Then we turned ,
and went up the way
to Bashan :
and Og the
king of Bashan came out against
us ,
he
and
all
his
people,
unto
battle at Edrei.
Then we turned and went up the road
to Bashan ,
and Og king of Bashan and
his
whole
army
came out to
meet
us in
battle at Edrei.
And
Jehovah
said unto
me, Fear him not;
for I have delivered him, and
all his people ,
and his land ,
into
thy
hand;
and
thou
shalt
do unto
him as thou
didst
unto
Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt
at
Heshbon.
But
the
LORD
said to
me, “Do
not
fear him ,
for I have delivered him into
your
hand
, along
with
all his people and his land .
Do to
him as you
did
to
Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived
in
Heshbon. ”
So Jehovah
our God delivered into
our
hand
Og also,
the
king of Bashan ,
and all
his people:
and
we smote
him
until none
was left to
him
remaining
.
So the
LORD
our God also
delivered Og king of Bashan and his whole
army
into
our
hands.
We struck
them
down
until no
survivor
was left.
And
we took
all his cities at
that
time;
there was not a city which
we took
not
from
them;
threescore
cities,
all
the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
At
that
time
we captured
all sixty
of
his cities .
There was not a single
city we failed
to
take—
the entire
region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
All these were
cities fortified with high walls ,
gates ,
and bars ;
besides
the
unwalled
towns
a
great
many.
All these cities were
fortified with high walls and
gates and bars ,
and
there
were
many more
unwalled
villages
.
And
we utterly
destroyed
them, as we did
unto
Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every
inhabited
city,
with
the women and the
little
ones
.
We devoted
them to
destruction
, as we had
done
to
Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men,
women ,
and children
of
every
city
.
But all the cattle,
and the
spoil
of the cities ,
we took
for a
prey
unto
ourselves.
But all the livestock
and plunder
of the cities we carried
off
for ourselves.
And
we
took
the
land
at that time out
of
the
hand
of
the two kings of the Amorites that
were
beyond
the Jordan, from the valley
of
the
Arnon unto
mount Hermon ;
At that time we
took
from
the two kings of the Amorites the land
across
the
Jordan, from the Arnon Valley
as
far
as
Mount Hermon —
(`
which '
Hermon
the Sidonians call Sirion ,
and
the Amorites call it
Senir ;)
which the Sidonians call Sirion but
the Amorites call Senir —
all the cities of the plain
, and
all Gilead, and all Bashan ,
unto
Salecah and Edrei ,
cities
of
the kingdom of Og in
Bashan
.
all the cities of the plateau
, all of
Gilead, and all of
Bashan as
far
as
the
cities
of
Salecah and Edrei in
the kingdom of Og.
(For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim ;
behold,
his bedstead
was
a
bedstead
of iron ;
is
it
not
in
Rabbah
of
the
children
of
Ammon?
nine cubits was
the
length
thereof,
and four cubits the
breadth
of
it
, after
the
cubit
of a
man
.)
(For only Og king of Bashan had
remained of the remnant of the Rephaim .
His bed
of iron ,
nine cubits long
and four cubits wide
, is
still
in
Rabbah
of the
Ammonites
.)
And
this
land
we
took
in
possession
at that time :
from
Aroer,
which
is
by
the
valley
of the Arnon, and half the hill -
country of Gilead, and
the
cities thereof,
gave
I
unto
the
Reubenites
and
to
the
Gadites:
So
at that time we
took
possession
of this
land.
To
the Reubenites
and
Gadites
I
gave
the
land
beyond
Aroer
along
the
Arnon Valley
, and half the hill country of Gilead, along
with
its
cities .
and
the rest of Gilead ,
and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og ,
gave
I
unto
the
half-tribe
of
Manasseh;
all
the region of Argob, even
all
Bashan.

The same
is
called the land of Rephaim.
To
the half-tribe
of
Manasseh
I
gave
the
rest of Gilead and all of
Bashan, the kingdom of Og .
(
The entire
region of Argob, the whole
territory
of
Bashan,
used
to
be
called the land of the
Rephaim. )
Jair the
son
of Manasseh took all
the region of Argob ,
unto
the border of the Geshurites and the
Maacathites ,
and
called
them,
even
Bashan ,
after his
own
name
, Havvoth-jair, unto
this day. )
Jair ,
a
descendant
of Manasseh ,
took the whole
region of Argob as
far
as
the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites .
He
renamed
Bashan after himself
, Havvoth-jair, by
which
it
is
called
to
this day.
And
I gave Gilead unto
Machir.
To
Machir
I gave Gilead ,
And unto
the Reubenites and unto
the
Gadites I gave from Gilead even
unto
the
valley
of
the Arnon ,
the middle of the valley ,
and
the border `thereof',
even
unto
the river
Jabbok, which
is
the border of the children
of
Ammon;
and to
the Reubenites and Gadites I gave the
territory
from Gilead to
the Arnon Valley
(
the middle of the valley was
the border )
and
up
to
the Jabbok River
, the border of the Ammonites.
the Arabah
also,
and
the
Jordan and
the border
`thereof',
from Chinnereth even
unto
the sea of the Arabah ,
the Salt Sea ,
under
the slopes of Pisgah eastward
.
The Jordan River
in
the Arabah
bordered
it
from Chinnereth to
the Sea of the Arabah (
the Salt Sea )
with
the slopes of Pisgah to
the
east
.
And
I
commanded
you
at that time ,
saying,
Jehovah
your God hath
given you this land to possess it:
ye
shall
pass
over armed before
your
brethren
the
children
of Israel
, all
the men
of
valor
.
At that time I
commanded
you:
“The
LORD
your God has
given you this land to possess .
All
your
men
of
valor
are
to
cross
over ,
armed for
battle,
ahead
of your
brothers
, the Israelites
.
But your wives, and
your little
ones
, and your cattle,
(
I know that ye
have much cattle,)
shall
abide
in your
cities which
I have given you,
But your wives, your children
, and your livestock—
I know that you
have much livestock—may
remain
in the
cities I have given you,
until Jehovah
give
rest unto
your brethren,
as unto
you, and they also
possess
the land which
Jehovah
your God giveth
them beyond
the Jordan :
then shall
ye
return every
man
unto
his
possession ,
which
I have given you.
until the
LORD
gives
rest to
your brothers
as He
has
to
you, and they too
have
taken
possession
of
the land that
the
LORD
your God is
giving
them across
the Jordan .
Then each
of
you
may
return to
the
possession I have given you. ”
And I
commanded
Joshua
at that time ,
saying,
Thine
eyes have seen all that Jehovah
your God hath
done unto
these two kings :
so
shall
Jehovah
do unto
all the kingdoms whither
thou
goest
over
.
And at that time I
commanded
Joshua:
“Your
own
eyes have seen all that the
LORD
your God has
done to
these two kings .
The
LORD
will
do the
same
to
all the kingdoms you
are
about
to
enter
.
Ye
shall
not fear
them ;
for Jehovah
your God ,
he
it
is
that
fighteth
for you.
Do
not be
afraid
of
them ,
for the
LORD
your God Himself
will
fight
for you. ”
And
I
besought
Jehovah
at that time ,
saying,
At that time I
also
pleaded
with
the
LORD:
O Lord Jehovah
, thou
hast
begun to show thy
servant
thy
greatness ,
and thy
strong
hand:
for what god is
there
in heaven or in
earth ,
that
can do
according
to
thy
works ,
and according
to
thy
mighty acts?
“
O Lord GOD
, You
have
begun to show Your
greatness and power
to
Your
servant.
For what god in heaven or on
earth can perform
such
works and mighty acts as
Yours
?
Let me go
over ,
I
pray
thee,
and see the good land that
is
beyond the Jordan ,
that goodly
mountain,
and
Lebanon .
Please
let me cross
over and see the good land beyond the Jordan —
that pleasant
hill
country
as
well
as
Lebanon !”
But Jehovah
was wroth
with me for
your
sakes
, and hearkened
not unto
me ;
and
Jehovah
said unto
me ,
Let
it
suffice
thee;
speak no
more
unto
me of
this matter.
But the
LORD
was angry
with me on
account
of
you
, and He
would
not listen
to
me .
“That
is
enough,”
the
LORD
said to
me .
“Do
not
speak to
Me again
about
this matter.
Get
thee
up
unto
the top of Pisgah ,
and lift
up
thine
eyes
westward,
and
northward,
and southward,
and eastward,
and behold
with thine
eyes :
for thou
shalt
not go
over
this Jordan.
Go
to
the top of Pisgah and look
to
the
west
and north
and south
and east.
See
the
land
with your
own
eyes ,
for you
will
not cross
this Jordan.
But charge
Joshua, and
encourage him, and strengthen him ;
for he shall
go
over before
this
people ,
and he
shall
cause
them to inherit the land which
thou
shalt
see.
But commission
Joshua, encourage him, and strengthen him ,
for he will
cross
over ahead
of
the
people and enable
them to inherit the land that
you
will
see. ”
So we abode
in the valley over
against
Beth-peor.
So we stayed
in the valley opposite
Beth-peor.
