Berean Standard Bible
Come now, ye
rich, weep and howl
for
your
miseries
that
are
coming
upon you.
Come now, you
who
are
rich, weep and wail
over
the
misery
to
come
upon you.
Your riches are
corrupted,
and your
garments
are
moth-
eaten.
Your riches have
rotted
and moths
have
eaten your
clothes
.
Your gold and your
silver are rusted;
and
their rust
shall
be
for
a
testimony
against you ,
and shall
eat
your flesh as
fire. Ye
have laid
up
your
treasure in the last days.
Your gold and silver are corroded.
Their corrosion
will
testify
against you and consume
your flesh like
fire. You
have hoarded
treasure in the last days.
Behold
, the hire
of
the laborers
who mowed your fields ,
which
is
of
you
kept
back
by
fraud,
crieth
out :
and
the cries of them
that
reaped
have entered
into
the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth
.
Look
, the wages
you
withheld
from
the workmen
who mowed your fields are
crying
out against
you.
The cries of the
harvesters
have reached
the ears of the Lord of Hosts
.
Ye
have lived delicately
on the
earth ,
and taken
your
pleasure;
ye
have nourished
your hearts in a
day of slaughter.
You
have lived on earth in
luxury
and self-indulgence.
You
have fattened
your hearts in the
day of slaughter.
Ye
have condemned ,
ye
have
killed
the righteous `one';
he
doth
not resist you.
You
have condemned and
murdered
the righteous ,
who
did
not resist you.
Be patient therefore
, brethren
, until the coming of
the
Lord
. Behold,
the husbandman
waiteth
for
the precious fruit of the earth,
being
patient over
it,
until
it
receive
the early
and latter
rain
.
Be patient, then
, brothers,
until the Lord’s
coming. See
how
the farmer
awaits
the precious fruit of the soil—how
patient he
is
for
the fall
and spring
rains
.
Be ye
also
patient ;
establish
your hearts :
for
the coming of
the
Lord
is at
hand
.
You,
too,
be patient and
strengthen
your hearts ,
because
the Lord’s
coming is near
.
Murmur
not ,
brethren,
one against
another, that ye
be
not judged :
behold
, the judge standeth
before
the doors.
Do
not complain
about
one another, brothers,
so
that you
will
not be
judged .
Look
, the Judge is
standing
at
the door!
Take,
brethren
, for
an example of suffering
and
of
patience, the prophets who spake
in the name of the Lord.
Brothers
, as
an example of patience in
affliction
, take
the prophets who spoke
in the name of the Lord.
Behold,
we
call
them
blessed that
endured:
ye
have heard of the
patience
of
Job,
and have seen the end
of
the Lord ,
how
that
the Lord is full of pity,
and merciful
.
See
how
blessed we
consider
those
who
have persevered.
You
have
heard of Job’s
perseverance
and have seen the outcome
from
the Lord .
The Lord is full of compassion
and mercy
.
But
above all things
, my brethren
, swear
not, neither
by the
heaven ,
nor
by
the
earth ,
nor
by any other oath :
but
let your yea
be yea
, and your nay
, nay;
that ye
fall
not under judgment.
Above all, my brothers
, do
not swear
, not
by heaven or
earth or
by any other oath .
Simply
let your “Yes”
be yes
, and your “No
, ”
no,
so
that you
will
not fall
under judgment.
Is any among
you suffering? Let
him
pray. Is any
cheerful? Let
him
sing praise
.
Is any one
of
you suffering? He
should
pray. Is anyone
cheerful? He
should
sing praises
.
Is any among
you sick? Let
him
call for
the elders of the church ;
and
let
them
pray over him ,
anointing
him with oil in the name of the Lord :
Is any one
of
you sick? He
should
call the elders of the church to
pray over him and
anoint
him with oil in the name of the Lord .
and the prayer of
faith shall
save
him
that
is sick ,
and
the Lord shall
raise him up ;
and
if he have
committed
sins
, it
shall
be forgiven him
.
And the prayer offered
in
faith will
restore
the
one
who
is sick .
The Lord will
raise him up .
If he has
sinned
, he
will
be forgiven.
Confess
therefore your sins one
to another,
and pray one
for another,
that ye
may be healed. The supplication
of a righteous man availeth
much
in
its
working
.
Therefore confess
your sins to each
other
and pray for each
other
so
that you
may be healed. The prayer
of a righteous man has
great
power
to
prevail
.
Elijah was a man of
like passions
with
us ,
and
he prayed fervently
that it might
not rain ;
and it rained
not on the earth
for three years
and six
months
.
Elijah was a man just
like us .
He prayed earnestly
that it would
not rain ,
and it did
not rain
on the land
for three and a
half
years
.
And
he prayed again;
and the heaven
gave rain, and the earth brought
forth
her
fruit
.
Again
he prayed ,
and the heavens
gave rain, and the earth yielded
its
crops
.
My brethren
, if any
among
you err
from the truth ,
and one
convert
him ;
My brothers
, if one
of
you should
wander
from the truth and someone
should
bring
him back,
let
him
know,
that
he
who
converteth
a sinner from the error of his way shall
save a
soul from death ,
and shall
cover a multitude of sins.
consider
this:
Whoever
turns
a sinner from the error of his way will
save his
soul from death and cover over
a multitude of sins.
