spake
unto
Moses, saying,
Then
the
LORD
said
to
Moses,
Command the children
of
Israel,
and say unto
them ,
When ye
come
into
the land of Canaan (this
is
the
land
that
shall
fall
unto
you for
an inheritance ,
even
the
land
of
Canaan
according
to
the
borders
thereof),
“
Command the Israelites
and say to
them :
When you
enter
the land of Canaan ,
it
will
be
allotted
to
you as
an inheritance with
these
boundaries:
then
your south
quarter
shall
be
from the wilderness of Zin along by
the side
of Edom, and
your south
border shall
be
from the end of the Salt Sea eastward;
Your southern
border
will
extend
from the Wilderness of Zin along the border
of Edom .
On
the
east
, your southern
border will
run
from the end of the Salt Sea ,
and
your
border
shall
turn
about
southward
of the ascent of Akrabbim, and
pass
along
to Zin ;
and the
goings
out
thereof
shall
be
southward
of Kadesh-barnea ;
and
it shall
go forth
to Hazar-addar ,
and pass
along
to Azmon ;
cross
south
of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continue
to Zin ,
and go
south
of Kadesh-barnea .
Then
it will
go on
to Hazar-addar and proceed
to Azmon ,
and
the
border
shall
turn about
from Azmon unto
the brook of Egypt, and the
goings
out
thereof
shall
be
at the sea.
where
it
will
turn from Azmon ,
join
the Brook of Egypt, and end
at the Sea.
And
for
the
western border ,
ye
shall
have
the great sea and
the
border
`thereof':
this shall
be your west border
.
Your
western border will
be
the coastline
of
the
Great Sea ;
this will
be your boundary
on
the
west.
And
this
shall
be
your north
border :
from the great sea ye
shall
mark
out
for
you
mount Hor ;
Your northern
border will
run
from the Great Sea directly
to
Mount Hor ,
from mount Hor ye
shall
mark
out
unto
the
entrance
of
Hamath ;
and
the
goings
out
of
the
border
shall
be
at
Zedad ;
and
from Mount Hor to
Lebo-
hamath ,
then
extend
to
Zedad ,
and
the
border
shall
go
forth
to Ziphron, and the
goings
out
thereof
shall
be
at Hazar-enan :
this shall
be your north border
.
continue
to Ziphron, and end
at Hazar-enan .
This will
be your boundary
on
the
north.
And ye
shall
mark
out
your east
border from Hazar-enan to Shepham ;
And your eastern
border will
run
straight
from Hazar-enan to Shepham ,
and
the
border
shall
go down from Shepham to Riblah ,
on the east side of Ain ;
and the
border
shall
go
down,
and
shall
reach
unto
the side
of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;
then
go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue
along
the slopes
east
of the Sea of Chinnereth .
and
the border shall
go down to
the Jordan ,
and the
goings
out
thereof
shall
be
at the Salt Sea. This shall
be your land according
to
the
borders thereof
round
about
.
Then
the border will
go down along
the Jordan and end
at the Salt Sea. This will
be your land ,
defined
by
its
borders on
all
sides
. ”
And
Moses commanded the children
of
Israel,
saying
, This is
the
land which
ye
shall
inherit
by lot ,
which
Jehovah
hath
commanded to give
unto
the nine tribes,
and to
the
half -tribe;
So
Moses commanded the Israelites
, “Apportion
this land by lot as
an
inheritance.
The
LORD
has
commanded that
it
be
given
to the nine and a
half tribes.
for the tribe
of the children
of
Reuben
according
to
their
fathers'
houses,
and the
tribe
of
the
children
of
Gad
according
to
their
fathers'
houses,
have
received
, and
the half-tribe of Manasseh have received ,
their inheritance :
For the tribes
of the Reubenites
and Gadites
, along
with
the half-tribe of Manasseh ,
have already
received their inheritance .
the
two tribes
and the
half -tribe
have received their inheritance beyond
the Jordan at
Jericho eastward
, toward the sunrising
.
These
two and a
half tribes
have received their inheritance across
the Jordan from
Jericho, toward the sunrise
. ”
And
Jehovah
spake
unto
Moses, saying,
Then
the
LORD
said
to
Moses,
These are the names of the men that
shall
divide
the land unto
you
for
inheritance: Eleazar the priest ,
and Joshua the
son of Nun.
“
These are the names of the men who
are
to
assign
the land as
an
inheritance for
you
: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
And
ye
shall
take
one prince
of
every
tribe ,
to divide
the land for
inheritance
.
Appoint
one leader
from
each
tribe to distribute
the land.
And
these are the
names of
the
men
: Of the tribe of Judah ,
Caleb
the
son
of
Jephunneh.
These are their
names: Caleb
son
of Jephunneh
from
the tribe of Judah ;
And
of the tribe of the
children
of
Simeon ,
Shemuel
the
son
of
Ammihud.
Shemuel
son
of Ammihud
from
the tribe of Simeon ;
Of the tribe of Benjamin ,
Elidad
the
son
of
Chislon.
Elidad
son
of Chislon
from
the tribe of Benjamin ;
And
of the tribe of the
children
of
Dan a
prince,
Bukki
the
son
of
Jogli.
Bukki
son
of Jogli,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Dan ;
Of
the
children
of
Joseph:
of the tribe of the
children
of
Manasseh a
prince,
Hanniel
the
son of Ephod.
Hanniel

of Ephod,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph;
And
of the tribe of the
children
of
Ephraim a
prince,
Kemuel
the
son
of
Shiphtan.
Kemuel

of Shiphtan,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Ephraim ;
And
of the tribe of the
children
of
Zebulun a
prince,
Elizaphan
the
son
of
Parnach.
Eli-zaphan
son
of Parnach,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Zebulun ;
And
of the tribe of the
children
of
Issachar a
prince,
Paltiel
the
son
of
Azzan.
Paltiel

of Azzan,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Issachar ;
And
of the tribe of the
children
of
Asher a
prince,
Ahihud
the
son
of
Shelomi.
Ahihud

of Shelomi,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Asher ;
And of the tribe of the
children
of
Naphtali a
prince,
Pedahel
the
son
of
Ammihud
.
and Pedahel
son
of Ammihud,
a
leader
from
the tribe of Naphtali. ”
These are they
whom Jehovah
commanded to divide
the inheritance unto
the children
of
Israel
in the land of Canaan.
These are the
ones
whom the
LORD
commanded to apportion
the inheritance to
the Israelites
in the land of Canaan.
