us :
Look ,
and see our reproach.

LORD
, what has happened
to
us .
Look and see our disgrace!
Our inheritance is
turned to strangers, Our houses to aliens
.
Our inheritance has
been

to strangers, our houses to foreigners
.
We are
orphans
and
fatherless; Our mothers are as
widows.
We have
become
fatherless orphans
; our mothers are widows.
We have
drunken
our
water for
money
; Our wood is
sold
to
us
.
We must
buy
the
water we
drink
; our wood comes
at
a
price
.
Our
pursuers
are on
our
necks:
We are weary ,
and have
no rest.
We
are closely
pursued;
we are weary and find
no rest.
We have
given
the
hand
to
the
Egyptians,
To the
Assyrians,
to be
satisfied
with
bread.
We submitted
to Egypt
and
Assyria
to get
enough
bread.
Our fathers sinned ,
and are no more ;
We have
borne
their iniquities
.

their punishment

Servants
rule over us :
There is none
to deliver us out
of
their hand
.
Slaves
rule over us ;
there is no
one
to deliver us from
their hands
.
We get our bread at the peril
of our lives ,
Because of the sword of
the wilderness.

Our skin is black
like
an oven ,

the
burning
heat
of
famine

fever

our
hunger

They
ravished
the
women in Zion, The
virgins in the cities of Judah.

Princes were
hanged
up by their hand:
The
faces
of
elders were
not
honored
.
Princes have
been
hung
up by their hands;
elders receive
no
respect
.
The
young men bare
the
mill
; The
children
stumbled
under the
wood.
Young men toil
at
millstones
; boys
stagger
under loads
of
wood.
The elders have ceased
from
the gate ,
The young men from
their music.
The elders have left
the city
gate ;
the young men have
stopped
their music.
The
joy of
our heart
is
ceased
; Our dance
is
turned into
mourning.
Joy has
left
our hearts
; our dancing
has
turned to
mourning.
The crown is
fallen from our head :
Woe to us !
for we have sinned .
The crown has

For
this our heart
is
faint; For
these things
our eyes are
dim ;
Because
of
this ,
our hearts
are
faint; because

these ,
our eyes grow
dim —
For
the
mountain
of Zion, which is
desolate :
The
foxes walk
on
it

Zion, which lies
desolate ,
patrolled
by
foxes.
You, Yahweh
, abide
forever; Your throne is
from generation to generation.
You, O
LORD
, reign
forever; Your throne endures
from generation to generation.
Why do
you forget
us forever ,
[And]
forsake
us so long time
?
Why have
You forgotten
us forever ?
Why
have
You
forsaken
us for
so long?
Turn
you
us to you
, Yahweh
, and
we shall
be
turned
; Renew our days as of old .
Restore
us to Yourself
, O
LORD
, so
we may
return
; renew our days as of old ,
But
you have utterly rejected us ;
You
are
very
angry against
us.
unless
You have utterly rejected us and
remain
angry with
us beyond
measure
.
