O Jehovah , rebuke me not in thine anger , Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure .

For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments, according to Sheminith. A Psalm of David. O LORD , do not rebuke me in Your anger or discipline me in Your wrath .

Have mercy upon me, O Jehovah; for I am withered away: O Jehovah, heal me ; for my bones are troubled .

Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am frail; heal me , O LORD, for my bones are in agony .

My soul also is sore troubled: And thou , O Jehovah , how long?

My soul is deeply distressed. How long , O LORD , how long?

Return , O Jehovah , deliver my soul : Save me for thy lovingkindness' sake .

Turn , O LORD , and deliver my soul ; save me because of Your loving devotion .

For in death there is no remembrance of thee: In Sheol who shall give thee thanks ?

For there is no mention of You in death; who can praise You from Sheol ?

I am weary with my groaning; Every night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

I am weary from groaning; all night I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.

Mine eye wasteth away because of grief; It waxeth old because of all mine adversaries .

My eyes fail from grief; they grow dim because of all my foes .

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity ; For Jehovah hath heard the voice of my weeping.

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity , for the LORD has heard my weeping.

Jehovah hath heard my supplication ; Jehovah will receive my prayer.

The LORD has heard my cry for mercy ; the LORD accepts my prayer.

All mine enemies shall be put to shame and sore troubled: They shall turn back , they shall be put to shame suddenly. Psalm 7 Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto Jehova, concerning the words of Cush a Benjamite .

All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace .
