And
the word of the
LORD
came to me, saying,
The word of Yahweh
came again
to me, saying,
“
Son of man, tell the ruler
of Tyre that
this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: Your heart is proud
, and you have said, ‘
I am a god ;
I sit in the seat of gods
in the heart
of the sea.’
Yet you are a
man and not a
god, though you have
regarded
your heart as that
of a
god .
Son of man, tell the prince
of Tyre ,
Thus
says
the Lord Yahweh
: Because
your heart is lifted
up
, and you have said, I am a god ,
I sit in the seat of God,
in the midst
of the seas;
yet you are man ,
and not God, though you did
set
your heart as the
heart
of God ;-
Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you !
behold, you are wiser than Daniel; there
is
no secret that
is hidden from you ;
By your wisdom and understanding you have gained
your
wealth
and amassed
gold and silver for
your treasuries.
by your wisdom and by
your
understanding you have gotten
you
riches,
and have
gotten
gold and silver into
your treasures;
By your great skill
in
trading
you
have increased your wealth
, but
your heart has
grown
proud
because of it.
by your great wisdom
[and]
by
your
traffic
have you
increased your riches
, and
your heart is
lifted
up
because of your
riches;-
Therefore this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: Because you regard
your heart as the heart of a
god,
therefore thus
says
the Lord Yahweh
: Because you have
set
your heart as the heart of God,
behold, I will bring foreigners
against
you, the most
ruthless
of nations .
They will
draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and will
defile your splendor
.
therefore,
behold, I will bring strangers
on
you, the terrible
of the
nations ;
and
they shall
draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom ,
and they
shall
defile your brightness
.
They will
bring you down to the Pit ,
and you will
die a
violent
death in the heart of the seas.
They shall
bring you down to the pit ;
and you shall
die the
death of
those
who
are
slain,
in the heart of the seas.
Will you still
say, ‘
I am a
god ,’
in
the
presence
of
those
who
slay
you
? You will
be
only
a
man, not a
god, in the hands
of those
who wound
you.
Will you yet
say before
him
who
kills
you
, I am God? but
you are
man, and
not God, in the hand
of him
who wounds
you.
You will
die the death of the uncircumcised at
the hands
of foreigners.
For I have spoken, declares
the Lord GOD
. ”
You shall
die the death of the uncircumcised by
the hand
of strangers:
for I have spoken it
, says
the Lord Yahweh
.
Again
the word of the
LORD
came to me, saying,
Moreover
the word of Yahweh
came to me, saying,
“
Son of man, take up a lament
for
the king of Tyre and tell him that
this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
You were
the
seal of
perfection
, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
Son of man, take up a lamentation
over
the king of Tyre ,
and tell him ,
Thus
says
the Lord Yahweh
: You seal up
the
sum
, full of wisdom ,
and perfect in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God .
Every kind
of
precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, and
diamond
, beryl
, onyx
, and
jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald
. Your
mountings
and settings
were
crafted
in gold,
prepared
on
the day of
your
creation
.
You were in Eden, the garden of God ;
every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald
, chrysolite
, onx
, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl
. Gold
work
of
tambourines
and of
pipes
was
in you.
In
the day that
you
were
created
they
were
prepared
.
You were anointed as
a
guardian
cherub ,
for
I had
ordained
you .
You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among
the fiery
stones.
You were the
anointed cherub who
covers:
and
I set
you ,
[so
that]
you were on the holy mountain of God; you have
walked up
and
down
in
the midst
of
the
stones of
fire
.
From the day you were created you
were
blameless
in
your
ways—
until wickedness
was found in you.
You
were
perfect
in
your
ways
from the day that
you were created ,
until unrighteousness
was found in you.
By the vastness
of your trade,
you
were
filled with violence, and you sinned .
So
I drove
you in
disgrace
from
the mountain of God ,
and I banished
you, O
guardian
cherub, from among
the fiery
stones.
By the abundance
of your traffic
they
filled the
midst
of
you
with violence, and you have
sinned :
therefore
I have
cast
you as
profane
out
of
the mountain of God ;
and I have
destroyed
you, covering
cherub, from the midst
of
the
stones of
fire
.
Your heart grew
proud
of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because
of your splendor;
so
I cast you to the earth
; I made
you a
spectacle
before kings.
Your heart was
lifted
up
because
of your beauty; you have
corrupted your wisdom by
reason
of your brightness:
I have
cast you to the ground
; I have
laid
you before kings ,
that
they
may
see
you
.
By the multitude of your iniquities and
the dishonesty
of your trading
you have profaned your sanctuaries .
So
I made
fire come
from within
you ,
and
it consumed
you .
I reduced
you to ashes on the ground
in the eyes
of all who saw
you.
By the multitude of your iniquities ,
in
the unrighteousness
of your traffic,
you have profaned your sanctuaries ;
therefore
have
I brought
forth
a
fire from the
midst
of
you ;
it has
devoured
you ,
and
I have
turned
you to ashes on the earth
in the sight
of all those
who see
you.
All the
nations
who know you are
appalled
over
you .
You have
come
to
a horrible
end
and will
be
no
more
. ’”
All those
who know you among
the
peoples
shall
be
astonished
at
you :
you are
become
a terror,
and you
shall
nevermore
have
any
being
.
Then
the word of the
LORD
came to me, saying,
The word of Yahweh
came to me, saying,
“
Son of man, set your face against
Sidon and prophesy against her.
Son of man, set your face toward
Sidon ,
and prophesy against it,
And you
are
to
declare
that
this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
Behold, I am against you, O
Sidon ,
and I will be glorified within
you .
They will
know that I am the
LORD
when I execute
judgments against
her and demonstrate
My
holiness
through
her.
and say,
Thus
says
the Lord Yahweh
: Behold, I am against you, Sidon ;
and I will be glorified in
the
midst
of
you ;
and
they shall
know that I am Yahweh,
when I shall
have
executed
judgments in
her ,
and shall
be
sanctified
in
her.
I will send a
plague
against
her and shed
blood in
her streets; the slain
will
fall within
her, while
the sword is
against
her on every side .
Then
they will
know that I am the
LORD
.
For
I will send pestilence
into
her ,
and blood into
her streets; and
the wounded
shall
fall in
the
midst
of
her, with
the sword on
her on every side ;
and
they shall
know that I am Yahweh
.
For
the
people
of
Israel
will
no longer
face
a pricking brier or
a painful
thorn from
all
around
them who
treat
them with
contempt.
Then
they will
know that I am the Lord GOD
. ’
There
shall
be
no more
a pricking brier to
the
house
of
Israel,
nor
a hurting
thorn of
any
that
are
round
about
them ,
that
did
despite
to
them ;
and
they shall
know that I am the Lord Yahweh
.
This
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
When I gather
the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they have
been
scattered, I
will
show
Myself
holy
among
them in the sight of the nations .
Then they will
dwell in their own land ,
which I have
given
to My servant Jacob.
Thus
says
the Lord Yahweh
: When I shall
have
gathered
the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are
scattered, and
shall
be
sanctified
in
them in the sight of the nations ,
then shall
they dwell in their own land which I gave
to my servant Jacob.
And
there
they will
dwell securely, build houses, and plant vineyards .
They
will
dwell securely when I execute
judgments against
all those around
them
who treat
them with
contempt.
Then
they will
know that I am the
LORD
their God. ’”
They shall
dwell securely therein;
yes
, they
shall
build houses, and plant vineyards ,
and
shall
dwell securely ,
when I have
executed
judgments on
all those who do
them despite
round
about
them;
and
they shall
know that I am Yahweh
their God.
