And
Israel took
his
journey
with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba
, and
offered sacrifices unto
the God of his father Isaac.
So
Israel set
out
with all that he had, and when
he
came to Beersheba

And God spake
unto
Israel in the
visions
of
the
night,
and
said,
Jacob, Jacob .
And
he said ,
Here am
I.
And that
night
God spoke
to
Israel in a
vision:
“
Jacob, Jacob !”
He said .
“
Here I am,”
replied
Jacob
.
And
he
said,
I am God, the God of thy
father :
fear
not to go down into
Egypt ;
for I will there
make of
thee
a great nation :
“
I am God, ”
He
said,
“
the God of your
father .
Do
not be
afraid
to go down to
Egypt ,
for I will make you
into
a great nation there.
I will go down with thee
into
Egypt ;
and I will also
surely bring thee
up
again:
and Joseph
shall
put
his
hand
upon
thine
eyes.
I will go down with you
to
Egypt ,
and I will surely bring you
back.
And Joseph’s
own
hands
will
close
your
eyes. ”

‘
My brothers
and my father’s
household

and
the men are shepherds ,
for
they
have
been
keepers
of

and their
herds ,
and all that they have
.
The men are shepherds; they
raise
livestock,
and they have brought their flocks and herds and all that they own

When Pharaoh summons
you and asks
, ‘
What is your occupation? ’
that
ye
shall
say, Thy
servants have been
keepers
of
cattle
from
our youth even
until
now,
both we ,
and our fathers :
that
ye
may
dwell
in the land of Goshen ;
for
every
shepherd
is
an
abomination
unto
the Egyptians.
you
are
to
say, ‘Your
servants have raised
livestock
ever
since
our youth —
both we and our fathers .’
Then
you
will
be
allowed
to
settle
in the land of Goshen ,
since
all
shepherds
are
detestable
to
the Egyptians. ”
