At that time ,
Herod the tetrarch heard the report
concerning
Jesus,
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of
the fame
of
Jesus,
and said to
his servants, "
This is John the Baptizer.
He is risen from the dead .
That
is
why
these
powers
work
in him. "
And said unto
his servants, This is John the Baptist;
he is risen from the dead ;
and
therefore
mighty
works
do
shew
forth
themselves
in him.
For Herod had laid hold of
John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the
sake
of
Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.

For John said to
him, "
It is not lawful for you
to have her. "

The king was grieved,

for the sake of
his
oaths
, and of
those
who
sat at
the
table
with him, he commanded it to be given ,
And
the king was sorry:
nevertheless
for the oath's
sake, and them
which
sat with him at
meat
, he commanded it to be given her.
and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.
And he sent ,
and beheaded John in the prison.
His head was brought on
a platter
, and given to the young
lady
: and she brought it to her mother.
And
his head was brought in
a charger
, and given to the damsel
: and she brought it to her mother.
His disciples came, and took the body, and buried it ;
and they
went and told Jesus.
And

and went and told Jesus.
Now
when Jesus heard this
, he withdrew
from
there
in
a
boat,
to
a deserted
place apart .
When the multitudes
heard it
, they followed him on foot from
the cities.
When Jesus heard of
it
, he departed
thence
by
ship
into
a desert
place apart :
and
when the people
had
heard thereof
, they followed him on foot out
of
the cities.
Jesus went out
, and he
saw a great multitude .
He
had
compassion on
them, and healed their sick.
And
Jesus went forth
, and saw a great multitude ,
and
was
moved
with
compassion toward
them, and he
healed their sick.
When evening had
come
, his disciples came to him, saying, "
This place
is deserted
, and the hour
is already
late.
Send the multitudes
away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food
. "
And
when it
was
evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a
desert
place
, and the time
is now
past;
send the multitude
away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals
.
But Jesus said to
them, "
They don't
need to
go
away.
You
give them something
to eat. "
But Jesus said unto
them, They need not
depart;
give ye
them to eat.
They told
him, "
We only
have here five loaves and two fish
. "
And
they say
unto
him, We have here but
five loaves ,
and two fishes
.
He said, "
Bring them here
to me. "
He said, Bring them hither
to me.
He commanded the multitudes
to sit down on the grass ;
and he
took the five loaves and the two fish
, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke
and gave the loaves to the
disciples, and the disciples gave
to the multitudes
.
And
he commanded the multitude

They all ate
, and were filled .
They took up twelve
baskets
full
of that which

full
.
Those
who
ate
were about five thousand men, besides
women and children.
And
they
that
had
eaten
were about five thousand men, beside
women and children.
Immediately
Jesus made
the
disciples get into the
boat
, and to go ahead
of
him to
the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
And
straightway
Jesus constrained
his
disciples to
get into a
ship
, and to go before
him unto
the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
After
he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the
mountain by
himself
to pray .
When evening had
come, he was there alone.
And
when
he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a
mountain apart
to pray :
and
when the
evening was
come, he was there alone.
But the boat
was now in the middle
of the sea, distressed
by
the
waves ,
for the wind was contrary.
But the ship
was now in the midst
of the sea, tossed
with
waves :
for the wind was contrary.
In the fourth watch of the night ,
Jesus came
to
them, walking on the sea.
And
in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went
unto
them, walking on the sea.
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's
a ghost!"
and they cried out for fear.
And
when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It
is
a spirit;
and they cried out for fear.
But immediately
Jesus spoke
to
them, saying "
Cheer up!
I AM!
Don't
be afraid. "
But straightway
Jesus spake
unto
them, saying ,
Be
of
good
cheer ;
it
is
I ;
be not
afraid.
Peter answered him and said, "
Lord, if it is
you
, command
me to
come to
you
on the waters
. "
And
Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be
thou
, bid
me come unto
thee
on the water
.
He said, "
Come !"
Peter stepped
down from
the boat
, and
walked on the waters
to come
to Jesus.
And
he said, Come .
And
when
Peter was
come
down out
of
the ship
, he
walked on the water,
to go
to Jesus.
But when he saw that
the wind was
strong
, he was afraid ,
and beginning to sink, he cried out
, saying, "
Lord, save me !"
But when he saw the wind boisterous
, he was afraid ;
and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me .
Immediately Jesus stretched out
his hand, took
hold
of
him, and said to
him, "You
of little faith, why
did
you
doubt? "
And
immediately Jesus stretched forth
his hand, and
caught
him, and said unto
him, O
thou
of little faith, wherefore
didst
thou
doubt?
When they got
up
into the boat
, the wind ceased.
And
when they were
come
into the ship
, the wind ceased.
Those
who
were in the boat
came and worshiped
him, saying, "You
are
truly
the Son of God !"
Then
they
that
were in the ship
came and worshipped
him, saying, Of
a
truth
thou
art
the Son of God .
When they had
crossed
over, they came to
the land of Gennesaret.
And
when they were
gone
over, they came into
the land of Gennesaret.
When the men of that place recognized
him, they sent into all that surrounding
region
, and brought to
him all who
were sick,
And
when the men of that place had
knowledge
of
him, they sent out
into all that country
round
about
, and brought unto
him all that
were diseased;
and they
begged
him that they might just
touch the fringe
of his garment .
As many as touched it
were made whole.
And besought
him that they might only
touch the hem
of his garment :
and
as many as touched were made perfectly
whole.
