Jehovah
is my light and my salvation ;
Whom shall I fear? Jehovah
is the strength
of my life ;
Of
whom shall I be
afraid
?
Of
David.
The
LORD
is my light and my salvation —
whom shall I fear? The
LORD
is the stronghold
of my life —
whom shall I dread
?
When evil-doers
came upon me to eat
up
my flesh, `Even'
mine
adversaries
and
my foes ,
they
stumbled and fell.
When the
wicked
came upon me to devour
my flesh, my enemies
and
foes stumbled and fell.
Though a
host
should
encamp
against
me, My heart shall
not fear :
Though war should
rise
against me, Even
then
will
I be
confident
.
Though an
army
encamps
around
me, my heart will
not fear ;
though a
war breaks
out
against me, I will
keep
my
trust
.
One thing have
I asked of Jehovah,
that
will
I
seek
after
; That
I may
dwell in the house of Jehovah
all the days of my life, To behold
the beauty of Jehovah,
And to
inquire
in his temple.
One thing I have
asked of the
LORD
; this
is
what
I desire:
to
dwell in the house of the
LORD
all the days of my life, to gaze
on
the beauty of the
LORD
and seek
Him
in His temple.
For in the day of trouble he will keep
me secretly
in his pavilion:
In
the covert
of his tabernacle
will
he
hide
me
; He will lift
me up
upon a rock.
For in the day of trouble He will hide
me in His shelter;
He
will
conceal
me
under
the cover
of His tent
; He will set
me high
upon a rock.
And
now
shall
my head be lifted
up
above mine
enemies round
about
me. And
I will offer in
his
tabernacle
sacrifices of joy; I will sing ,
yea,
I
will
sing
praises
unto
Jehovah
.
Then
my head will
be held
high
above my
enemies around
me. At
His
tabernacle
I will offer sacrifices with
shouts
of joy; I will sing and
make
music
to
the
LORD
.
Hear, O Jehovah
, when
I
cry
with
my voice :
Have
mercy
also
upon
me,
and answer me.
Hear, O LORD
, my voice when
I
call;
be
merciful
and answer me.
`When
thou
saidst',
Seek
ye
my face;
My
heart said unto
thee
, Thy
face, Jehovah
, will
I seek.
My heart said, “Seek
His
face .”
Your
face
, O
LORD
, I will
seek.
Hide not thy
face from me ;
Put
not
thy
servant
away in anger :
Thou
hast
been my help
; Cast
me
not off,
neither
forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Hide not Your
face from me ,
nor
turn
away Your
servant
in anger .
You
have
been my helper
; do
not leave
me
or
forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When
my father and my
mother forsake me, Then
Jehovah
will take
me up
.
Though
my father and mother forsake me, the
LORD
will receive
me.
Teach me thy
way, O Jehovah;
And lead me in
a plain
path, Because of mine
enemies
.
Teach me Your
way, O LORD,
and lead me on
a level
path, because of my
oppressors
.
Deliver
me
not over unto
the will of mine
adversaries:
For false witnesses are
risen
up against me, And
such
as
breathe
out cruelty
.
Do
not hand
me
over to
the will of my
foes,
for false witnesses rise
up against me, breathing
out violence
.
`I
had
fainted',
unless
I had
believed
to see the goodness of Jehovah
In the land of the living.
Still
I am
certain
to see the goodness of the
LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for Jehovah:
Be strong ,
and let
thy
heart
take
courage;
Yea,
wait thou
for Jehovah.
Psalm
28
`A
Psalm'
of
David.
Wait patiently
for the
LORD;
be strong and courageous.
Wait patiently
for the
LORD!
