Jesus
said to His
disciples, “
It is inevitable
that stumbling blocks
will
come, but woe to the
one
through whom they come!
He
said to the
disciples, "
It is impossible
that no
occasions
of
stumbling should
come, but woe to him
through whom they come!
It would be better for him to
have
a millstone hung around his neck and to
be
thrown into the sea than to
cause one of these little ones to stumble.
It would be better for him if
a millstone were
hung around his neck ,
and he
were
thrown into the sea ,
rather
than that
he
should
cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Watch
yourselves
. If your brother sins, rebuke him ;
and
if he repents, forgive him.
Be
careful
. If your brother sins against
you
, rebuke him .
If he repents, forgive him.
Even
if he sins against you seven times in a
day, and seven times returns to
say
, ‘
I repent, ’
you must
forgive him. ”
If he sins against you seven times in the
day, and seven times returns, saying,
'
I repent, '
you shall
forgive him. "
The apostles said to the Lord, “
Increase our faith !”
The apostles said to the Lord, "
Increase our faith ."
And
the Lord answered
, “
If you have
faith the
size
of
a mustard seed, you can
say
to
this mulberry
tree, ‘
Be uprooted and planted in the sea, ’
and it will
obey you.
The Lord said
, "
If you had
faith like
a grain
of
mustard seed, you would
tell
this sycamore
tree, '
Be uprooted ,
and be
planted in the sea, '
and it would
obey you.
Which
of
you whose
servant comes
in
from
plowing or shepherding
in the field will
say
to
him
, ‘
Come at
once
and sit down to
eat’?
But
who
is
there
among
you ,
having
a
servant plowing or keeping
sheep,
that
will
say,
when
he
comes
in from
the field, '
Come immediately
and sit down at
the
table,'
Instead,
won’t
he
tell him, ‘
Prepare my meal
and
dress
yourself to
serve me while I eat and drink ;
and
afterward you may
eat and drink ’
?
and
will
not
rather
tell him, '
Prepare my supper,
clothe
yourself properly,
and
serve me ,
while I eat and drink .
Afterward you shall
eat and drink '
?
Does he thank the
servant because he did what
he
was
told
?
Does he thank that
servant because he did the
things
that
were
commanded
? I
think
not.
So you also, when you have done everything
commanded of
you, should
say, ‘
We are unworthy servants ;
we have only
done our duty. ’”
Even
so you also, when you have done all
the
things
that
are
commanded you, say, '
We are unworthy servants .
We have done our duty. '"
While
Jesus
was on His way to Jerusalem, He was passing between
Samaria and Galilee.
It
happened
as
he
was on his way to Jerusalem, that
he was passing along
the
borders
of
Samaria and Galilee.
As He entered one
of
the
villages
, He
was
met
by
ten lepers .
They
stood at a distance
As he entered into
a
certain
village
, ten men
who
were
lepers met
him,
who
stood at a distance .
and
raised
their voices, shouting
, “
Jesus, Master, have mercy on us! ”
They
lifted
up
their voices, saying
, "
Jesus, Master, have mercy on us! "
When Jesus
saw them, He said, “
Go ,
show yourselves to the priests. ”
And
as they were
on
their
way
, they were cleansed.
When he
saw them, he said to
them
, "
Go and
show yourselves to the priests. "
It
happened
that
as they went
, they were cleansed.
When
one of them saw that he was healed, he
came
back, praising
God in
a loud voice.
One of them ,
when
he
saw that he was healed, turned
back, glorifying
God with
a loud voice.
He fell facedown
at Jesus ’
feet in
thanksgiving
to
Him —
and he was a Samaritan.
He fell on
his
face
at Jesus '
feet ,
giving
him thanks;
and he was a Samaritan.
“Were
not
all
ten cleansed? ”
Jesus
asked.
“
Where then
are the other
nine?
Jesus
answered,
"Weren't
the
ten cleansed? But
where are the nine?
Was
no
one
found except
this
foreigner
to return
and
give glory to God? ”
Were
there
none
found who
returned
to give glory to God ,
except
this
stranger
? "
Then Jesus
said to him, “Rise
and go ;
your faith has made
you well!”
Then he
said to him, "Get
up,
and go your way.
Your
faith has healed
you ."
When
asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus
replied
, “
The kingdom of God will
not
come with observable
signs.
Being
asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, he
answered
them
, "
The Kingdom of God doesn't
come with observation;
Nor
will people
say, ‘
Look, here it
is,’
or ‘
There it
is.’
For you
see
, the kingdom of God is in
your
midst
. ”
neither
will they
say, '
Look, here !'
or ,
'Look,
there !'
for behold
, the Kingdom of God is within
you
. "
Then
He said to the disciples, “
The time
is
coming
when you will long
to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but
you will not see it.
He said to the disciples, "
The days
will
come,
when you will desire
to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and
you will not see it.
People
will tell you, ‘
Look, there
He
is
! ’
or ‘
Look, here
He
is
! ’
Do
not
go out
or
chase
after them .
They
will tell you, '
Look, here
! '
or '
Look, there
! '
Don't
go away,
nor
follow
after them ,
For just
as the lightning flashes and
lights
up
the sky
from
one end
to the other ,
so will be
the Son of Man in His day.
for as the lightning ,
when
it
flashes out
of
the one part
under
the
sky,
shines
to the other part
under
the
sky;
so will the Son of Man be
in his day.
But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
But first ,
he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Just
as it was
in the days of Noah, so also
will it be in the days of the Son of Man :
As it happened
in the days of Noah, even
so will it be also
in the days of the Son of Man .
People
were
eating
and
drinking
, marrying
and
being
given in marriage, up
to
the day Noah entered the ark .
Then
the flood came and destroyed them all.
They
ate
, they
drank,
they
married,
they
were
given in marriage, until
the day that
Noah entered into
the ark ,
and
the flood came ,
and destroyed them all.
It was
the
same
in the days of Lot: People
were
eating
and
drinking
, buying
and
selling
, planting
and
building.
Likewise,
even
as
it happened
in the days of Lot: they
ate
, they
drank
, they
bought,
they
sold,
they
planted,
they
built;
But on
the day Lot left
Sodom, fire and sulfur rained
down
from heaven
and destroyed them all.
but in
the day that
Lot went
out
from
Sodom, it
rained
fire and sulfur from the
sky,
and destroyed them all.
It will be just
like
that
on
the day the Son of Man is revealed.
It will be the same
way
in
the
day that
the Son of Man is revealed.
On
that day, let
no
one
on the housetop come
down to retrieve
his
possessions
. Likewise,
let no
one
in the field return
for
anything
he
has
left
behind
.
In
that day, he
who
will
be
on the housetop ,
and
his
goods
in
the
house,
let
him
not
go
down to take
them
away
. Let him
who
is
in the field likewise
not
turn
back
.
Remember Lot’s
wife!
Remember Lot's
wife!
Whoever tries
to save his life will
lose
it, but whoever loses his life will
preserve
it.
Whoever seeks
to save his life loses
it, but whoever loses his life preserves
it.
I tell you, on
that night two
people
will be in one bed :
One will be taken and the other left.
I tell you, in
that night there
will be two
people
in one bed .
The
one will be taken ,
and the other will
be
left.
Two
women
will be grinding grain together :
One will be taken and the other left. ”
There
will be two
grinding grain together .
One will be taken ,
and the other will
be
left. "
“
Where, Lord? ”
they
asked.
Jesus
answered
, “Wherever
there
is a
carcass
, there the vultures will
gather
. ”
They
answering,
asked
him,
"
Where, Lord? "
He
said
to
them
, "Where
the
body
is, there will
the vultures also
be
gathered
together
. "
