When Jesus
came
down from the mountain, large
crowds
followed Him.
And
when he
was
come
down from the mountain, great
multitudes
followed him.
Suddenly
a leper came
and knelt
before
Him, saying, “
Lord, if You
are
willing
, You
can
make me clean. ”
And
behold,
there
came
to
him
a leper and worshipped
him, saying, Lord, if thou
wilt
, thou
canst
make me clean.
Jesus
reached
out
His hand and touched the
man.
“I
am
willing
, ”
He
said.
“
Be clean !”
And immediately
his leprosy was cleansed.
And
he
stretched
forth
his hand ,
and touched him
, saying,
I
will;
be thou
made
clean .
And straightway
his leprosy was cleansed.
Then
Jesus instructed
him, “
See that
you
don’t
tell anyone.
But go, show yourself
to the priest and offer the gift prescribed
by
Moses, as
a testimony to
them. ”
And
Jesus saith
unto
him, See thou
tell no
man;
but go, show thyself
to the priest ,
and offer the gift that
Moses commanded
, for
a testimony unto
them.
When Jesus
had
entered Capernaum, a centurion came
and
pleaded
with
Him,
And
when he
was
entered into
Capernaum, there
came
unto
him
a centurion ,
beseeching
him,
“
Lord, my servant lies
at
home,
paralyzed
and
in terrible
agony
. ”
and
saying,
Lord, my servant lieth
in the
house
sick
of
the
palsy,
grievously
tormented
.
“
I will go
and heal him ,”
Jesus
replied
.
And
he
saith
unto
him,
I will come
and heal him.
The centurion answered, “
Lord, I am not worthy to
have
You
come under my roof .
But just
say the word, and my servant will
be healed.
And
the centurion answered and
said
, Lord, I am not worthy that
thou
shouldest
come under my roof ;
but only
say the word, and my servant shall
be healed.
For I myself
am a man under authority, with
soldiers
under me.
I tell
one
to go, and he goes
; and another
to come, and he comes.
I
tell
my servant to
do something
, and he does
it. ”
For I also
am a man under authority, having
under myself
soldiers:
and
I say
to this
one,
Go, and he goeth
; and to another,
Come, and he cometh;
and
to
my servant ,
Do this
, and he doeth
it.
When Jesus heard this
, He marveled
and said to those
following
Him
, “Truly
I tell
you, I have not found anyone
in
Israel
with
such
great faith.
And
when Jesus heard it
, he marvelled,
and said to them
that
followed
, Verily
I say
unto
you, I have not found so
great faith ,
no,
not
in
Israel
.
I say to
you that many will
come from the east and the west to
share
the
banquet
with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven .
And
I say unto
you ,
that many shall
come from the east and the west ,
and
shall
sit
down
with Abraham, and
Isaac, and Jacob ,
in the kingdom of heaven :
But the sons of the kingdom will
be thrown
into the outer darkness ,
where
there will
be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ”
but the sons of the kingdom shall
be cast
forth
into the outer darkness :
there shall
be the
weeping and the
gnashing of teeth.
Then
Jesus said to
the centurion, “
Go !
As you
have
believed, so will
it
be done for
you
. ”
And his
servant was healed at
that very
hour.
And
Jesus said unto
the centurion, Go thy
way;
as thou
hast
believed, `
so '
be it
done unto
thee
. And the
servant was healed in
that hour.
When Jesus arrived
at
Peter’s
house, He saw Peter’s
mother -in-law
sick in
bed
with
a fever.
And
when Jesus was
come
into
Peter's
house, he saw his
wife's
mother lying
sick of
a fever.
So
He touched her hand, and the fever left her ,
and she got
up
and began
to
serve
them
.
And
he touched her hand, and the fever left her ;
and she arose,
and ministered
unto
him
.
When evening
came
, many who
were
demon-
possessed were
brought
to
Jesus,
and He drove
out the spirits with a word and healed all the
sick .
And
when even
was
come
, they
brought
unto
him
many possessed with
demons:
and he cast
out the spirits with a word ,
and healed all that
were
sick :
This
was
to
fulfill
what
was spoken through the prophet Isaiah
: “He
took on
our infirmities and carried
our diseases. ”
that
it
might
be
fulfilled
which
was spoken through Isaiah
the prophet ,
saying
: Himself
took our infirmities ,
and bare
our diseases.
When Jesus saw a
large
crowd
around
Him, He gave orders
to
cross
to the other side of
the
sea
.
Now
when Jesus saw great
multitudes
about
him, he gave commandments
to depart
unto
the other side.
And one
of
the
scribes
came to
Him
and said, “
Teacher, I will follow You
wherever
You
go
. ”
And there
came a
scribe,
and said unto
him
, Teacher, I will follow thee
whithersoever
thou
goest
.
Jesus replied
, “
Foxes have dens
and birds of the air
have nests ,
but the Son of Man has
no
place
to lay His head. ”
And
Jesus saith
unto
him
, The
foxes have holes,
and the
birds of the heaven
`
have '
nests ;
but the Son of man hath
not
where
to lay his head.
Another of His
disciples requested
, “
Lord, first
let
me go and bury my father. ”
And
another of the
disciples said
unto
him
, Lord, suffer
me first
to
go and bury my father.
But Jesus told
him, “
Follow Me ,
and let
the dead bury their own dead. ”
But Jesus saith
unto
him, Follow me ;
and leave
the dead to
bury their own dead.
When He got
into the
boat, His disciples followed Him.
And
when he was
entered
into a
boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly
a violent
storm
came
up
on
the sea, so
that the boat was engulfed
by
the waves ;
but Jesus
was sleeping
.
And
behold,
there
arose
a great
tempest
in
the sea, insomuch
that the boat was covered
with
the waves :
but he
was asleep
.
The
disciples
went
and woke
Him, saying
, “Lord
, save us!
We are
perishing!”
And they
came
to
him, and
awoke
him
, saying
, Save ,
Lord;
we perish.
“You
of
little
faith,”
Jesus
replied
, “
why are you
so
afraid
? ”
Then He got
up
and rebuked the winds and the sea ,
and it
was perfectly
calm.
And
he
saith
unto
them
, Why are ye
fearful,
O
ye
of
little
faith
? Then he arose,
and rebuked the winds and the sea ;
and there
was a
great
calm.
The men were
amazed
and
asked
, “
What kind
of man is this ?
Even the winds and the sea obey Him !”
And
the men marvelled
, saying,
What manner
of man is this ,
that
even the winds and the sea obey him ?
When Jesus
arrived
on
the other side in
the region
of the Gadarenes, He
was
met by
two demon-
possessed men
coming from
the tombs .
They
were
so violent
that no one
could pass that way.
And
when he
was
come
to
the other side into
the country
of the Gadarenes, there
met him
two possessed with
demons,
coming forth
out
of
the tombs ,
exceeding
fierce,
so that no man
could pass by
that way.
“
What do You
want
with us
, Son of God? ”
they
shouted.
“Have
You
come here
to torture
us before the appointed
time? ”
And
behold,
they
cried
out,
saying,
What have
we
to
do with thee
, thou
Son of God? art
thou
come hither
to torment
us before the time?
In
the
distance
a large
herd of pigs
was
feeding.
Now
there
was
afar
off
from
them
a herd of many
swine
feeding.
So
the demons begged
Jesus
, “
If You
drive
us out, send us into the herd of pigs
. ”
And
the demons besought
him
, saying,
If thou
cast
us out, send us away
into the herd of swine
.
“Go!”
He told
them. So
they came out and went into the pigs,
and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank
into the sea and died
in the waters.
And
he said
unto
them ,
Go
. And
they came out ,
and went into the swine:
and behold,
the whole herd rushed down the steep into the sea ,
and perished
in the waters.
Those
tending
the
pigs
ran
off
into the town
and reported
all
this
, including
the
account
of
the
demon-
possessed men
.
And
they
that
fed
them
fled,
and
went
away
into the city,
and told
everything
, and
what
was
befallen
to
them
that
were
possessed with
demons
.
Then
the whole
town
went
out to meet Jesus .
And when they saw Him, they begged
Him to
leave
their region
.
And
behold,
all
the city
came
out to meet Jesus :
and when they saw him, they besought
`
him '
that
he
would
depart
from
their borders
.
