In
the
end
of
the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward
the first day of the week, came
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre
.
Now
after
the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on
the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came
to see the tomb
.
And,
behold, there was a great earthquake :
for the
angel of the Lord descended from heaven
, and came and rolled back
the stone from the door, and sat upon
it.
Behold, there was a great earthquake ,
for an
angel of the Lord descended from the
sky
, and came and rolled away
the stone from the door, and sat on
it.
His countenance
was like lightning, and his raiment
white as snow :
His appearance
was like lightning, and his clothing
white as snow .
And
for fear of him the keepers
did
shake
, and became as
dead men.
For fear of him ,
the guards
shook
, and became like
dead men.
And
the angel answered and
said
unto
the women, Fear
not
ye:
for I know that ye
seek Jesus, which
was
crucified.
The angel answered the women, "Don't
be
afraid,
for I know that you
seek Jesus, who
has
been
crucified.
He is not here :
for he is
risen, as
he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay
.
He is not here ,
for he has
risen, just
like
he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was
lying
.
And
go quickly ,
and tell his disciples that
he is
risen from the dead ;
and
, behold, he goeth
before you into Galilee; there shall
ye
see him :
lo
, I have told you.
Go quickly and tell his disciples ,
'
He has
risen from the dead, and
behold, he goes
before you into Galilee; there you
will
see him .'
Behold
, I have told you. "
And
they departed quickly from the sepulchre
with fear and great joy ;
and did
run
to bring his disciples word.
They departed quickly from the tomb
with fear and great joy ,
and ran
to bring his disciples word.
And
as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All
hail.
And
they came and held
him
by
the
feet, and worshipped
him.
As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!"
They came and took
hold
of
his
feet, and worshiped
him.
Then said
Jesus unto
them, Be not
afraid :
go tell my brethren
that they go into Galilee, and there shall
they see me.
Then Jesus said
to
them, "Don't
be afraid .
Go tell my brothers
that they should
go into Galilee, and there they will
see me. "
Now when
they were going, behold, some of the watch
came into the city, and shewed
unto
the chief priests all the things that were
done
.
Now while
they were going, behold, some of the guards
came into the city, and told
the chief priests all the things that had
happened
.
And
when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money
unto
the soldiers,
When they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave a
large amount
of
silver
to
the soldiers,
Saying, Say ye,
His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
saying, "
Say that
his disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
And
if this come
to the governor's ears, we will persuade him ,
and secure
you.
If this comes
to the governor's ears, we will persuade him and make
you free
of
worry
. "
So they took the money ,
and did as they were taught:
and
this saying is
commonly
reported
among the Jews until this day.
So they took the money and did as they were told.
This saying was
spread
abroad
among the Jews ,
and
continues
until this day.
Then
the eleven disciples went away
into Galilee, into
a
mountain where Jesus had appointed
them.
But
the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to
the
mountain where Jesus had sent
them.
And
when they saw him, they worshipped
him :
but some doubted.
When they saw him, they bowed
down
to
him ,
but some doubted.
And
Jesus came and spake
unto
them, saying, All power
is
given unto
me in heaven and in
earth.
Jesus came to
them
and spoke
to
them, saying, "
All authority
has
been
given to
me in heaven and on
earth.
Go
ye
therefore, and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father ,
and of the Son ,
and of the Holy Ghost:
Therefore go
, and make
disciples
of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have
commanded you :
and,
lo
, I am with you alway
, even unto
the end of the world
. Amen.
teaching them to observe all things that
I commanded you .
Behold
, I am with you always
, even to
the end of the age
. "
Amen.
