“
Cry aloud, do
not
hold
back!
Raise
your voice like a ram’s
horn.
Declare to My people their transgression
and to the house of Jacob their sins.
Cry aloud, don't
spare,
lift
up
your voice like a trumpet,
and
declare to my people their disobedience,
and to the house of Jacob their sins.
For
day
after
day
they seek Me and delight to know My ways ,
like
a nation that does
what
is
right
and does
not
forsake the justice
of their God .
They ask Me for
righteous judgments; they delight in
the
nearness
of
God. ”
Yet
they seek me daily,
and delight to know my ways :
as
a nation that did
righteousness,
and didn't
forsake the ordinance
of their God ,
they ask of
me righteous judgments; they delight to
draw
near
to
God.
“
Why have we fasted, and You have
not
seen
? Why have we humbled
ourselves
, and You have
not
noticed
? ”
“
Behold, on
the day of your fast ,
you do
as
you
please
, and you
oppress
all your workers
.
Why have we fasted, [say
they],
and you don't
see
? [
why ]
have we afflicted
our
soul
, and you take
no
knowledge
? Behold, in
the day of your fast you find
[your
own]
pleasure
, and exact
all your labors
.
You fast with
contention and strife
to strike viciously
with your
fist .
You cannot
fast as you
do
today
and
have
your voice be heard on high.
Behold,
you fast for
strife
and
contention ,
and to strike with the
fist of
wickedness:
you don't
fast this
day
so
as to
make
your voice to
be heard on high.
Is this
the fast I have chosen :
a
day for a man to deny
himself,
to bow his head like
a reed
, and to spread out
sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and a
day
acceptable to the
LORD
?
Is such
the fast that
I have chosen ?
the
day for a man to afflict
his
soul?
Is
it
to bow down
his head as
a rush
, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under
him
? will you call this a fast ,
and an
acceptable day
to Yahweh
?
Isn’t
this the fast that I have chosen: to break
the chains
of wickedness, to untie
the cords
of the yoke, to set
the oppressed free and tear
off
every yoke?
Isn't
this the fast that I have chosen: to loose
the bonds
of wickedness, to undo
the bands
of the yoke, and
to let
the oppressed go
free ,
and that
you
break
every yoke?
Isn’t
it to share
your bread with
the hungry, to
bring the poor and
homeless
into
your
home,
to clothe
the
naked
when you see him
, and not to
turn
away
from your own flesh and
blood
?
Isn't
it to deal
your bread to
the hungry, and
that
you
bring the poor who
are
cast
out
to your
house?
when you see the
naked
, that
you
cover
him;
and that
you
not hide
yourself
from your own flesh?
Then your light will
break forth like
the dawn
, and your healing will
come
quickly.
Your righteousness will
go before you ,
and
the glory of the
LORD
will
be
your rear
guard
.
Then shall
your light break forth as
the morning
, and your healing shall
spring
forth
speedily;
and
your righteousness shall
go before you ;
the glory of Yahweh
shall
by
your rearward
.
Then you will
call, and the
LORD
will answer; you will
cry out
, and He will say, ‘
Here I am. ’
If you remove
the
yoke
from your
midst, the pointing
of the finger and
malicious
talk
,
Then shall
you call, and Yahweh
will answer; you shall
cry, and he will say, Here I am. If you take
away
from the
midst of
you
the
yoke
, the putting
forth
of the finger, and
speaking
wickedly;
and if you give
yourself
to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul ,
then your light will
go
forth
in the
darkness, and your night
will
be like
noonday .
and if you draw
out
your
soul
to the hungry ,
and satisfy the afflicted soul :
then shall
your light rise
in darkness, and your obscurity
be as
the
noonday ;
The
LORD
will always
guide you ;
He
will
satisfy you
in a
sun-scorched
land
and strengthen
your frame.
You will
be like a well-
watered garden, like a spring whose waters never
fail.
and
Yahweh
will guide you continually,
and
satisfy your
soul
in dry
places,
and make
strong
your bones;
and
you shall
be like a watered garden, and
like a spring of
water,
whose waters don't
fail.
Your
people
will
rebuild
the ancient
ruins
; you will
restore
the age-old
foundations; you will
be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer
of
the Streets
of Dwelling
.
Those
who
shall
be
of
you
shall
build
the old
waste
places
; you shall
raise
up
the foundations of
many
generations
; and
you shall
be called The
repairer of the breach, The restorer
of paths
to
dwell
in
.
If you turn your foot from breaking
the Sabbath, from doing as
you
please
on My holy day ,
if
you
call the Sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s
holy day
honorable ,
if
you
honor it by
not going
your own way
or
seeking
your own pleasure or
speaking idle
words ,
If you turn away
your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your
pleasure
on my holy day ;
and
call the Sabbath a delight, [
and ]
the holy of
Yahweh
honorable ;
and
shall
honor it ,
not doing
your own ways,
nor
finding
your own pleasure ,
nor
speaking [your
own]
words :
then you will
delight yourself in the
LORD,
and I will make you ride on the heights
of the land
and feed you with the heritage of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the
LORD
has spoken.
then shall
you delight yourself in Yahweh;
and I will make you to
ride on the high
places
of the earth;
and I
will
feed you with the heritage of Jacob
your father :
for the mouth of Yahweh
has spoken it
.
