Going directly to Jesus , he said , Rabbi !” and kissed Him.

And the chief priests and all the sanhedrim were seeking against Jesus testimony -- to put him to death, and they were not finding,
Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but they did not find any.

For many bore false witness against Jesus , but their testimony was inconsistent .
And certain having risen up , were bearing false testimony against him , saying --
Then some men stood up and testified falsely against Him :
` We heard him saying -- I will throw down this sanctuary made with hands , and by three days , another made without hands I will build;'
We heard Him say, I will destroy this man- made temple , and in three days I will build another that is made without hands .’”
and neither so was their testimony alike .
But even their testimony was inconsistent .
And the chief priest , having risen up in the midst, questioned Jesus, saying, `Thou dost not answer anything! what do these testify against thee ? '
So the high priest stood up before them and questioned Jesus, “Have You no answer ? What are these men testifying against You ?
and he was keeping silent , and did not answer anything . Again the chief priest was questioning him, and saith to him, `Art thou the Christ -- the Son of the Blessed? '

and saw him warming himself there. She looked at Peter and said, “You also were with Jesus the Nazarene.”
and he denied , saying, ` I have not known `him', neither do I understand what thou sayest;' and he went forth without to the porch , and a cock crew .
But he denied it. I do not know or even understand what you are talking about,” he said. Then he went out to the gateway , and the rooster crowed .
And the maid having seen him again , began to say to those standing near -- ` This is of them ;'
There the servant girl saw him and again said to those standing nearby, This man is one of them .”
and he was again denying . And after a little again , those standing near said to Peter, `Truly thou art of them, for thou also art a Galilean , and thy speech is alike;'
But he denied it again. After a little while , those standing nearby said once more to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you too are a Galilean .”
and he began to anathematize, and to swear -- ` I have not known this man of whom ye speak ;'
But he began to curse and swear , I do not know this man of whom you speak !”
and a second time a cock crew, and Peter remembered the saying that Jesus said to him -- ` Before a cock crow twice, thou mayest deny me thrice;' and having thought thereon -- he was weeping .
And immediately the rooster crowed a second time . Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken to him : Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And he broke down and wept .
