parts
, and many
ways,
God
of
old
having
spoken
to
the fathers in
the prophets,
God
, who
at
sundry
times
and in
divers
manners
spake
in
time
past
unto
the fathers by
the prophets,
in these last days did
speak
to
us in
a
Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through
whom also He did
make
the ages
;
Hath
in these last days spoken
unto
us by
his
Son, whom he hath
appointed heir of all things, by
whom also he made
the worlds
;
who being the brightness of the
glory, and the impress
of His subsistence
, bearing
up
also
the
all things by the saying
of his might
--
through
himself having
made
a
cleansing
of
our sins, sat down at
the right hand of the greatness
in
the
highest,
Who being the brightness of his
glory, and the express
image
of his person
, and
upholding
all things by the word
of his power,
when
he
had
by
himself purged
our sins, sat down on
the right hand of the Majesty
on
high:
having
become
so much better than the messengers
, as he did
inherit
a more excellent name than they.
Being
made
so much better than the angels
, as he hath
by
inheritance
obtained
a more excellent name than they.
For to
which of the messengers
said He ever
, `My
Son
thou art --
I
to-
day have begotten thee? '
and again, `
I will be to him for
a father, and he shall be to Me for
a son? '
For unto
which of the angels
said he at
any
time
, Thou art my
Son,
this
day have I
begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
and when
again He may
bring
in the first-born
to
the world, He saith, `
And let them
bow
before
him
--
all messengers
of God ;'
And again ,
when
he bringeth
in the firstbegotten
into
the world, he saith, And let all the
angels
of God worship
him.
and unto
the messengers,
indeed,
He saith, `
Who is
making
His messengers
spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire ;'
And of
the angels
he saith, Who maketh
his angels
spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire .
and
unto the Son :
`
Thy throne, O God, `
is '
to
the
age
of
the
age;
a scepter
of righteousness `
is '
the scepter
of thy reign;
But
unto the Son he
saith,
Thy throne, O God, is for
ever
and
ever:
a sceptre
of righteousness is the sceptre
of thy kingdom.
thou didst
love
righteousness, and didst
hate
lawlessness
; because
of
this
did
He
anoint
thee
--
God, thy God --
with oil of gladness above thy partners;'
Thou hast
loved
righteousness, and hated
iniquity
; therefore
God, even
thy God ,
hath
anointed
thee
with the
oil of gladness above thy fellows.
and, `
Thou, at
the
beginning,
Lord, the earth didst
found,
and a
work
of
thy
hands
are
the heavens ;
And, Thou, Lord, in
the beginning
hast
laid
the
foundation
of
the
earth ;
and the heavens are
the
works
of
thine
hands:
these
shall perish ,
and
Thou dost
remain,
and all ,
as a garment ,
shall
become
old,
They
shall perish ;
but
thou remainest;
and they
all shall
wax
old
as doth
a garment ;
and as a mantle
Thou shall
roll
them together
, and they shall be changed ,
and
Thou art the same, and Thy years shall not fail. '
And as a vesture
shalt
thou fold
them up
, and they shall be changed :
but
thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
And
unto
which of the messengers
said He ever
, `
Sit at
My right hand, till
I may
make thine enemies thy footstool? '
But
to
which of the angels
said he at
any
time
, Sit on
my right hand, until
I make thine enemies thy footstool?
are they not all spirits of
service
--
for
ministration
being
sent forth because
of
those
about
to inherit
salvation?
Are they not all ministering
spirits ,
sent forth to minister
for
them
who
shall
be
heirs
of
salvation?
