Psalm
of
Asaph.
The Mighty One,
God the LORD, speaks
and summons
the earth from where
the sun rises
to
where
it
sets
.
The mighty God ,
even
the LORD, hath
spoken,
and called
the earth from the rising
of
the
sun unto
the
going
down
thereof
.
From
Zion, perfect
in
beauty, God shines
forth
.
Out
of
Zion, the
perfection
of
beauty, God hath
shined
.
Our God approaches
and will
not be
silent!
Consuming
fire precedes
Him, and a
tempest
rages
around
Him.
Our God shall
come,
and shall
not keep
silence:
a
fire shall
devour
before
him, and it
shall
be
very
tempestuous
round
about
him.
He summons
the heavens above, and the earth, that He may judge His people :
He shall
call
to
the heavens from
above, and to
the earth, that he may judge his people .
“
Gather to
Me
My saints ,
who
made a covenant with Me by sacrifice. ”
Gather my saints together
unto
me;
those
that
have
made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
And the heavens proclaim
His righteousness ,
for God Himself
is Judge. Selah
And the heavens shall
declare
his righteousness :
for God is judge himself
. Selah .
“
Hear, O My people, and I will speak ,
O Israel, and I will testify against you
: I am God, your
God.
Hear, O my people, and I will speak ;
O Israel, and I will testify against thee
: I am God, even
thy
God.
I do
not rebuke
you
for your
sacrifices ,
and
your
burnt offerings are
ever
before Me.
I will
not reprove
thee
for thy
sacrifices or
thy
burnt offerings ,
to
have
been
continually
before me.
I have
no need
for
a
bull
from
your
stall
or
goats
from
your
pens
,
I will
take
no bullock
out
of
thy
house
, nor
he
goats
out
of
thy
folds.
for every beast of the forest is Mine —
the cattle on
a thousand hills.
For every beast of the forest is mine ,
and
the cattle upon
a thousand hills.
I know every
bird
in
the mountains ,
and the creatures
of the field are Mine.
I know all
the fowls
of
the
mountains :
and the wild
beasts
of the field are mine.
If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
for the world is Mine, and the fullness
thereof.
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee:
for the world is mine, and the fulness
thereof.
Do
I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
Will
I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
Sacrifice
a
thank
offering
to
God ,
and fulfill
your
vows to
the Most High .
Offer
unto
God thanksgiving;
and pay
thy
vows unto
the most High :
Call upon Me in the day of trouble ;
I will deliver you
, and you
will
honor
Me. ”
And
call upon me in the day of trouble :
I will deliver thee
, and thou
shalt
glorify
me.
To
the wicked ,
however,
God says
, “
What right
have
you
to recite
My statutes and
to
bear
My covenant on
your
lips
?
But
unto
the wicked God saith
, What hast
thou
to do
to
declare
my statutes ,
or
that
thou
shouldest
take
my covenant in
thy
mouth
?
For
you
hate
My
instruction and cast
My words behind you
.
Seeing
thou
hatest
instruction ,
and casteth
my words behind thee
.
When you
see
a thief, you
befriend
him, and throw
in
your
lot
with adulterers.
When thou
sawest
a thief, then
thou
consentedst
with
him, and hast
been
partaker
with adulterers.
You
unleash
your
mouth for
evil and unharness
your
tongue for
deceit.
Thou
givest
thy
mouth to
evil ,
and thy
tongue frameth
deceit.
You
sit
and malign
your
brother; you
slander
your
own mother’s
son.
Thou
sittest
and speakest
against
thy
brother; thou
slanderest
thine
own mother's
son.
You
have
done
these things, and I kept silent
; you
thought
I was just
like
you.
But now
I rebuke
you
and accuse
you
to
your
face
.
These things hast
thou
done
, and I kept silence
; thou
thoughtest
that
I was altogether
such
an
one
as
thyself:
but I will
reprove
thee,
and set
them
in
order
before
thine
eyes
.
Now consider this, you
who
forget God, lest I tear you to
pieces, with
no
one
to rescue
you:
Now consider this, ye
that
forget God, lest I tear you in
pieces, and
there
be
none
to deliver.
He
who
sacrifices
a
thank
offering
honors
Me ,
and to him who
rights
his way,
I
will show
the salvation of God. ”
Whoso
offereth
praise
glorifieth
me :
and to him that
ordereth
his conversation
aright
will I
shew
the salvation of God.
