King James Version
Why do the nations
rage and the peoples
plot
in
vain?
Why do the heathen
rage ,
and the people
imagine
a
vain thing
?
The kings of the earth take
their
stand
and the rulers gather
together, against the LORD and against His Anointed One:
The kings of the earth set
themselves,
and the rulers take
counsel
together, against the LORD ,
and against his anointed ,
saying,
“
Let us break Their chains
and cast away Their cords. ”
Let us break their bands
asunder,
and cast away their cords from
us
.
The
One
enthroned
in heaven
laughs;
the Lord taunts
them.
He
that
sitteth
in the heavens
shall
laugh:
the
LORD shall
have
them in
derision
.
Then He rebukes
them in His anger
, and terrifies
them in His fury:
Then shall
he speak
unto
them in his wrath
, and vex
them in his sore
displeasure.
“I
have installed
My King on
Zion,
upon My holy mountain
. ”
Yet
have I
set
my king upon my holy hill
of
Zion
.
I will proclaim
the decree spoken
to
Me
by
the LORD :
“You
are
My Son; today
I
have become
Your
Father
.
I will declare
the decree :
the LORD hath
said
unto
me,
Thou
art
my Son; this
day
have I
begotten
thee
.
Ask Me, and I will
make
the nations
Your
inheritance, the ends
of the earth Your
possession.
Ask of
me, and I shall
give
thee
the heathen
for
thine
inheritance, and
the uttermost
parts
of the earth for
thy
possession.
You
will
break them with an
iron scepter
; You
will
shatter
them like pottery
. ”
Thou
shalt
break them with a
rod
of
iron; thou
shalt
dash
them in
pieces
like a
potter's
vessel
.
Therefore
be wise, O kings ;
be admonished
, O
judges of the earth.
Be wise now
therefore
, O ye
kings :
be instructed
, ye
judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you
perish in
your
rebellion
, when His wrath ignites
in
an
instant
. Blessed are all who
take
refuge
in Him.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry ,
and ye
perish from
the
way
, when his wrath is
kindled
but
a
little
. Blessed are all they
that
put
their
trust
in him.
