, barren, you
who didn't
bear
; break forth into
singing,
and cry aloud, you who did
not
travail
with
child:
for
more are the children of the desolate than the
children
of the
married
wife
, says Yahweh
.
“Shout
for
joy
, O
barren woman
, who bears
no
children
; break forth in
song
and cry aloud, you who have
never
travailed;
because
more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her
who
has
a
husband
, ”
says the
LORD
.
Enlarge the place
of your tent, and
let
them
stretch forth
the curtains of your habitations;
don't
spare:
lengthen your cords,
and strengthen
your stakes.
“
Enlarge the site
of your tent, stretch out
the curtains of your dwellings,
do
not
hold
back.
Lengthen your ropes
and drive
your stakes in
deep
.
For you shall
spread aboard
on
the right hand
and on
the
left; and
your seed
shall
possess
the nations ,
and make
the desolate cities to
be
inhabited
.
For you will
spread out
to
the right and left; your descendants
will
dispossess
the nations and inhabit
the desolate cities.
Don't
be afraid ;
for you shall
not be ashamed:
neither
be
confounded
; for you shall
not be disappointed:
for you shall
forget the shame of your youth ;
and the reproach of your widowhood shall
you
remember
no
more
.
Do
not
be afraid ,
for you will
not be put
to
shame
; do
not
be
intimidated,
for you will
not be humiliated.
For you will
forget the shame of your youth and will
remember
no
more
the reproach of your widowhood.
For your Maker
is your husband;
Yahweh
of Hosts is his name :
and
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole
earth shall
he
be
called
.
For your husband
is your Maker—
the
LORD
of Hosts is His name —
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He
is
called
the God of all
the earth.
For Yahweh
has called you as
a wife forsaken
and grieved
in spirit, even
a
wife of youth, when
she
is
cast
off,
says your God.
For the
LORD
has called you back,
like
a wife deserted
and wounded
in spirit, like
the
rejected
wife of one’s
youth, ”
says your God.
For a small
moment have
I forsaken
you ;
but with great mercies
will
I gather
you.
“
For a brief
moment I forsook
you ,
but with great compassion
I will
bring
you back
.
In overflowing
wrath
I hid my face from you for a moment ;
but with everlasting loving
kindness will
I have mercy
on you, says Yahweh
your Redeemer.
In a
surge
of
anger
I hid My face from you for a moment ,
but with everlasting kindness I will
have compassion
on you, ”
says the
LORD
your Redeemer.
For this is [as]
the waters
of Noah to
me;
for
as
I have
sworn
that the waters of Noah shall
no
more
go
over
the earth ,
so have
I sworn that I will not be angry with you ,
nor
rebuke you.
“
For to
Me
this is like
the days
of Noah ,
when
I swore
that the waters of Noah would
never
again
cover
the earth .
So I have
sworn that I will not be angry with you or
rebuke you.
For
the mountains may depart,
and the hills be removed;
but
my loving kindness
shall
not depart from you, neither
shall
my covenant of peace be removed
, says Yahweh
who has mercy
on you.
Though
the mountains may be
removed
and the hills may
be shaken,
My loving devotion
will
not depart from you, and
My covenant of peace will
not
be broken
, ”
says the
LORD,
who has compassion
on you.
you
afflicted ,
tossed
with
tempest
, and
not
comforted
, behold
, I will set your stones in beautiful
colors,
and lay your foundations with sapphires.
“O
afflicted city
, lashed
by
storms
, without
solace
, surely
I will set your stones in antimony
and lay your foundations with sapphires.
I will make your pinnacles of rubies, and
your gates of emeralds
, and all your border
of precious stones.
I will make your pinnacles of rubies, your gates of sparkling
jewels
, and all your walls
of precious stones.
All your children
shall
be taught of
Yahweh;
and great shall
be the
peace
of
your
children
.
Then
all your sons
will
be taught by
the
LORD,
and great will
be their
prosperity
.
In righteousness shall
you be established :
you
shall
be
far from oppression, for you shall
not
be
afraid;
and
from
terror, for it shall
not come near you.
In righteousness you will
be established ,
far from oppression, for you will
have
no
fear.
Terror will
be
far
removed
, for it will
not come near you.
Behold,
they
may
gather
together
, but
not by
me :
whoever shall
gather
together
against
you shall
fall because
of
you.
If
anyone
attacks
you
, it
is
not from
Me ;
whoever assails
you will
fall before
you.
Behold, I have created the smith
who blows
the fire
of
coals ,
and brings
forth
a weapon for his
work
; and I have created the waster
to destroy
.
Behold, I have created the craftsman
who fans
the coals into
flame
and forges
a weapon fit
for its
task
; and I have created the destroyer
to wreak
havoc
.
No weapon that
is
formed against you shall prosper ;
and every tongue that shall
rise
against
you
in
judgment
you shall
condemn
. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh
, and their righteousness
which
is of
me, says
Yahweh
.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper ,
and you
will
refute
every tongue that accuses
you. This is the heritage of the servants of the
LORD
, and their vindication
is from
Me, ”
declares
the
LORD
.
