These
are
the commandments
and
statutes and ordinances
that
the LORD
your God has
instructed
me
to teach you to
follow
in the land that
you are
about
to enter
and
possess ,
Now
this
is
the commandment,
the
statutes ,
and the ordinances,
which
Yahweh
your God commanded
to teach you ,
that
you
might
do
them
in the land where
you go
over
to possess it;
so
that you and
your
children
and
grandchildren
may
fear the
LORD
your God all
the
days
of
your
lives
by
keeping
all His statutes and commandments that
I give
you, and so
that your days may be prolonged.
that you might
fear Yahweh
your God ,
to
keep
all his statutes and his
commandments ,
which
I command
you, you,
and your
son,
and
your
son's
son,
all
the
days
of
your
life;
and
that your days may be prolonged.
Hear, O
Israel, and be
careful
to
observe them,
so
that you
may prosper
and
multiply
greatly
in
a
land
flowing
with milk
and honey
, just
as the
LORD
, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
Hear therefore
, Israel, and observe to
do
it;
that it
may be
well
with you,
and that
you
may
increase
mightily
, as Yahweh
, the God of your fathers, has promised to
you ,
in
a
land
flowing
with
milk
and
honey
.
Hear, O
Israel: The
LORD
our God ,
the
LORD
is One .
Hear, Israel: Yahweh
is
our God ;
Yahweh
is one :
And you shall love the
LORD
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength
.
and you shall love Yahweh
your God with all your heart ,
and with all your soul ,
and with all your might
.
These words I am
commanding
you today
are
to
be upon
your hearts.
These words ,
which
I command
you this
day,
shall
be on
your heart;
And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak
of them when you sit at
home
and when you walk along
the road
, when you lie down and when you get
up.
and you shall teach them diligently to your children ,
and shall
talk
of them when you sit in
your
house,
and when you walk by
the way
, and
when you lie down ,
and when you rise
up.
Tie
them as
reminders
on your hands
and bind
them
on
your foreheads
.
You
shall
bind
them for
a
sign
on your hand,
and they
shall
be
for
symbols
between
your eyes
.
Write them on the doorposts
of your houses
and on your gates.
You
shall
write them on the door-posts
of your house,
and on your gates.
And
when the
LORD
your God brings
you into the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that
He
would
give you —a
land
with
great and splendid
cities that
you did
not
build,
It
shall
be,
when Yahweh
your God shall
bring
you into the land which
he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to
Isaac, and to
Jacob, to
give you ,
great and goodly
cities ,
which
you didn't
build,
with
houses full of every
good thing
with
which you did
not
fill them
, with
wells
that
you did
not
dig, and
with
vineyards and olive groves
that
you did
not
plant —
and when
you eat and are
satisfied,
and
houses full of all
good things,
which you didn't
fill, and
cisterns
dug
out,
which
you didn't
dig, vineyards and olive trees,
which
you didn't
plant ,
and you shall
eat and be
full;
be
careful
not
to
forget the
LORD
who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery
.
then
beware
lest
you
forget Yahweh,
who brought you forth
out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage
.
Fear the
LORD
your God ,
serve
Him only
, and take
your
oaths
in
His name.
You
shall
fear Yahweh
your God ;
and
him shall
you
serve
, and shall
swear
by
his name.
Do
not follow
other gods, the gods of the peoples around
you .
You
shall
not go
after
other gods, of
the gods of the peoples who
are
round
about
you ;
For the
LORD
your God ,
who
is
among
you ,
is a jealous God .
Otherwise
the anger of the
LORD
your God will
be kindled against you, and He will
wipe
you off the face of the earth.
for Yahweh
your God in
the
midst
of
you is a jealous God ;
lest
the anger of Yahweh
your God be kindled against you, and he destroy
you from
off the face of the earth.
Do
not test
the
LORD
your God as you tested
Him at
Massah.
You
shall
not tempt
Yahweh
your God ,
as you tempted
him in
Massah.
You are
to
diligently keep the commandments of the
LORD
your God and the
testimonies and statutes He has given
you.
You shall
diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh
your God ,
and his
testimonies ,
and his
statutes ,
which
he has commanded
you.
Do what
is right and good in the sight of the
LORD,
so
that it may be well with you and that you may enter
and possess the good land that
the
LORD
your
God
swore to give
your fathers,
You
shall
do that
which
is right and good in the sight of Yahweh;
that it may be well with you ,
and that you may go
in
and possess the good land which
Yahweh
swore to your fathers,
driving
out all your enemies before you, as the
LORD
has said
.
to
thrust
out all your enemies from
before you, as Yahweh
has spoken
.
In
the
future,
when your son asks, “
What is
the
meaning
of
the decrees
and statutes and ordinances
that
the LORD
our God has commanded you? ”
When your son asks you
in
time
to
come
, saying,
What mean
the testimonies,
and the
statutes ,
and the ordinances,
which
Yahweh
our God has commanded you?
then you are
to
tell him
, “
We were slaves
of
Pharaoh
in Egypt ,
but
the
LORD
brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand .
then you shall
tell your
son
, We were Pharaoh's
bondservants
in Egypt :
and
Yahweh
brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand ;
Before
our
eyes
the
LORD
inflicted
great
and devastating
signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household.
and Yahweh
shown
signs and wonders ,
great
and
sore,
on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house,
before
our
eyes;
But
He brought us out from there to
lead
us in and
give us the land that
He had
sworn
to our fathers.
and
he brought us out from there ,
that
he
might
bring
us in ,
to
give us the land which
he swore
to our fathers.
And
the
LORD
commanded us to observe
all these statutes and
to fear the
LORD
our God, that
we
may
always be
prosperous
and
preserved
, as we
are
to
this day.
Yahweh
commanded us to do
all these statutes ,
to fear Yahweh
our God, for
our
good
always, that
he
might
preserve
us
alive,
as at
this day.
And
if we are
careful
to
observe every
one
of
these
commandments
before the
LORD
our God, as He has commanded us ,
then
that
will
be
our
righteousness
. ”
It
shall
be
righteousness
to
us,
if we observe to
do
all
this
commandment
before Yahweh
our God, as he has commanded us.
