Then
Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people :
“
Keep all the commandments
I am
giving
you today
.
Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people ,
saying,
Keep all the commandment
which
I command
you this
day
.
And
on the day you cross
the Jordan into
the land that
the
LORD
your God is
giving
you, set up large
stones and coat
them with plaster .
It
shall
be
on the day when
you shall
pass
over
the Jordan to
the land which
Yahweh
your God gives
you, that
you
shall
set yourself
up great
stones ,
and plaster
them with plaster :
Write on them all the words of this law when you have
crossed
over to enter
the land that
the
LORD
your God is
giving
you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just
as the
LORD
, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
and
you
shall
write on them all the words of this law ,
when you are
passed
over ;
that
you
may
go
in
to the land which
Yahweh
your God gives
you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh
, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
And
when you have
crossed
the Jordan, you are
to
set up these stones on
Mount
Ebal
, as
I am
commanding
you today
, and you are
to
coat
them with plaster.
It
shall
be,
when you are
passed
over
the Jordan, that
you shall
set up these stones, which
I command
you this
day
, in
Mount
Ebal,
and you shall
plaster
them with plaster.
Moreover,
you are
to
build there
an altar to the
LORD
your God, an altar of stones .
You must
not
use
any
iron tool on them.
There
shall
you build an altar to Yahweh
your God, an altar of stones :
you shall
lift
up
no
iron [
tool ]
on them.
You shall build the altar of the
LORD
your God with
uncut stones and offer upon
it
burnt offerings to the
LORD
your God .
You shall build the altar of Yahweh
your God of
uncut stones ;
and you
shall
offer burnt offerings thereon
to Yahweh
your God :
There
you are
to
sacrifice your
peace offerings, eating
them
and rejoicing
in
the
presence
of
the
LORD
your God.
and
you shall
sacrifice peace -
offerings, and shall
eat
there;
and
you
shall
rejoice
before
Yahweh
your God.
And
you shall write distinctly
upon
these
stones all the words of this law. ”
You shall write on
the
stones all the words of this law very
plainly
.
Then
Moses and the Levitical
priests spoke to all Israel :
“Be
silent
, O
Israel
, and listen !
This day you have
become the people of the
LORD
your God.
Moses and the priests the
Levites
spoke to all Israel, saying
, Keep
silence,
and listen ,
Israel:
this day you are
become the people of Yahweh
your God.
You shall therefore obey the voice of the
LORD
your God and follow
His commandments and statutes I am
giving
you today
. ”
You shall therefore obey the voice of Yahweh
your God ,
and do
his commandments and his
statutes ,
which
I command
you this
day
.
On
that
day
Moses commanded
the people :
Moses charged
the people the
same
day,
saying,
“When
you
have
crossed
the
Jordan,
these tribes
shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people ,
when
you
are
passed
over
the
Jordan
: Simeon, and
Levi, and
Judah, and
Issachar, and
Joseph, and Benjamin.
And
these tribes
shall stand on Mount Ebal to
deliver
the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
These shall stand on Mount Ebal for
the curse: Reuben, Gad, and
Asher, and
Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
Then
the Levites shall proclaim
in
a loud voice to
every
Israelite:
The Levites shall answer,
and
tell
all
the
men
of
Israel
with
a loud voice ,
‘
Cursed is
the man who makes a
carved
idol
or molten image —
an abomination to the
LORD
, the work of the hands of a
craftsman —
and sets it up in secret. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
the man who makes an
engraved
or molten image ,
an abomination to Yahweh
, the work of the hands of the
craftsman ,
and sets it up in secret. All the people shall
answer
and
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who dishonors
his father or mother. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who sets
light
by
his father or his
mother. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who moves
his neighbor’s
boundary
stone
. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who removes
his neighbor's
landmark
. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who lets
a
blind man
wander in
the road
. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who makes
the
blind to
wander out
of
the way
. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who withholds
justice from
the foreigner, the
fatherless, or
the
widow. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who wrests
the
justice [due]
to
the foreigner, fatherless, and
widow. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who sleeps
with his father’s
wife, for
he has violated
his father’s
marriage
bed
. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who lies
with his father's
wife, because
he has uncovered
his father's
skirt
. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who lies with any animal. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who lies with any manner
of
animal. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who sleeps
with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who lies
with his sister, the daughter of his father ,
or the daughter of his mother. All the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who sleeps
with his mother-in-law. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he who lies
with his mother-in-law. All the people shall

he who strikes down
his neighbor in secret. ’
And
let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
