And
the word of Jehovah
came unto
me, saying,
Then
the word of the
LORD
came to
me, saying,
Son of man, set thy
face toward
the children
of
Ammon,
and prophesy against them :
“
Son of man, set your
face against
the Ammonites
and prophesy against them .
and
say
unto
the children
of
Ammon,
Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah:
Thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah,
Because thou
saidst
, Aha ,
against
my sanctuary ,
when
it
was profaned ;
and
against
the land of Israel ,
when
it
was made
desolate;
and against
the house of Judah ,
when
they
went into captivity:
Tell
the Ammonites
to
hear the word of the Lord GOD,
for
this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says:
‘
Because you
exclaimed
, “
Aha !”
when
My sanctuary was profaned ,
when
the land of Israel was laid
waste,
and when
the house of Judah went into exile,
therefore ,
behold,
I will deliver
thee
to the children
of the east for
a
possession,
and
they shall
set their encampments
in
thee,
and make
their dwellings
in
thee;
they shall
eat thy
fruit ,
and they
shall
drink thy
milk.
therefore I will indeed
give
you
as
a
possession
to the people
of the East .
They will
set up
their camps
and pitch
their tents
among
you.
They will
eat your
fruit and drink your
milk.
And
I will make Rabbah a stable
for camels, and the
children
of
Ammon a couching-
place for flocks:
and
ye
shall
know that I am Jehovah
.
I will make Rabbah a pasture
for camels, and Ammon a resting
place for sheep.
Then
you
will
know that I am the
LORD
. ’
For thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah
: Because thou
hast
clapped thy
hands ,
and stamped
with
the
feet ,
and rejoiced with
all
the
despite
of
thy
soul
against
the land of Israel ;
For this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
Because you
clapped your
hands and stomped
your
feet and rejoiced over
the land of Israel with
a
heart
full
of
contempt,
therefore ,
behold,
I have
stretched
out my hand upon
thee,
and will
deliver
thee
for
a
spoil
to the nations ;
and
I will cut thee
off from the peoples ,
and I
will
cause
thee
to
perish
out
of
the countries :
I will destroy thee;
and thou
shalt
know that I am Jehovah
.
therefore I will
indeed
stretch
out My hand against
you
and give
you
as
plunder
to the nations .
I will cut you
off from the peoples and exterminate
you
from
the countries .
I will destroy you,
and you
will
know that I am the
LORD
. ’
Thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah
: Because that
Moab and Seir do
say
, Behold
, the house of Judah is like unto
all the nations ;
This
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
Because Moab and Seir said
, “Look
, the house of Judah is like all the other
nations ,”
therefore ,
behold,
I will open
the side
of Moab from
the
cities,
from
his
cities which
are
on
his
frontiers,
the
glory
of
the
country,
Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim ,
therefore I will indeed
expose
the flank
of Moab beginning
with
its
frontier
cities —
Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim —the
glory
of
the
land.
unto
the
children
of
the
east,
`to
go'
against
the
children
of
Ammon;
and
I will give them
for
a possession, that the children
of
Ammon
may
not
be remembered among the nations.
I will give it
along
with
the
Ammonites
as
a possession to
the
people
of
the
East
, so
that the Ammonites
will
no
longer
be remembered among the nations.
and
I will execute judgments upon
Moab ;
and they shall
know that I am Jehovah
.
So
I will execute judgments on
Moab ,
and they will
know that I am the
LORD
. ’
Thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah
: Because that
Edom hath
dealt
against the house of Judah by
taking
vengeance
, and hath
greatly
offended
, and
revenged
himself
upon
them;
This
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
Because Edom acted
vengefully
against the house of Judah, and in
so
doing
incurred
grievous
guilt
,
therefore thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah,
I will stretch out my hand upon
Edom ,
and will
cut off man
and
beast
from it ;
and I will make it desolate
from Teman ;
even
unto
Dedan shall
they fall by the sword.
therefore this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says:
I will stretch out My hand against
Edom and cut off from it both
man
and beast.
I will make it a
wasteland,
and
from Teman to
Dedan they will
fall by the sword.
And
I will lay
my vengeance upon
Edom by the hand of my people Israel ;
and they shall
do
in
Edom according to mine
anger and according
to
my
wrath ;
and
they shall
know my vengeance, saith
the Lord Jehovah
.
I will take
My vengeance on
Edom by the hand of My people Israel ,
and they will
deal
with
Edom according to My
anger and wrath .
Then
they will
know My vengeance, declares
the Lord GOD
. ’
Thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah
: Because the Philistines have
dealt
by
revenge
, and
have
taken
vengeance with despite
of soul to destroy with perpetual
enmity;
This
is
what
the Lord GOD
says
: ‘
Because the Philistines acted
in
vengeance
, taking
vengeance with malice
of soul to destroy Judah
with ancient
hostility,
therefore thus
saith
the Lord Jehovah,
Behold, I will stretch out my hand upon
the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites ,
and destroy the remnant of
the sea
coast.
therefore this
is
what
the Lord GOD
says:
Behold, I will stretch out My hand against
the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant along
the coast.
And
I will execute great vengeance upon
them with wrathful
rebukes;
and
they shall
know that I am Jehovah
, when I shall
lay my vengeance upon them.
I will execute great vengeance against
them with furious
reproof.
Then
they will
know that I am the
LORD
, when I lay My vengeance upon them. ’”
