Brethren
, the
pleasure
indeed
of
my heart,
and my
supplication
that
`is'
to God for Israel,
is --
for salvation ;
Brothers
, my heart’s
desire
and prayer
to God for the
Israelites
is for their
salvation .
for I bear
them testimony
that they have
a
zeal
of
God, but not according
to
knowledge ,
For I testify
about
them that they are
zealous
for
God, but not on
the
basis
of
knowledge .
for
not
knowing
the
righteousness
of God,
and
their
own
righteousness seeking
to establish, to
the
righteousness
of
God
they did not submit.
Because
they
were
ignorant
of God’s
righteousness and
sought
to establish their
own
, they did not submit to
God’s
righteousness
.
For Christ is an
end of law for
righteousness to every
one
who is
believing,
For Christ is the
end of the
law ,
to
bring
righteousness to everyone
who believes.
for Moses
doth
describe
the righteousness that `
is '
of
the law, that,
`
The man who did
them
shall
live in
them ,'
For concerning
the righteousness that is by
the law, Moses
writes:
“
The man who does
these
things
will
live by
them .”
and
the righteousness of
faith doth
thus
speak
: `Thou
mayest
not say in thine
heart, Who shall
go
up
to
the
heaven ,'
that is, Christ
to bring down ?
But
the righteousness that
is
by
faith says
: “Do
not say in your
heart, ‘
Who will
ascend
into
heaven ?’
(
that is, to bring Christ
down )
or, `
Who shall
go
down
to
the abyss ,'
that is, Christ
out
of
the
dead
to bring up.
or, ‘
Who will
descend
into
the Abyss ?’
(
that is, to bring Christ
up from
the
dead)
. ”
But what doth
it say? `Nigh
thee
is
the saying
--
in thy
mouth ,
and in thy
heart :'
that is, the saying
of the
faith ,
that
we preach;
But what does
it say? “
The word
is
near
you;
it
is
in your
mouth and in your
heart ,”
that is, the word
of faith we are
proclaiming:
that if thou
mayest
confess with thy
mouth the
Lord
Jesus, and mayest
believe in thy
heart that God did
raise
him out
of
the dead, thou
shalt
be saved ,
that if you
confess with your
mouth ,
“
Jesus is
Lord
, ”
and believe in your
heart that God raised
Him from
the dead, you
will
be saved .
for with the
heart doth
`one'
believe to
righteousness
, and with the
mouth is
confession
made
to
salvation;
For with your
heart you
believe and
are
justified
, and with your
mouth you
confess
and
are
saved.
for
the Writing
saith,
`Every
one
who is
believing
on
him shall
not
be ashamed,'
It
is
just
as
the Scripture
says:
“Anyone
who believes
in
Him will
never
be put
to
shame.”
for there is no difference between Jew and Greek ,
for
the same Lord of all `is'
rich
to all those
calling
upon
Him,
For there is no difference between Jew and Greek :
The same Lord is
Lord
of all ,
and
gives
richly
to all who
call
on
Him,
for every
one
--
whoever
shall
call
upon
the name of the Lord ,
he
shall
be saved. '
for ,
“Everyone
who
calls
on
the name of the Lord will
be saved. ”
How then shall
they call upon
`him'
in whom they did
not believe
? and how shall
they believe `on
him'
of whom they did
not hear
? and how shall
they hear apart
from
one
preaching
?
How then can
they call on
the
One
in whom they have
not believed
? And how can
they believe in
the
One
of whom they have
not heard
? And how can
they hear without
someone
to
preach
?
and how shall
they preach ,
if
they may
not
be
sent? according
as it hath
been
written ,
`
How beautiful the feet of those proclaiming
good
tidings
of
peace,
of
those
proclaiming
good
tidings
of
the
good things
! '
And how can
they preach unless
they are
sent? As it is
written :
“
How beautiful are
the feet of those who
bring
good news
! ”
But they
were
not all obedient
to
the good tidings,
for Isaiah saith
, `
Lord, who did
give
credence
to
our report
? '
But not all of
them
welcomed
the good news.
For Isaiah says
, “
Lord, who has
believed
our message
? ”
so
then
the
faith `is'
by a
report
, and the report
through
a
saying
of God,
Consequently,
faith comes
by hearing
, and hearing
by
the word
of Christ.
but I say
, Did they not hear? yes,
indeed --
`to
all the earth their
voice
went
forth
, and
to the ends of the habitable
world their
sayings
. '
But I ask
, did they not hear? Indeed they
did:
“Their
voice
has
gone
out
into
all the earth, their
words
to the ends of the world. ”
But
I say
, Did not
Israel know
? first Moses
saith
, `
I will provoke
you to
jealousy
by `that
which
is'
not a nation; by
an
unintelligent
nation
I will anger
you ,'
I ask
instead
, did Israel not
understand
? First, Moses
says:
“
I will make
you jealous
by those
who
are
not a nation; I will make
you angry
by
a
nation
without
understanding.”
and Isaiah is
very
bold,
and
saith,
`
I was found by those not seeking
Me; I became
manifest
to those not inquiring
after
Me ;'
And Isaiah boldly
says:
“
I was found by those who
did
not seek
Me; I revealed
Myself
to those who
did
not ask
for
Me .”
and
unto
Israel He saith,
`
All the
day I did
stretch
out My hands unto
a people
unbelieving
and gainsaying
. '
But
as
for
Israel he says:
“
All day long
I have
held
out My hands to
a disobedient
and obstinate
people
. ”
