YLT
Young's Literal Translation
On
the third day a wedding
took
place
at
Cana
in Galilee .
Jesus’
mother was there,
And
the third day a marriage
happened
in Cana
of
Galilee ,
and
the
mother of
Jesus
was there,
and Jesus and His disciples had
also
been
invited
to the wedding.
and also
Jesus was
called,
and his disciples ,
to the marriage;
When
the
wine ran
out
, Jesus’
mother said
to
Him, “
They have no
more
wine.”
and
wine having
failed
, the
mother of
Jesus
saith
unto
him, `Wine
they have not;'
“Woman
, why
does
this
concern
us
? ”
Jesus
replied.
“My
hour
has
not yet come. ”
Jesus
saith
to
her
, `What
--
to
me
and
to
thee,
woman
? not yet is
mine
hour
come. '
His mother said
to the servants
, “Do
whatever He tells
you. ”
His mother saith
to the ministrants
, `
Whatever he may
say
to
you --
do
. '
Now
six stone
water jars
had
been
set
there
for
the Jewish
rites
of purification.
Each could
hold
from
twenty
to
thirty
gallons
.
And
there
were
there
six water -jugs
of
stone,
placed
according
to
the purifying
of the
Jews,
holding
each two
or
three
measures
.
Jesus told
the
servants
, “
Fill the jars
with water .”
So
they filled them to
the brim .
Jesus saith
to
them
, `
Fill the water-jugs
with water ;'
and
they filled them --
unto
the brim ;
“Now
draw some
out, ”
He
said
, “
and take
it
to the master
of the banquet.”
They did
so,
and
he
saith
to
them,
`
Draw out, now
, and bear
to the director
of the apartment;'
and
they bare.
and the master
of the banquet
tasted the water that
had
been
turned
into
wine .
He
did
not know
where
it was
from
, but the servants
who had
drawn the water knew.
Then
he
called
the bridegroom aside
And as
the director
of the apartment
tasted the water become
wine ,
and
knew
not whence
it is
, (
but the ministrants
knew,
who have
drawn the water ,)
the director
of
the
feast
doth
call
the
bridegroom ,
and said
, “Everyone
serves
the
fine
wine
first, and
then
the cheap
wine after
the
guests
are
drunk.
But
you
have saved
the fine
wine until
now !”
and saith
to
him
, `Every
man,
at
first, the good
wine doth
set
forth;
and
when
they
may
have drunk
freely,
then
the inferior;
thou
didst
keep
the
good
wine till
now .'
Jesus
performed
this ,
the
first
of His
signs ,
at
Cana
in Galilee .
He
thus
revealed
His glory, and His disciples believed in Him .
This beginning
of the
signs did
Jesus
in Cana
of
Galilee ,
and
manifested
his glory, and his disciples believed in him ;
After this ,
He went down to Capernaum with
His mother and brothers
and His disciples ,
and they
stayed
there a
few
days.
after this he went down to Capernaum ,
he,
and
his mother ,
and his
brethren,
and his disciples ;
and there they
remained
not
many
days.
When
the Jewish
Passover was near
, Jesus went up to Jerusalem .
And
the passover of
the
Jews
was nigh
, and
Jesus went up to Jerusalem ,
In the temple courts
He
found
men
selling cattle
, sheep, and doves, and money changers seated
at
their
tables.
and
he
found
in the temple those
selling oxen
, and
sheep, and doves, and the
money -
changers sitting,
So
He
made a whip out
of cords and
drove
all from
the temple courts
, both
sheep and cattle.
He
poured
out
the coins
of the money changers and overturned
their
tables .
and
having
made a whip of small
cords ,
he
put
all forth
out
of
the temple, also
the
sheep ,
and the oxen;
and
of the money -
changers he
poured
out
the
coins,
and the
tables he
overthrew,
To those selling doves He said, “Get
these out
of here!
How
dare
you
turn
My Father’s
house
into
a marketplace!”
and
to those selling the
doves he said, `Take
these things
hence;
make
not
the
house
of my Father
a house
of
merchandise.'
His disciples remembered that it is written :
“
Zeal for
Your
house will
consume
Me .”
And
his disciples remembered that it is written ,
`The
zeal of
Thy
house did
eat
me up;'
On
account
of
this,
the Jews demanded
, “
What sign can
You
show
us
to
prove
Your
authority
to do
these things? ”
the Jews then
answered
and
said
to
him
, `
What sign dost
thou
shew
to us
--
that
thou
dost
these things? '
Jesus answered, “
Destroy this temple
, and in three days I will raise it up again
. ”
Jesus answered and
said
to
them
, `
Destroy this sanctuary
, and in three days I will raise it up. '
“This
temple
took
forty -
six years to
build,”
the
Jews
replied
, “
and You
are
going
to
raise
it
up
in three days? ”
The
Jews,
therefore,
said,
`
Forty and
six years was
this
sanctuary
building
, and wilt
thou
in three days raise
it
up
? '
But Jesus
was
speaking
about
the temple
of His body .
but he
spake
concerning
the sanctuary
of his body ;
After
He was raised from
the dead, His disciples remembered that He had
said this .
Then
they believed the Scripture
and the word that Jesus had
spoken
.
when,
then,
he was raised out
of
the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this to
them,
and
they believed the Writing,
and the word that Jesus said
.
While
He was in Jerusalem at
the Passover Feast, many people
saw
the
signs
He
was
doing
and
believed in His name .
And
as
he was in Jerusalem ,
in
the passover ,
in
the
feast, many believed in his name ,
beholding
his
signs
that
he
was
doing;
But
Jesus did
not entrust
Himself to them, for
He
knew
them
all .
and
Jesus himself
was
not trusting
himself to them, because
of
his
knowing
all `men',
He did
not
need any testimony
about
man, for He knew
what was in a
man.
and
because
he had
no
need that
any should
testify
concerning
man, for he himself
was
knowing
what was in man.
