Later,
by
the
Sea
of
Tiberias,
Jesus again
revealed
Himself to the disciples .
He made
Himself known
in
this way:
After
these
things
Jesus manifested
himself again
to the disciples at
the
sea
of
Tiberias;
and
he manifested
`
himself '
on
this wise.
Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael from
Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were
together
.
There
was
together
Simon Peter, and
Thomas called Didymus, and
Nathanael of
Cana in Galilee, and
the `
sons '
of Zebedee, and two other of
his
disciples.
Simon Peter told
them, “
I am
going
fishing. ”
“
We will
go
with you,”
they
said
. So
they went out
and got
into the boat ,
but
caught
nothing
that night.
Simon Peter saith
unto
them, I go
a
fishing. They
say
unto
him,
We also
come
with thee
. They went forth,
and entered
into the boat ;
and
that night they
took
nothing
.
Early
in
the
morning
, Jesus stood on the shore,
but
the disciples did
not recognize
that it was Jesus.
But
when
day
was
now
breaking
, Jesus stood on the beach:
yet
the disciples knew
not that it was Jesus.
So
He
called
out
to
them, “
Children, do
you
have any
fish
? ”
“No,”
they answered.
Jesus
therefore
saith
unto
them, Children, have ye
aught
to
eat
? They answered him,
No
.
He told
them, “
Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you
will
find some
. ”
So
they cast it
there
, and they were unable
to haul
it in
because
of
the great
number
of fish
.
And
he said
unto
them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye
shall
find. They cast therefore
, and now
they were not
able
to draw
it for
the multitude
of fishes
.
Then
the
disciple whom Jesus loved said
to
Peter, “
It is the Lord !”
As
soon
as
Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put
on
his outer
garment
(for he had
removed
it
) and jumped
into the sea.
That
disciple therefore
whom Jesus loved saith
unto
Peter, It is the Lord .
So
when
Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt
his coat
about
him
(for he was
naked
) ,
and cast
himself
into the sea.
The other disciples came ashore
in the boat .
They
dragged
in
the
net
full
of
fish,
for they were not far from land, only
about a
hundred yards
.
But
the other disciples came in the little
boat (
for they were not far from the
land, but
about two
hundred cubits
off),
dragging
the
net
`full'
of
fishes
.
When they landed
, they saw
a charcoal
fire there with
fish on
it
, and some
bread.
So
when they got
out
upon
the
land
, they see
a fire of
coals
there ,
and
fish laid
thereon
, and bread.
Jesus told
them, “
Bring some
of the fish you
have just
caught
. ”
Jesus saith
unto
them, Bring of the fish which
ye
have now
taken
.
So
Simon Peter went aboard
and dragged
the net ashore.
It
was
full of large
fish,

, but
even
with
so many, the net was not torn
.
Simon Peter therefore
went up,
and drew
the net to
land,
full of great
fishes
, a
hundred
and
fifty
and
three:
and
for
all
there
were
so many, the net was not rent
.
“Come,
have
breakfast,”
Jesus said
to
them. None of the disciples dared
to
ask
Him, “
Who are
You
? ”
They
knew
it was the Lord.
Jesus saith
unto
them ,
Come
`and'
break
your
fast
. And
none of the disciples durst
inquire
of
him, Who art
thou
? knowing
that
it was the Lord.
Jesus came
and took
the bread and gave
it
to
them, and He
did
the same
with
the
fish.
Jesus cometh,
and taketh
the bread ,
and giveth
them, and the fish likewise
.
This was
now the third time that Jesus appeared
to the disciples after He was raised
from the dead.
This is
now the third time that Jesus was
manifested
to the disciples ,
after that
he was risen
from the dead.
When they had finished
eating
, Jesus asked
Simon Peter, “
Simon son of John, do
you
love
Me more than these? ”
“Yes,
Lord,”
he answered
, “You
know
I love You
. ”
Jesus
replied
, “
Feed My lambs. ”
So
when they had broken
their
fast
, Jesus saith
to
Simon Peter, Simon ,
`
son '
of John, lovest
thou
me more than these? He saith
unto
him
, Yea,
Lord;
thou
knowest
that
I love thee
. He
saith
unto
him
, Feed my lambs.
Jesus
asked
a second time, “
Simon son of John, do
you
love
Me? ”
“Yes,
Lord,”
he answered
, “You
know
I love You
. ”
Jesus
told
him, “Shepherd
My sheep. ”
He
saith
to
him
again
a second time, Simon ,
`
son '
of John, lovest
thou
me? He saith
unto
him
, Yea,
Lord;
thou
knowest
that
I love thee
. He
saith
unto
him, Tend
my sheep.
Jesus
asked
a
third time, “
Simon son of John, do
you
love
Me? ”
Peter was deeply
hurt
that
Jesus
had
asked
him a
third time, “Do
you
love
Me? ”
“
Lord, You
know
all things ,”
he
replied.
“You
know
I love You
. ”
Jesus said
to
him, “
Feed My sheep.
He
saith
unto
him
the
third time, Simon ,
`
son '
of John, lovest
thou
me? Peter was grieved
because
he
said
unto
him the
third time, Lovest
thou
me? And
he
said
unto
him,
Lord, thou
knowest
all things ;
thou
knowest
that
I love thee
. Jesus saith
unto
him, Feed my sheep.
Truly
, truly
, I tell
you
, when you
were
young, you
dressed
yourself
and walked
where
you
wanted;
but when you
are
old, you
will
stretch out
your
hands, and someone
else
will
dress
you
and lead
you
where
you
do
not want
to
go
. ”
Verily
, verily
, I say
unto
thee
, When thou
wast
young, thou
girdedst
thyself,
and walkedst
whither
thou
wouldest:
but when thou
shalt
be
old, thou
shalt
stretch forth
thy
hands, and another
shall
gird
thee,
and carry
thee
whither
thou
wouldest
not.
Jesus
said
this to
indicate
the
kind
of death by
which
Peter
would
glorify God. And after
He had said
this, He told
him, “
Follow Me. ”
Now
this he
spake,
signifying
by
what
manner
of death he
should
glorify God. And when
he had spoken
this, he saith
unto
him, Follow me.
Peter turned
and
saw
the disciple whom Jesus loved following them.
He
was
the
one
who had
leaned back against
Jesus
at the supper to
ask
, “
Lord, who is going
to
betray
You
? ”
Peter ,
turning
about,
seeth
the disciple whom Jesus loved following ;
who also
leaned back on
his
breast
at the supper, and
said,
Lord, who is he
that
betrayeth
thee
?
When
Peter saw
him ,
he
asked
, “
Lord, what about
him
? ”
Peter therefore
seeing
him saith
to
Jesus
, Lord, and
what shall
this
man
do
?
Jesus answered
, “
If I want
him
to
remain
until
I return
, what is that to you
? You
follow Me !”
Jesus saith
unto
him
, If I will
that
he
tarry
till
I come
, what `
is that '
to thee
? Follow thou
me .
Because
of
this ,
the
rumor
spread
among the brothers
that this
disciple would
not die .
However,
Jesus did
not say
that he would
not die ,
but only
, “
If I want
him
to
remain
until
I return
, what is that to you
? ”
This saying
therefore
went
forth
among the brethren,
that that
disciple should
not die :
yet
Jesus said
not unto
him,
that he should
not die ;
but, If I will
that
he
tarry
till
I come
, what `
is that '
to thee
?
This is the disciple who
testifies
to
these things and who
has
written
them
down.
And we know that his testimony
is true.
This is the disciple that
beareth
witness
of
these things ,
and wrote
these
things:
and we know that his witness
is true.
There are many more
things that
Jesus did .
If all
of
them
were
written down
, I suppose that not
even the world itself would have
space
for
the books that would
be written.
And
there are also
many other
things which
Jesus did ,
the
which
if they
should
be
written every
one
, I suppose that even the world itself would not
contain
the books that should
be written.
