Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ ,
and brother of James, to them
that
are called, beloved
in
God the Father, and kept for
Jesus Christ:
Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a
brother of James, To those
who
are called, loved
by
God the Father, and kept in
Jesus Christ:
Mercy unto
you
and
peace and love be multiplied.
Mercy ,
peace ,
and love be multiplied to
you
.
Beloved, while
I was
giving
all
diligence
to write unto
you of
our
common
salvation, I was
constrained
to write unto
you
exhorting
you to contend earnestly for the faith which
was
once for all delivered
unto
the saints.
Beloved, although
I made
every
effort
to write to
you about
the
salvation we
share
, I felt
it
necessary
to write and
urge
you to contend earnestly for the faith entrusted
once for all to
the saints.
For there
are
certain men crept in privily,
`even'
they
who were of
old
written
of
beforehand
unto
this
condemnation ,
ungodly
men,
turning
the grace of our God into lasciviousness
, and denying
our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
For certain men have
crept in among
you
unnoticed—ungodly
ones
who were designated
long
ago
for
condemnation .
They
turn
the grace of our God into a
license
for
immorality
, and they
deny
our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Now
I desire
to put
you in
remembrance,
though
ye
know
all
things
once
for
all,
that the
Lord,
having
saved
a
people out of the land of Egypt, afterward
destroyed them
that
believed
not.
Although
you
are
fully
aware
of
this,
I want
to remind
you that after
Jesus
had
delivered
His
people out of the land of Egypt, He
destroyed those
who
did
not believe
.
And angels that
kept
not their own principality,
but left
their proper habitation,
he hath
kept in everlasting
bonds
under darkness unto
the
judgment of
the
great day.
And the
angels who
did
not stay
within
their own domain
but abandoned
their proper dwelling—these
He has
kept in eternal
chains
under darkness ,
bound
for
judgment on
that
great day.
Even
as
Sodom and Gomorrah ,
and the cities about
them, having
in like
manner
with
these
given
themselves
over
to
fornication
and gone
after
strange flesh, are set
forth
as an example ,
suffering
the punishment of eternal fire.
In
like
manner,
Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around
them, who
indulged
in sexual
immorality
and pursued
strange flesh, are on
display
as an example of
those
who
sustain
the punishment of eternal fire.
Yet in like
manner
these also
in
their
dreamings
defile the
flesh
, and
set
at
nought
dominion
, and rail
at
dignities
.
Yet in the
same
way
these dreamers
defile their
bodies
, reject
authority
, and slander
glorious
beings
.
But Michael
the archangel, when contending
with the devil he
disputed
about
the body of Moses, durst
not bring against him a
railing
judgment
, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
But even
the archangel Michael
, when he
disputed
with the devil over
the body of Moses, did
not presume
to
bring a
slanderous
charge
against him, but said, “
The Lord rebuke you!”
But
these rail
at
whatsoever
things
they
know
not:
and
what they understand naturally
, like the
creatures
without
reason
, in
these
things
are
they destroyed.
These men,
however,
slander
what they do
not
understand, and
like irrational
animals
, they will
be
destroyed by
the
things
they
do
instinctively
.
Woe unto
them! For
they went
in
the way
of Cain ,
and
ran
riotously
in
the error of Balaam for
hire,
and
perished in the
gainsaying
of
Korah
.
Woe to
them! They have
traveled
the path
of Cain ;
they
have
rushed
headlong
into
the error of Balaam ;
they
have
perished in Korah’s
rebellion
.
These are
they
who
are hidden rocks
in your love -
feasts when
they
feast
with you ,
shepherds
that
without
fear
feed
themselves ;
clouds without water, carried along by winds
; autumn leaves
without
fruit
, twice dead ,
plucked
up
by
the
roots;
These men
are hidden reefs
in your love feasts ,
shamelessly
feasting
with you but
shepherding
only
themselves .
They
are
clouds without water, carried along by the
wind
; fruitless
trees
in
autumn, twice dead after
being
uprooted.
Wild waves of the sea, foaming out
their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the
blackness
of
darkness hath
been reserved forever.
They
are
wild waves of the sea, foaming up
their own shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest
darkness has
been reserved forever.
And
to
these
also
Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied ,
saying,
Behold, the Lord came
with ten
thousands
of his holy ones ,
Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also
prophesied about
them:
“
Behold, the Lord is
coming
with myriads
of His holy ones
to execute judgment upon
all
, and to convict all the ungodly of all
their
works
of
ungodliness
which
they
have
ungodly wrought,
and
of all
the
hard
things
which
ungodly
sinners
have
spoken against him.
to execute judgment on
everyone
, and to convict all the ungodly of every
ungodly act
of wickedness
and
every
harsh
word
spoken against Him by
ungodly
sinners
. ”
These are murmurers,
complainers
, walking
after their lusts (and
their mouth
speaketh
great
swelling
`words'),
showing
respect
of
persons
for the
sake
of
advantage.
These men
are discontented
grumblers
, following
after their own
lusts ;
their mouths
spew
arrogance;
they
flatter
others
for their
own
advantage.
But ye
, beloved, remember ye
the
words
which
have
been
spoken
before
by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ ;
But you
, beloved, remember what
was
foretold
by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ
That
they said to you, In the last time
there shall
be mockers,
walking
after their own ungodly lusts
.
when
they said to you, “
In the last times
there will
be scoffers
who
will
follow
after their own ungodly desires
. ”
These are they
who make
separations,
sensual
, having
not
the Spirit.
These are the
ones
who cause
divisions
, who
are
worldly
and
devoid
of
the Spirit.
But ye
, beloved, building up
yourselves on
your most holy faith ,
praying in the Holy Spirit,
But you
, beloved, by
building yourselves up
in
your most holy faith and
praying in the Holy Spirit,
keep yourselves in the love of God ,
looking
for
the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto
eternal life.
keep yourselves in the love of God as
you
await
the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to
bring
you
eternal life.
And on
some
have mercy ,
who are
in
doubt;
And indeed,
have mercy on
those
who doubt;
and
some
save ,
snatching them out
of
the fire; and on
some
have
mercy with fear ;
hating even the garment
spotted
by the flesh.
save others
by
snatching them from
the fire; and to
still
others
show
mercy tempered
with fear ,
hating even the clothing
stained
by the flesh.
Now unto
him that
is able to guard
you from stumbling ,
and to set
you before
the
presence
of
his
glory
without
blemish
in exceeding
joy
,
Now to
Him who
is able to keep
you from stumbling and to present
you unblemished
in His
glorious
presence
, with
great
joy—
to the only God our Saviour,
through
Jesus
Christ
our
Lord,
`
be '
glory, majesty, dominion and
power
, before all time, and now, and for evermore
. Amen.
to the only God our Savior
be glory, majesty, dominion, and
authority
through
Jesus
Christ
our
Lord
before all time, and now, and for all
eternity
. Amen.
