the end
of those things is death.
What fruit did
you
reap
at that time from
the things of
which
you
are now ashamed? The outcome
of those things is death.
But now being
made
free from sin and become servants
to God, ye
have
your
fruit unto
sanctification
, and the end
eternal life.
But now that
you
have
been
set
free from sin and have
become slaves
to God, the
fruit you
reap
leads
to
holiness
, and the outcome
is
eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death ;
but the free
gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
