We who
are strong ought to bear with
the shortcomings
of the weak and not to please ourselves.
Now
we that
are strong ought to bear the infirmities
of the weak ,
and not to please ourselves.
Each of us should
please his neighbor for his
good, to
build
him
up
.
Let
each one
of us please his neighbor for that
which
is
good, unto
edifying
.
For even
Christ did
not please
Himself ,
but as it is written :
“
The insults
of those
who
insult
You
have
fallen
on
Me. ”
For Christ also
pleased
not himself ;
but ,
as it is written ,
The reproaches
of them
that
reproached
thee
fell
upon
me.
For everything
that
was
written in
the
past
was
written for our instruction
, so
that through endurance
and the
encouragement
of the Scriptures ,
we might have hope.
For whatsoever
things
were
written aforetime
were
written for our learning
, that through patience
and through
comfort
of the scriptures we might have hope.
Now may
the God who
gives
endurance
and encouragement
grant you harmony
with
one another in
Christ Jesus ,
Now the God of
patience
and of
comfort
grant you to
be
of
the
same
mind
one with
another according
to
Christ Jesus :
so
that with one mind
and
one
voice
you
may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
that with one accord
ye
may with
one
mouth
glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept
one another, then,
just
as Christ accepted
you, in
order
to bring
glory to
God.
Wherefore
receive
ye
one another, even
as Christ also
received
you, to the
glory of
God.
For I tell
you
that Christ has
become
a servant
of the circumcised
on
behalf
of
God’s
truth, to
confirm the promises made
to
the patriarchs
,
For I say
that Christ hath
been
made
a minister
of the circumcision
for
the
truth of
God
, that
he
might
confirm the promises `given'
unto
the fathers
,
so
that the Gentiles may
glorify God for His mercy .
As it is written :
“
Therefore I
will praise You
among the Gentiles ;
I
will
sing hymns
to
Your
name. ”
and
that the Gentiles might
glorify God for his mercy ;
as it is written ,
Therefore will I
give
praise unto
thee
among the Gentiles ,
And
sing unto
thy
name.
Again, it
says:
“
Rejoice, O
Gentiles, with His people. ”
And
again he
saith
, Rejoice, ye
Gentiles, with his people.
And again :
“
Praise the Lord, all you
Gentiles ,
and extol
Him,
all you
peoples. ”
And again ,
Praise the Lord, all ye
Gentiles ;
And let
all the
peoples praise
him
.
And once
more
, Isaiah says:
“
The Root of Jesse will
appear
, One
who
will
arise
to rule over the Gentiles; in
Him the Gentiles will
put
their
hope. ”
And again
, Isaiah saith,
There
shall
be
the root of Jesse, And
he
that
ariseth
to rule over the Gentiles; On
him shall
the Gentiles hope.
Now may
the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as
you
believe
in Him
, so
that you
may overflow
with
hope by
the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing
, that ye
may abound
in
hope ,
in
the power of the Holy Spirit.
I myself am convinced
, my brothers
, that you
yourselves are full of goodness, brimming
with knowledge, and
able to instruct
one another.
And
I myself also
am persuaded
of
you
, my brethren
, that ye
yourselves are full of goodness, filled
with all
knowledge, able also
to admonish
one another.
However,
I have
written
you a
bold
reminder
on
some points
, because of the grace God
has
given me
But
I write
the
more
boldly
unto
you in
some measure
, as
putting
you
again
in
remembrance,
because of the grace that
was
given me of
God,
to
be a minister of Christ Jesus to
the Gentiles in
the
priestly
service
of
the gospel of God, so
that the Gentiles might become
an
offering
acceptable to
God
, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
that
I
should
be a minister of Christ Jesus unto
the Gentiles ,
ministering
the gospel of God, that the offering
up
of
the
Gentiles might be
made
acceptable, being
sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore
I exult
in Christ Jesus in my
service
to God.
I have
therefore
my
glorifying
in Christ Jesus in things
pertaining
to God.
I will not presume
to speak of anything
except
what
Christ has
accomplished
through me in
leading
the Gentiles
to
obedience by word and deed,
For
I will not dare
to speak of any
things
save
those
which
Christ wrought
through me ,
for
the obedience of
the
Gentiles,
by word and deed,
by
the power of signs and wonders, and
by
the power of the Spirit of
God.
So from Jerusalem all
the
way
around
to
Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed
the gospel of Christ .
in
the power of signs and wonders, in
the power of the Holy
Spirit ;
so that
from Jerusalem ,
and
round
about
even
unto
Illyricum, I have fully preached
the gospel of Christ ;
In
this
way
I
have
aspired
to preach the gospel where Christ was not
known
, so
that I would
not be
building
on
someone
else’s
foundation .
yea,
making
it
my
aim
so
to preach the gospel ,
not
where Christ was `already'
named
, that I might
not build
upon
another
man's
foundation ;
Rather
, as it is written :
“Those
who
were
not
told
about
Him
will
see, and those
who have not heard will
understand. ”
but
, as it is written ,
They
shall
see, to
whom
no
tidings
of
him
came,
And they
who have not heard shall
understand.
That
is
why
I have
often
been
hindered from coming to you .
Wherefore
also
I was
hindered these
many
times
from coming to you :
But now that
there
are
no further
opportunities
for
me
in these regions, and since
I
have
longed
for
many years to visit
you,
but now ,
having
no more
any
place
in these regions, and having
these
many years a
longing
to come
unto
you,
I hope to see you on my way to
Spain.
And
after
I have enjoyed
your company for
a
while,
you
can
equip
me
for
my
journey.
whensoever
I go
unto
Spain
(for
I
hope to see you in
my
journey,
and
to
be
brought
on my way thitherward
by
you,
if
first
in
some
measure
I shall
have been
satisfied
with
your company )--
Now, however
, I am
on
my
way
to
Jerusalem to
serve
the saints there
.
but
now, I
`say'
, I go
unto
Jerusalem ,
ministering
unto
the saints.
For Macedonia and Achaia were
pleased
to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in
Jerusalem.
For it
hath
been
the
good
pleasure
of
Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain
contribution for the poor among the saints that
are
at
Jerusalem.
They
were
pleased
to
do
it
, and indeed
they owe
it
to
them
. For if the Gentiles have shared
in
their spiritual blessings
, they are
obligated
to minister
to them with
material
blessings
.
Yea
, it
hath
been
their
good
pleasure;
and their
debtors
they are
. For if the Gentiles have been
made
partakers
of
their spiritual things
, they owe
it
`
to them'
also
to minister
unto
them in
carnal
things
.
So
after
I have completed
this service
and have safely
delivered
this
bounty
to them, I will set
off
to
Spain
by way
of
you.
When
therefore
I have accomplished
this ,
and have sealed
to them this
fruit
, I will go
on
by you unto
Spain
.
I know that when I come to
you, I will
come in the fullness
of the blessing of Christ.
And
I know that ,
when I come unto
you, I shall
come in the fulness
of the blessing of Christ.
Now I urge
you, brothers
, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to
join
me in my
struggle
by
praying
to God for me .
Now I beseech
you, brethren
, by our Lord Jesus Christ ,
and by the love of the Spirit, that
ye
strive
together
with
me in your
prayers
to God for me ;
Pray
that I may be delivered from the
unbelievers
in Judea
, and that my service
in
Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there,
that I may be delivered from them
that
are
disobedient
in Judaea
, and `
that '
my ministration
which
`I
have'
for
Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints ;
so
that by
God’s
will
I may come to
you with
joy and together with you be
refreshed
.
that I may come unto
you in
joy through
the
will
of
God,
and together with you find
rest
.
The God of peace be with all
of
you. Amen.
