Then the Pharisees, and some
of the scribes gathered
together
to
him
, having
come
from Jerusalem.
Then came
together
unto
him
the Pharisees, and certain
of the scribes, which
came
from Jerusalem.
Now
when they saw some of his disciples eating
bread with defiled, that is, unwashed
, hands, they found fault.
And
when they saw some of his disciples eat
bread with defiled, that is to
say
, with
unwashen
, hands, they found fault.
(
For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, don't
eat
unless
they wash their hands and
forearms
, holding to
the tradition of the elders.
For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except
they wash their hands oft
, eat
not,
holding the tradition of the elders.
They
don't
eat
when they come from the marketplace
, unless
they bathe
themselves
, and there
are
many other things, which they have received to hold to:
washings
of cups, pitchers
, bronze
vessels, and couches
. )
And
when they come from the market
, except
they wash
, they
eat
not.
And many other things there
be
, which they have received to hold ,
as
the
washing
of cups, and
pots
, brasen
vessels, and of
tables
.
The Pharisees and the
scribes asked him, "
Why don't
your
disciples
walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their
bread with unwashed
hands? "
Then
the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not
thy
disciples
according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen
hands?
He answered them, "
Well did
Isaiah
prophesy
of you hypocrites, as it is written, '
This people honors
me with their lips, But their heart is far from me.
He answered and
said
unto
them, Well hath
Esaias
prophesied
of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth
me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
But
in vain do they worship me, Teaching as
doctrines the commandments of men. '
Howbeit
in vain do they worship me, teaching for
doctrines the commandments of men.
"
For you
set
aside the commandment of God, and
hold tightly
to
the tradition of men --
the washing of pitchers
and cups ,
and you
do
many other such things. "
For laying
aside the commandment of God, ye
hold the tradition of men ,
as
the washing of pots
and cups :
and many other such like
things ye
do
.
He said to
them, "
Full well do
you
reject the commandment of God, that you
may keep your tradition.
And
he said unto
them, Full well ye
reject the commandment of God, that ye
may keep your own
tradition.
For Moses said, 'Honor
your
father and your
mother; '
and, 'He
who
speaks
evil
of
father or mother, let him be
put
to
death .'
For Moses said, Honour
thy
father and thy
mother; and, Whoso
curseth
father or mother, let him die
the
death :
But you
say, '
If a man tells
his father or his
mother, "Whatever
profit
you
might
have
received
from
me
is Corban, that is to say, given
to
God
; "'
But ye
say, If a man shall
say
to
his father or mother, It
is Corban, that is to say, a
gift,
by
whatsoever
thou
mightest
be
profited
by
me
; he
shall
be
free.
then
you
no
longer
allow
him to do anything
for his father or his mother ,
And
ye
suffer
him no
more
to do ought
for his father or his mother ;
making void
the word of God by
your tradition, which you
have handed
down.
You
do
many things
like this
. "
Making the word of God of
none
effect
through
your tradition, which ye
have delivered:
and
many such
like things
do
ye
.
He called all the multitude
to
himself
, and
said to
them, "Hear
me ,
all
of you, and understand .
And
when
he had
called all the people
unto
him
, he
said unto
them, Hearken
unto
me every
one
of you, and understand :
There is nothing from outside
of
the
man, that going
into him can defile him ;
but the things which proceed
out of the
man
are
those that defile the man.
There is nothing from without
a
man, that entering
into him can defile him :
but the things which come
out of him,
those are
they
that defile the man.
If anyone
has
ears to hear, let him hear !"
If any
man
have
ears to hear, let him hear .
When he had
entered into a
house away
from the multitude
, his disciples asked him about
the parable.
And
when he was
entered into the
house from the people
, his disciples asked him concerning
the parable.
He said
to
them, "
Are you
thus
without understanding also? Don't
you
perceive that whatever
goes
into the man from
outside
can't
defile him ,
And
he saith
unto
them, Are ye
so
without understanding also? Do
ye
not
perceive ,
that whatsoever
thing
from
without
entereth
into the man ,
it
cannot
defile him ;
because it doesn't
go
into his heart, but into his
stomach
, then
into the latrine
, thus
making
all foods
clean
? "
Because it entereth
not
into his heart, but into the
belly
, and
goeth
out
into the draught
, purging
all meats
?
He said, "
That which proceeds
out of the man, that defiles
the man.
And
he said, That which cometh
out of the man, that defileth
the man.
For from within, out of the hearts
of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual
sins
, murders, thefts,
For from within, out of the heart
of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications
, murders,
covetings
, wickedness, deceit, lustful
desires
, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and
foolishness .
Thefts
, covetousness,
wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness
, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness :
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. "

From there
he arose, and went away
into the borders of Tyre and Sidon .
He
entered into a
house, and didn't
want
anyone
to
know it ,
but he couldn't
escape
notice
.
And
from thence
he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon ,
and
entered into an
house, and would
have
no
man
know it :
but he could
not
be
hid
.
For a woman, whose little
daughter had an unclean spirit, having
heard of him, came and fell down
at his feet .
For a certain
woman, whose young
daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and
came and fell at his feet :
Now
the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician
by race.
She begged
him that he would cast the demon
out of her daughter.

she besought
him that he would cast forth
the devil
out of her daughter.
But Jesus said to
her, "
Let the children be filled first,
for it is not appropriate
to take the children's bread and throw
it
to the dogs. "
But Jesus said unto
her, Let the children first

for it is not meet
to take the children's bread ,
and to cast
it
unto
the dogs.
But
she answered him, "
Yes, Lord .
Yet even
the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs. "
And
she answered and
said
unto
him, Yes, Lord :
yet the dogs under the table eat of
the children's crumbs.
He said to
her, "
For this saying ,
go your
way .
The demon
has
gone out of your
daughter. "
And
he said unto
her, For this saying go thy
way ;
the devil
is
gone out of thy
daughter.
She went
away
to her house, and
found the child
having
been
laid on
the bed ,
with
the
demon
gone
out
.
And
when
she was
come
to her house, she
found the devil
gone
out,
and
her
daughter
laid upon
the bed.
Again he
departed
from the borders
of Tyre and Sidon, and
came to
the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region
of Decapolis.
And
again ,
departing
from the coasts
of Tyre and Sidon, he
came unto
the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts
of Decapolis.
They brought
to
him one who
was deaf and had an impediment in his speech .
They begged
him to lay
his hand on
him.
And
they bring
unto
him one that
was deaf ,
and had an impediment in his speech ;
and
they beseech
him to put
his hand upon
him.
He took him aside from the multitude, privately,
and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat
, and touched his tongue .
And

Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said
to
him, "
Ephphatha !"
that is, "
Be opened !"
And
looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith
unto
him, Ephphatha ,
that is, Be opened .
Immediately
his ears were opened, and the impediment
of his tongue was released
, and he spoke
clearly
.
And
straightway
his ears were opened, and the string
of his tongue was loosed
, and he spake
plain
.
He commanded
them that they should tell no one,
but the more he commanded
them, so much the more widely
they proclaimed
it .
And
he charged
them that they should tell no man:
but the more he charged
them, so much the more a
great
deal
they published
it ;
They
were astonished
beyond measure, saying, "
He has
done all things well .
He makes
even
the deaf hear, and the mute
speak !"
And
were beyond measure astonished
, saying, He hath
done all things well :
he maketh
both
the deaf to
hear, and the dumb
to
speak .
