Praise
ye
the
LORD.
O
give thanks unto
the LORD ;
for he is good :
for
his mercy
endureth
for
ever
.
Hallelujah!
Give thanks to
the LORD ,
for He is good ;
His loving
devotion
endures
forever
.
Who can utter
the mighty acts of the LORD ?
who
can
shew
forth
all
his praise?
Who can describe
the mighty acts of the LORD or
fully
proclaim
His praise?
Blessed are they
that
keep
judgment
, and
he
that
doeth
righteousness at all times.
Blessed are those
who
uphold
justice
, who
practice
righteousness at all times.
Remember me, O LORD, with
the
favour
that
thou
bearest
unto
thy
people :
O
visit me with thy
salvation ;
Remember me, O LORD, in
Your
favor
to
Your
people ;
visit me with Your
salvation ,
That I may see the good
of thy
chosen, that
I
may
rejoice in the gladness of thy
nation, that
I
may
glory with thine
inheritance.
that I may see the prosperity
of Your
chosen ones
, and
rejoice in the gladness of Your
nation, and
give
glory with Your
inheritance.
We have sinned with
our fathers ,
we
have
committed
iniquity,
we have done wickedly.
We have sinned like
our fathers ;
we have done wrong
and
acted
wickedly.
Our fathers understood
not
thy
wonders
in Egypt ;
they
remembered
not the
multitude
of
thy
mercies
; but provoked
him
at
the sea, even
at the Red sea.
Our fathers in Egypt did
not grasp
Your
wonders
or
remember
Your
abundant
kindness
; but they
rebelled
by
the sea, there
at the Red Sea.
Nevertheless
he saved them for his
name's
sake, that
he
might
make his mighty
power to
be
known.
Yet
He saved them for the
sake of
His
name
, to
make His power known.
He rebuked the Red sea also
, and it was
dried up :
so
he led them through the depths ,
as through the
wilderness
.
He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up ;
He led them through the depths as through a
desert
.
And
he saved them from the hand of
him
that hated them ,
and
redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
He saved them from the hand that hated them ;
He
redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
And
the waters covered their enemies:
there
was
not one of them left
.
The waters covered their foes;
not one of them remained
.
Then believed
they his words;
they
sang his praise.
Then they believed
His promises
and
sang His praise.
They soon forgat
his works ;
they
waited
not
for his counsel :
Yet
they soon forgot
His works and
failed
to
wait
for His counsel .
But
lusted
exceedingly
in the wilderness ,
and tempted
God in the desert.
They
craved
intensely
in the wilderness and tested
God in the desert.
And
he gave
them
their request ;
but sent leanness
into
their
soul
.
So
He granted
their request ,
but sent a
wasting
disease
upon
them
.
They
envied
Moses
also
in the camp, and
Aaron the saint
of the LORD.
In the camp they
envied
Moses
, as
well
as
Aaron ,
the holy
one
of the LORD.
The earth opened and swallowed up
Dathan and
covered the company
of Abiram.
The earth opened up
and swallowed Dathan ;
it
covered the assembly
of Abiram.
And
a
fire was
kindled
in
their company; the
flame
burned
up
the wicked.
Then
fire blazed
through
their company; flames
consumed
the wicked.
They made a calf in
Horeb,
and worshipped
the
molten image.
At
Horeb
they made a calf and worshiped
a
molten image.
Thus
they changed
their glory into
the similitude
of an
ox
that
eateth
grass.
They exchanged
their Glory for
the image
of a
grass -eating
ox
.
They forgat
God their saviour
, which
had
done
great things in Egypt ;
They forgot
God their Savior
, who
did
great things in Egypt ,
Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible
things
by the Red sea.
wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome
deeds
by the Red Sea.
Therefore
he said that
he would destroy them ,
had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach ,
to turn
away
his wrath ,
lest
he
should
destroy
them.
So
He said He would destroy them —
had not Moses His chosen one
stood before Him in the breach to divert
His wrath from
destroying
them.
Yea,
they despised the pleasant land ,
they believed
not his word:
They despised the pleasant land ;
they did
not believe
His promise.
But
murmured
in their tents ,
and hearkened
not unto
the voice of the LORD.
They
grumbled
in their tents and did
not listen
to
the voice of the LORD.
Therefore
he lifted
up
his hand against
them,
to overthrow
them in the wilderness :
So
He raised
His hand and
swore
to cast
them down
in the wilderness ,
To overthrow
their seed
also
among the nations ,
and to
scatter them in
the lands.
to disperse
their offspring
among the nations and scatter them throughout
the lands.
They joined
themselves also
unto
Baalpeor,
and ate the
sacrifices of
the
dead
.
They yoked
themselves to
Baal
of
Peor
and ate sacrifices offered
to
lifeless
gods
.
Thus
they provoked him
to anger with their inventions:
and the
plague brake
in
upon
them.
So
they provoked the
LORD
to anger with their deeds,
and a
plague broke
out
among
them.
Then
stood
up
Phinehas ,
and executed
judgment:
and so
the plague was stayed
.
But
Phinehas stood
and intervened,
and the plague was restrained
.
And
that
was counted
unto
him for
righteousness unto
all
generations
for evermore
.
It
was credited
to
him as
righteousness for endless
generations
to
come
.
They
angered
him
also
at the waters of strife
, so
that
it
went
ill
with
Moses for
their
sakes:
At the waters of Meribah
they
angered
the
LORD
, and
trouble
came
to
Moses because
of
them.
Because
they provoked
his spirit, so
that
he
spake
unadvisedly
with his lips.
For
they rebelled
against
His Spirit, and
Moses
spoke
rashly
with his lips.
They did not destroy the nations,
concerning
whom
the LORD commanded them :
They did not destroy the peoples
as
the LORD had
commanded them ,
But were
mingled among
the heathen,
and learned
their works
.
but they
mingled with
the nations
and adopted
their customs
.
And
they served
their idols :
which were
a snare unto
them.
They worshiped
their idols ,
which became
a snare to
them.
Yea,
they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto
devils,
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to
demons.
And
shed innocent blood ,
even
the blood of their sons and of
their
daughters, whom they sacrificed unto
the idols of Canaan :
and the land was polluted with blood.
They
shed innocent blood —
the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to
the idols of Canaan ,
and the land was polluted with blood.
Thus
were
they defiled with
their own
works,
and went
a
whoring
with
their own
inventions
.
They defiled themselves
by
their actions
and prostituted
themselves
by
their deeds
.
Therefore
was
the wrath
of the LORD kindled
against his people, insomuch
that
he abhorred his own inheritance.
So
the anger
of the LORD burned
against His people, and
He abhorred His own inheritance.
And
he gave
them into the hand of the heathen;
and they
that
hated them ruled over them.
He delivered
them into the hand of the nations,
and those
who
hated them ruled over them.
Their enemies also
oppressed them, and they
were
brought
into
subjection
under their hand.
Their enemies oppressed them, and subdued
them
under their hand.
Many times did
he deliver
them ;
but they provoked
him
with
their
counsel,
and
were brought
low
for
their iniquity.
Many times He rescued
them ,
but they were bent
on
rebellion
and
sank
down
in
their iniquity.
Nevertheless he regarded
their
affliction,
when
he
heard their cry :
Nevertheless He heard their cry ;
He
took
note
of
their
distress.
And he remembered for
them
his covenant, and repented
according
to
the multitude
of his mercies
.
And He remembered His covenant with
them
, and relented
by
the abundance
of His loving
devotion
.
He made them also
to
be
pitied
of all those
that
carried
them captives
.
He made them objects
of compassion
to
all who
held
them captive
.
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among
the heathen
, to
give thanks unto
thy
holy name, and
to
triumph
in thy
praise.
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from the nations
, that
we
may
give thanks to
Your
holy name, that
we
may
glory
in Your
praise.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting :
and
let all the people say, Amen .
Praise
ye
the
LORD.
Blessed be the LORD ,
the
God of Israel ,
from everlasting to everlasting .
Let all the people say, “
Amen !”
Hallelujah!
