Moses called
to
all Israel ,
and said to them ,
Hear, Israel, the statutes and the
ordinances which
I speak
in your ears
this day ,
that
you
may
learn them ,
and observe to
do
them.
Then
Moses summoned
all Israel and said to them :
Hear, O
Israel, the statutes and ordinances that
I declare
in your hearing
this day .
Learn them and observe them carefully
.
Yahweh
our God made a covenant with us in
Horeb.
The
LORD
our God made a covenant with us at
Horeb.
Yahweh
didn't
make this covenant with our fathers, but with us,
even
us,
who
are
all of us here
alive this
day
.
He
did
not
make this covenant with our fathers, but with all of us who
are
alive here
today
.
Yahweh
spoke with you face to face on
the
mountain
out of the midst
of
the
fire ,
The
LORD
spoke with you face to face out of the fire on
the
mountain.
(
I stood
between Yahweh
and you at
that
time,
to show
you the word of Yahweh:
for
you were afraid because
of the fire ,
and didn't
go up onto
the mountain ;)
saying,
At
that
time
I was
standing
between the
LORD
and you to declare
to
you the word of the
LORD,
because
you were afraid of the fire and would
not
go up the mountain .
And
He
said:
"
I am Yahweh
your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage
.
“
I am the
LORD
your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery
.
You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall have no other gods before Me.
"
You shall not make an
engraved
image
for yourself ,
[nor]
any
likeness
[
of anything ]
that
is
in heaven
above, or
that
is
in
the earth beneath
, or that
is
in the water
under
the
earth:
You shall not make for yourself an
idol
in
the
form
of anything in the
heavens
above, on
the earth below
, or in the waters
beneath.
you shall not bow down yourself
to them ,
nor
serve
them; for I, Yahweh,
your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the
children ,
and
on
the third and on
the
fourth generation
of those who hate me ;
You shall not bow down to them or
worship
them; for I, the
LORD
your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their
children to
the third and fourth generations
of those who hate Me ,
and
showing loving kindness
to thousands
of those who love me and keep my commandments.
but
showing loving devotion
to a
thousand
generations
of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
"
You shall not take the name of Yahweh
your God in vain :
for Yahweh
will not hold
him
guiltless
who takes his name in vain.
You shall not take the name of the
LORD
your God in vain ,
for the
LORD
will not leave
anyone
unpunished
who takes His name in vain.
"
Observe the Sabbath day ,
to
keep
it holy, as Yahweh
your God commanded you.
Observe the Sabbath day by
keeping
it holy, as the
LORD
your God has
commanded you.
Six days shall
you labor ,
and do all your work ;
Six days you shall
labor and do all your work ,
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh
your God :
[in
it]
you shall
not do any work ,
you, nor your son ,
nor
your
daughter, nor your man-servant,
nor
your
maid-servant
, nor your ox ,
nor
your
donkey ,
nor
any of your cattle
, nor your
stranger
who
is
within your gates ;
that your man-servant
and your
maid-servant
may rest as well
as
you.
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the
LORD
your God ,
on
which
you must
not do any work —neither
you, nor your son or
daughter, nor your manservant
or
maidservant
, nor your ox or
donkey or
any of your livestock
, nor the
foreigner
within your gates ,
so
that your manservant
and maidservant
may rest as you do
.
You
shall
remember that you were a servant
in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh
your God brought you out of there by
a mighty hand and by
an outstretched arm :
therefore
Yahweh
your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Remember that you were a slave
in the land of Egypt, and that
the
LORD
your God brought you out of there with
a mighty hand and an outstretched arm .
That
is
why
the
LORD
your God has
commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
"
Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh
your God commanded you ;
that your days may be long ,
and that it may go well with you ,
in the land which
Yahweh
your God gives
you.

You shall not murder.

shall
you commit adultery.

false testimony
against your neighbor.
You shall

bear
false witness
against your neighbor.
"Neither
shall
you covet your neighbor's
wife ;
neither
shall
you desire
your neighbor's
house ,
his
field, or his man-servant,
or his
maid-servant
, his ox ,
or his
donkey, or anything that is
your neighbor's
. "
You shall
not
covet your neighbor’s
wife .
You shall
not
covet
your neighbor’s
house or
field, or his manservant
or maidservant
, or
his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs
to
your neighbor
. ”
These
words
Yahweh
spoke to all
your assembly on
the
mountain
out of the midst
of
the
fire, of
the cloud, and of
the thick
darkness ,
with
a
great
voice:
and
he added no
more. He wrote them on two tables
of stone ,
and gave them to me.
The
LORD
spoke these
commandments
in
a
loud
voice
to your whole
assembly out of the fire, the cloud, and the deep
darkness on
the
mountain;
He added nothing
more. And
He wrote them on two tablets
of stone and gave them to me.
It
happened,
when you heard the voice out of the midst
of
the
darkness ,
while the mountain was burning
with fire, that
you
came
near
to
me,
even
all the heads of your tribes ,
and your elders ;
And
when you heard the voice out of the darkness while the mountain was blazing
with fire, all the heads of your tribes and your elders approached
me,
and you said, Behold, Yahweh
our God has shown us his glory and his
greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst
of
the
fire :
we have seen this
day
that God does
speak
with man,
and
he
lives
.
and you said, “
Behold, the
LORD
our God has shown us His glory and greatness, and we have heard His voice out of the fire .
Today
we have seen that a
man
can
live
even
if
God speaks
with him
.
Now therefore
why should we die? for this great fire will consume us :
if we hear the voice of Yahweh
our God any more,
then
we
shall
die
.
But
now ,
why should we die? For this great fire will consume us ,
and
we
will
die,
if we hear the voice of the
LORD
our God any longer
.
For who is
there
of all flesh ,
that
has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst
of
the
fire, as we have, and lived
?
For who of all flesh has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the fire, as we have, and survived
?
Go you
near ,
and hear
all that Yahweh
our God shall
say:
and
speak
you to
us all
that
Yahweh
our God shall
speak
to
you; and
we will hear
it,
and do
it
.
Go near and listen
to
all that the
LORD
our God says.
Then
you can
tell
us everything
the
LORD
our God tells
you; we will listen
and obey
. ”
Yahweh
heard the voice
of
your
words ,
when
you spoke to me ;
and Yahweh
said to me, I have heard the voice
of
the
words of
this
people ,
which
they
have spoken to you :
they have well said
all that they have spoken.
And
the
LORD
heard the words you spoke to me ,
and He
said to me, “
I have heard the words that
these
people have spoken to you .
They have done
well in
all that they have spoken.
Oh
that
there
were
such a heart in
them,
that
they
would
fear me ,
and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them ,
and with their children forever !
If
only
they
had
such a heart to
fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so
that it might be well with them and with their children forever .
Go tell them ,
Return you
to your tents.
Go and
tell them :
‘
Return to your tents. ’
But as
for
you ,
stand you
here by
me, and
I will
speak to you all the commandment,
and the
statutes ,
and the
ordinances ,
which
you shall
teach them ,
that
they
may
do
them
in the land which
I give
them to possess it
.
But you stand here with
Me, that
I may
speak to you all the commandments
and statutes and ordinances you are
to
teach them to
follow
in the land that
I am
giving
them to possess. ”
You
shall
observe
to do therefore
as Yahweh
your God has commanded you :
you shall
not turn aside to the right hand
or to the left.
So
be
careful
to do as the
LORD
your God has commanded you ;
you are
not to
turn aside to the right or to the left.
You shall
walk in all the way
which
Yahweh
your God has commanded you, that you may live ,
and that
it
may
be
well
with
you,
and that
you
may
prolong your days in the land which
you shall
possess.
You must
walk in all the ways
that
the
LORD
your God has commanded you, so
that you may live and prosper
and prolong your days in the land that
you will
possess.
