Israel traveled
with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and
offered sacrifices to the God of his father ,
Isaac.
So
Israel set
out
with all that he had, and when
he
came to Beersheba, he
offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
God spoke to Israel in the
visions
of
the
night,
and
said,
"
Jacob, Jacob! "
He said ,
"
Here I am. "
And
that
night
God spoke to Israel in a
vision:
“
Jacob, Jacob! ”
He said .
“
Here I am ,”
replied
Jacob
.
He
said,
"
I am God, the God of your father. Don't
be afraid to go down into
Egypt ;
for there
I will make of
you a great nation.
“
I am God, ”
He
said,
“
the God of your father. Do
not
be afraid to go down to
Egypt ,
for I will make you into
a great nation there
.
I will go down with you into
Egypt .
I will also
surely bring you up
again
. Joseph
will close your eyes. "
I will go down with you to
Egypt ,
and
I will surely bring you back
. And
Joseph’s
own
hands
will close your eyes. ”
Jacob rose
up
from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried
Jacob,
their father ,
their
little
ones,
and
their
wives,
in the wagons which
Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
Then
Jacob departed
from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel took
their father Jacob
in the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry him ,
along
with
their
children
and
wives
.
They took their
cattle,
and their
goods,
which
they had gotten
in the land of Canaan, and came
into
Egypt--
Jacob ,
and all his seed
with
him,
They also
took the
livestock
and possessions
they had acquired
in the land of Canaan, and Jacob and all his offspring
went
to
Egypt.
his
sons,
and
his
sons'
sons
with him ,
his daughters
, and his sons'
daughters ,
and he
brought
all his seed
with
him
into
Egypt
.
Jacob
took
with him to
Egypt
his sons
and
grandsons
, and his daughters and granddaughters—
all his offspring
.
These are the names of the children
of Israel ,
who
came
into
Egypt,
Jacob and his sons
: Reuben, Jacob's
firstborn.
Now
these are the names of the sons
of Israel (
Jacob and his descendants)
who
went
to
Egypt
: Reuben, Jacob’s
firstborn.
The sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

of Jacob’s

to

He
sent Judah before
him to Joseph ,
to show
the
way
before

to Goshen ,
and
they
came
into
the land of Goshen .
Now
Jacob
had
sent Judah ahead
of
him to Joseph to get
directions
to Goshen .
When
Jacob’s
family
arrived
in
the land of Goshen ,
Joseph made
ready
his chariot ,
and went up
to meet Israel,
his father ,
in
Goshen
. He
presented himself to him, and
fell
on
his
neck
, and wept on
his
neck
a
good
while
.
Joseph prepared
his chariot and went there
to meet his father Israel
. Joseph
presented himself to him, embraced
him
, and wept profusely
.
Israel said to Joseph, "Now
let
me
die, since
I have seen your face ,
that you are still alive ."
Then
Israel said to Joseph, “Finally
I
can
die, now
that
I have seen your face and
know
that you are still alive !”
Joseph said to his brothers ,
and to his father's
house
, "
I will go up ,
and speak
with
Pharaoh ,
and
will
tell
him,
'
My brothers ,
and my father's
house,
who
were
in
the land of Canaan ,
have come to me.
Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s
household
, “
I will go up and inform
Pharaoh :
‘
My brothers and my father’s
household
from
the land of Canaan have come to me.
These
men are shepherds ,
for
they have
been
keepers
of
cattle
, and they have brought their flocks ,
and their
herds ,
and all that they have
. '
The
men are shepherds ;
they raise
livestock
, and they have brought their flocks and herds and all that they own
. ’
It
will
happen,
when Pharaoh summons you ,
and will
say
, '
What is your occupation? '
When Pharaoh summons you and asks
, ‘
What is your occupation? ’
that
you shall
say, '
Your servants have been
keepers
of
cattle
from
our youth even
until
now,
both we ,
and our fathers :'
that
you may
dwell
in the land of Goshen ;
for
every
shepherd
is
an
abomination
to the Egyptians. "
you are
to
say, ‘
Your servants have raised
livestock
ever
since
our youth —
both we and our fathers .’
Then
you will
be
allowed
to
settle
in the land of Goshen ,
since
all
shepherds
are
detestable
to the Egyptians. ”
