Once
again
Jesus
entered the synagogue, and a man with
a
withered
hand
was
there.
He
entered again
into
the synagogue, and there
was
a man there who
had
his
hand
withered
.
In
order
to
accuse
Jesus,
they were
watching
to
see
if
He would heal on the Sabbath.
They watched
him,
whether
he would heal him
on the Sabbath day,
that
they
might
accuse
him
.
Then
Jesus
said to the man with
the
withered
hand, “
Stand up among
us
. ”
He
said to the man who
had
his
hand withered
, "
Stand up. "
And
He asked
them, “Which
is lawful on the Sabbath :
to do good or to do evil,
to save life or to destroy
it
? ”
But they were silent.
He said
to
them, "
Is it
lawful on the Sabbath day
to do good ,
or to do harm?
To save a
life ,
or to kill
? "
But they were silent.
Jesus
looked around at them with anger and
sorrow
at their
hardness
of heart.
Then
He said to the man, “
Stretch out your hand. ”
So
he stretched it out, and it
was restored.
When
he
had
looked around at them with anger ,
being
grieved
at the
hardening
of their
hearts,
he said to the man, "
Stretch out your hand. "
He stretched it out, and his
hand
was restored as
healthy
as
the
other
.
At
this,
the Pharisees went out and began
plotting
with the Herodians how they might kill
Jesus
.
The Pharisees went out ,
and immediately
conspired
with the Herodians against
him,
how they might destroy
him
.
So
Jesus withdrew with
His
disciples
to the sea, accompanied
by
a large
crowd
from Galilee, Judea,
Jesus withdrew to the sea with
his
disciples
, and
a great
multitude
followed
him
from Galilee, from
Judea,
Jerusalem, Idumea
, the
region
beyond the Jordan, and the
vicinity
of
Tyre and Sidon. The
large
crowd
came
to
Him
when
they
heard
what great things He was
doing
.
from
Jerusalem, from
Idumaea
, beyond the Jordan, and those
from
around
Tyre and Sidon. A
great
multitude,
hearing
what great things he did,
came
to
him
.
Jesus
asked
His disciples to
have
a boat ready
for
Him so
that
the crowd would
not
crush
Him.
He
spoke
to
his disciples that
a little
boat should
stay
near
him because
of
the crowd ,
so
that
they
wouldn't
press
on
him.
For He had healed so
many that all
who
had diseases were
pressing
forward
to
touch Him.
For he had healed many ,
so
that as
many
as
had diseases pressed
on
him
that
they
might
touch him.
And
when
the unclean spirits saw Him, they
fell down before Him and cried out
, “
You are the Son of God! ”
The unclean spirits ,
whenever
they
saw him, fell down before him ,
and cried, "
You are the Son of God! "
But
He warned them sternly
not to
make Him known.
He sternly
warned them that
they
should
not make him known.
Then
Jesus
went up on
the mountain and called for
those He wanted, and they came
to Him.
He
went up into
the mountain ,
and called to
himself
those whom
he wanted, and they went
to him.
He appointed twelve of
them
, whom
He
designated
as
apostles,
to
accompany
Him, to
be
sent
out to preach,
He appointed twelve, that
they
might
be
with
him, and
that
he
might
send
them
out to preach,
and to have authority to drive
out demons .
and to have authority to heal
sicknesses
and
to
cast
out demons :
These
are
the
twelve
He
appointed:
Simon (
whom He named
Peter ),
Simon ,
to
whom he gave
the
name
Peter ;
James son of Zebedee and
his
brother
John (whom
He named
Boanerges, meaning
“
Sons of Thunder ”),
James the
son of Zebedee ;
John ,
the
brother
of
James,
and
he surnamed
them
Boanerges, which
means,
Sons of Thunder ;
Andrew ,
Philip ,
Bartholomew ,
Matthew ,
Thomas ,
James son of Alphaeus ,
Thaddaeus ,
Simon the Zealot ,
Andrew ;
Philip ;
Bartholomew ;
Matthew ;
Thomas ;
James ,
the
son of Alphaeus ;
Thaddaeus ;
Simon the Zealot ;
and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus
.
and Judas Iscariot, who also
betrayed him
. He
came
into
a
house.
Then
Jesus
went
home,
and
once
again a
crowd
gathered
, so that He
and
His
disciples
could not even
eat.
The
multitude
came
together
again, so that they
could not so
much
as
eat bread
.
When His family
heard about
this
, they went out to take
custody
of
Him ,
saying
, “
He is out
of
His
mind
. ”
When his friends
heard it
, they went out to seize
him :
for
they
said
, "
He is insane
. "
And
the scribes who had
come
down from Jerusalem were
saying
, “
He is
possessed
by
Beelzebul, ”
and, “
By the prince of the demons He drives
out demons. ”
The scribes who came
down from Jerusalem said
, "
He has
Beelzebul, "
and, "
By the prince of the demons he casts
out the
demons. "
So
Jesus
called
them together
and began
to
speak
to them in parables :
“
How can Satan drive
out Satan?
He
summoned
them ,
and said
to them in parables ,
"
How can Satan cast
out Satan?
If a kingdom is divided against itself, it
cannot stand.
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that
kingdom
cannot stand.
If a house is divided against itself, it
cannot stand.
If a house is divided against itself, that
house
cannot stand.
And
if Satan is
divided
and
rises
against himself, he cannot
stand ;
his
end
has come
.
If Satan has
risen
up
against himself, and
is
divided,
he can't
stand ,
but
has an
end
.
Indeed,
no one can enter a
strong
man’s
house to steal
his
possessions
unless he first ties
up
the strong man .
Then he can
plunder his house.
But
no one can enter into
the
house of
the
strong
man
to plunder,
unless he first binds
the strong man ;
and
then he will
plunder his house.
Truly
I tell you, the sons
of men
will be forgiven all
sins
and
blasphemies
, as
many
as
they utter.
Most
assuredly
I tell you, all
of
the children
of men's
sins
will be forgiven them
, including
their
blasphemies
with
which
they may
blaspheme;
But whoever blasphemes
against the Holy Spirit will
never be
forgiven;
he
is guilty of eternal sin .”
but whoever may
blaspheme
against the Holy Spirit never has
forgiveness,
but
is guilty of an
eternal sin "
Jesus
made
this
statement
because they were
saying
, “
He has an unclean spirit. ”
--
because they said
, "
He has an unclean spirit. "
Then
Jesus’
mother and brothers came and stood
outside .
They sent someone
in
to summon
Him,
His
mother and his
brothers came ,
and standing
outside ,
they sent to him, calling
him.
and
a crowd
was sitting around Him .
“Look
, ”
He
was
told, “
Your mother and
brothers are outside ,
asking
for You. ”
A multitude
was sitting around him, and
they
told him
, "Behold,
your mother ,
your
brothers ,
and
your
sisters
are outside looking
for you. "
But
Jesus
replied
, “
Who are My mother and My brothers? ”
He
answered
them
, "
Who are my mother and my brothers? "
Looking at those seated
in
a
circle
around Him, He said, “Here
are
My mother and My brothers!
Looking around
at those who
sat
around him, he said, "Behold,
my mother and my brothers!
For whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother. ”
For whoever does the will of God ,
the
same
is my brother ,
and my
sister ,
and mother. "
