He went out from there.
He
came into his own country ,
and his disciples followed
him.

he went out from thence,

When the Sabbath had
come, he began to teach in the synagogue ,
and many hearing him were astonished, saying, "Where
did
this man get
these things? "
and ,
"
What is
the
wisdom that
is given
to
this man
, that such mighty works come
about
by his hands?
And
when the sabbath day
was
come, he began to teach in the synagogue :
and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From
whence
hath
this man these things? and what wisdom is this which
is
given
unto
him
, that even
such mighty works are
wrought
by his hands?
Isn't
this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and
brother of James, Joses, Judas
, and Simon? Aren't
his sisters here with us? "
They were offended at him.
Is
not
this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the
brother of James, and
Joses, and
of
Juda
, and Simon? and
are
not
his sisters here with us? And
they were offended at him.
Jesus said to
them, "
A prophet is not without honor
, except
in his own country, and among his own relatives
, and in his own house. "
But
Jesus ,
said unto
them, A prophet is not without honour
, but
in his own country, and among his own kin
, and in his own house.
He could do no mighty work there
, except
that he laid his hands on
a few sick people
, and healed them.
And
he could there
do no mighty work, save
that he laid his hands upon
a few sick folk
, and healed them.
He marveled
because of their unbelief. He went around
the villages teaching.
And

He called to

till
ye
depart from that
place
.
Whoever
will
not receive you nor hear you, as
you
depart from
there
, shake off the dust that
is
under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly,
I tell
you, it will
be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah
in the day of judgment than for that city !"
And
whosoever
shall
not receive you ,
nor hear you, when
ye
depart thence
, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily
I say
unto
you, It shall

than for that city .
They went out and preached that people
should repent.
And

They cast out many demons
, and anointed many
with oil who
were sick, and healed them.

they cast out many devils

that
were sick, and healed them.
King Herod heard this,
for his name had
become
known,
and he said, "
John the Baptizer
has
risen from the dead, and therefore these
powers
are
at
work
in him. "
And
king Herod heard of
him;
(
for his name was
spread
abroad:)
and he said, That
John the Baptist
was
risen from the dead, and therefore mighty
works
do
shew
forth
themselves
in him.
But
others said, "
It is Elijah
. "
Others said, "
It is the
Prophet, or like
one of the prophets. "
Others said, That
it is Elias
. And
others said, That
it is a
prophet, or as
one of the prophets.
But Herod,
when he
heard this
, said, "This
is John, whom I beheaded .
He has
risen from the dead. "
But when Herod
heard thereof
, he
said, It
is John, whom I beheaded :
he is
risen from the dead.
For Herod himself had sent out
and arrested
John, and bound him in prison for the
sake
of
Herodias, his brother Philip's wife ,
for he had married her.
For Herod himself had sent forth
and laid
hold
upon
John, and bound him in prison for Herodias '
sake
, his brother Philip's wife :
for he had married her.
For John said to
Herod, "
It is not lawful for you
to have your
brother's wife. "
For John had
said unto
Herod, It is not lawful for thee
to have thy
brother's wife.
Herodias set
herself
against him, and desired
to
kill
him ,
but she couldn't,
Therefore
Herodias had
a
quarrel
against him, and would
have
killed
him ;
but she could
not:
for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous
and holy man
, and kept
him safe.
When he heard him, he did many things, and he
heard him gladly.
For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just

holy, and observed
him ;
and

Then
a convenient day came
, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for
his nobles
, the
high officers
, and the
chief men
of Galilee .

came in and danced, she
pleased Herod and those

The king said to

that
sat
with him ,
the king said unto
the damsel
, Ask of
me whatsoever
thou
wilt
, and I will give it thee
.
He swore
to
her, "Whatever
you
shall
ask of me, I will give you
, up
to
half of my kingdom. "
And
he sware
unto
her, Whatsoever
thou
shalt
ask of me, I will give it
thee
, unto
the
half of my kingdom.
She went out
, and said to
her mother, "
What shall I ask? "
She said, "
The head of John the Baptizer
. "
And
she went forth
, and said unto
her mother, What shall I ask? And
she said, The head of John the Baptist
.
She came in immediately
with haste to
the king, and asked, "
I want
you
to
give me right
now
the head of John the Baptizer
on
a
platter
. "
And
she came in straightway
with haste unto
the king, and asked, saying,
I will
that
thou
give me by
and
by
in
a
charger
the head of John the Baptist
.
The king was exceedingly
sorry ,
but
for the
sake
of
his oaths
, and of
his
dinner
guests
, he didn't
wish
to
refuse
her.
And
the king was exceeding
sorry ;
yet
for his oath's
sake
, and for
their
sakes
which
sat
with
him
, he would
not
reject
her.
Immediately the king sent out
a
soldier
of
his
guard
, and commanded to
bring
John's
head ,
and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
And
immediately the king sent an
executioner
, and commanded his
head to
be
brought:
and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
and brought his head on
a platter
, and gave it to the young
lady;
and the young
lady
gave it to her mother.
And brought his head in
a charger
, and gave it to the damsel:

When his disciples heard this

the day, his disciples came to
him, and said, "
This place
is deserted

him, and said, This is a
desert
place
, and now
the time
is
far
passed:
Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding
country and villages, and buy themselves bread ,
for they have nothing to eat. "

He commanded them that
everyone
should
sit down in
groups
on
the green grass.
And
he commanded them to
make

sit down by
companies
upon

They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.

After
he had taken
leave
of
them, he went
up

mountain to pray.

when
he had sent
them away
, he departed
into
a
mountain to pray.
When evening
had
come, the boat
was in the midst of the sea, and he was
alone on the land.
And
when even
was
come, the ship
was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
Seeing
them distressed
in rowing ,
for the wind was contrary to
them ,
about the fourth watch of the night he came
to
them, walking on
the sea, and he
would have passed by them ,
And
he
saw
them toiling
in rowing ;
for the wind was contrary unto
them :
and
about the fourth watch of the night he cometh
unto
them, walking upon
the sea, and would have passed by them .
but they,
when they saw him walking on
the sea, supposed that
it was
a ghost
, and cried out ;
But when they saw him walking upon
the sea, they
supposed it had
been
a spirit
, and cried out :
for they all saw him, and were troubled. But
he
immediately spoke
with them, and said
to
them, "
Cheer up!
It is I !
Don't
be afraid. "
For they all saw him, and were troubled. And
immediately he
talked
with them, and saith
unto
them, Be
of
good
cheer :
it is I ;
be not
afraid.
He got
into the boat
with
them
; and the wind ceased ,
and they were very
amazed among
themselves, and marveled;
And
he went
up
unto
them
into the ship
; and the wind ceased :
and they were sore
amazed in
themselves beyond
measure
, and wondered.
for they hadn't
understood
about
the loaves ,
but
their hearts
were
hardened.
For they considered
not
the miracle
of
the
loaves :
for
their heart
was
hardened.
When they had crossed
over, they came to
land at
Gennesaret, and moored
to the shore.
And
when they had passed
over, they came into
the
land of
Gennesaret, and drew
to the shore.
When they had
come out of the boat
, immediately
the
people
recognized
him,
And
when they were
come out of the ship
, straightway
they
knew
him,
and ran around
that whole region, and began to bring
those who
were sick, on
their
mats,
to
where they heard he was.
And ran through
that whole region round
about
, and began to carry
about
in
beds
those that
were sick, where they heard he was.
Wherever
he entered, into villages, or into
cities, or into
the
country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces
, and begged
him that they might touch just
the fringe
of his garment ;
and as many as touched him were made well
.
And
whithersoever
he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets
, and besought
him that they might touch if
it
were
but
the border
of his garment :
and as many as touched him were made whole
.
