King James Version
Paul and Timothy
, servants of Jesus Christ ;
To all the saints in Christ Jesus who
are at Philippi, with the overseers
and deacons:
Paul and Timotheus
, the
servants of Jesus Christ ,
to all the saints in Christ Jesus which
are at Philippi, with the bishops
and deacons:
Grace to
you, and peace from God ,
our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace be
unto
you, and peace ,
from God our Father, and from
the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God whenever
I
remember
you,
I thank my God upon
every
remembrance
of
you,
always in every request
of mine on
behalf
of
you all making my
requests
with joy,
Always in every prayer
of mine for
you all making request
with joy,
for your partnership
in furtherance
of
the Gospel from the first day until now;
For your fellowship
in the gospel from the first day until now;
being confident of this very thing, that he who
began
a good work in you will complete
it until the day of Jesus Christ .
Being confident of this very thing, that he which
hath
begun
a good work in you will perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ :
It is even
right
for me to think this way
on
behalf
of all
of
you, because I have you in my heart ,
because,
both in my bonds and in the defense
and confirmation of the Gospel, you
all are partakers with
me
of grace.
Even
as
it is meet
for me to think this of you all
, because I have you in my heart ;
inasmuch
as
both in my bonds ,
and in the defence
and confirmation of the gospel, ye
all are partakers of my
grace.
For God is my witness
, how I long after all
of
you in the tender
mercies
of Christ
Jesus.
For God is my record
, how greatly
I long after you all
in the bowels
of Jesus Christ
.
This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment
;
And
this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in
all judgment
;
so
that you
may approve the
things that are excellent; that you
may be sincere and without offense
to
the day of Christ ;
That ye
may approve things that are excellent; that ye
may be sincere and without offence
till
the day of Christ .
being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through
Jesus Christ, to
the glory and praise of God.
Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by
Jesus Christ, unto
the glory and praise of God.
Now
I desire
to
have
you
know
, brothers
, that the things which happened to
me have turned
out rather to
the progress
of the Gospel;
But
I would
ye
should
understand
, brethren
, that the things which happened unto
me have fallen
out rather unto
the furtherance
of the gospel;
so that it
became
evident
to
the
whole
praetorian
guard,
and
to
all
the
rest,
that
my bonds are
in Christ;
So that my bonds in Christ are
manifest
in
all
the
palace,
and
in
all
other
places
;
and that
most
of the brothers
in the Lord, being
confident through
my bonds, are more abundantly
bold to speak the word of
God
without fear.
And many
of the brethren
in the Lord, waxing
confident by
my bonds, are much
more bold to speak the word without fear.
Some indeed preach Christ even out
of envy and strife ,
and some also out
of good will .
Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife ;
and some also of good will :
The former
insincerly
preach Christ from
selfish
ambition
, thinking
that
they
add affliction to my chains;
The one
preach Christ of
contention
, not
sincerely,
supposing
to
add affliction to my bonds:
but the latter
out
of love, knowing that I am appointed
for the defense
of the Gospel.
But the other
of love, knowing that I am set
for the defence
of the gospel.
What does
it
matter
? Only
that
in
every way, whether in pretense
or in truth, Christ is proclaimed.
I rejoice in
this
, yes
, and will rejoice.
What then
? notwithstanding,
every way, whether in pretence,
or in truth, Christ is preached;
and
I therein
do
rejoice, yea
, and will rejoice.
For I know that this will
turn out
to my salvation ,
through your supplication
and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
For I know that this shall
turn to my salvation through your prayer,
and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I
will
in no
way
be disappointed
, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will
be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
According to my earnest expectation and my
hope, that in nothing
I
shall
be ashamed
, but that
with all boldness, as always, so
now also Christ shall
be magnified in my body, whether it
be
by life, or by death.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
But if I live on
in the flesh, this will
bring
fruit from
my work;
yet I
don't
make
known
what I will
choose.
But if I live in the flesh, this is
the
fruit of
my labour:
yet what I shall
choose I
wot
not
.
But
I am in a dilemma
between
the
two, having the
desire to depart and be with Christ ,
which is far better .
For
I am in a strait
betwixt
two, having a
desire to depart ,
and to
be with Christ ;
which is far better :
Yet,
to remain
in the flesh is more needful for your
sake
.
Nevertheless
to abide
in the flesh is more needful for you
.
Having this confidence, I know that I will
remain,
yes,
and remain
with you all ,
for your progress
and joy in
the
faith ,
And
having this confidence, I know that I shall
abide
and continue
with you all for your furtherance
and joy of
faith ;
that your rejoicing may abound
in Christ
Jesus in
me through
my presence
with
you again.
That your rejoicing may be
more
abundant
in Jesus Christ
for
me by
my coming
to
you again.
Only let your manner
of
life
be worthy
of
the Gospel of Christ ,
that ,
whether I come and see you or am
absent, I may hear of your state
, that you
stand firm
in one spirit, with one soul
striving for the faith of the Gospel;
Only let your conversation
be as
it
becometh
the gospel of Christ :
that whether I come and see you ,
or else
be
absent, I may hear of your affairs
, that ye
stand fast
in one spirit, with one mind
striving together
for the faith of the gospel;
and in nothing frightened
by the
adversaries ,
which is for
them a
proof
of destruction
, but to you of salvation, and that from
God.
And in nothing terrified
by your
adversaries :
which is to
them an
evident
token
of perdition
, but to you of salvation, and that of
God.
Because
it
has
been
granted
to
you on
behalf of Christ, not only to believe in
him, but also to suffer on
his behalf,
For
unto
you it
is
given
in
the
behalf of Christ, not only to believe on
him, but also to suffer for
his sake;
having the same conflict which you
saw in me, and now hear is
in me.
Having the same conflict which ye
saw in me, and now hear to
be
in me.
