King James Version
Then
Moses
and the elders of Israel commanded the people :
“
Keep all the commandments I am
giving
you today
.
And Moses
with
the elders of Israel commanded the people ,
saying,
Keep all the commandments which
I command
you this
day
.
And on the day you
cross
the
Jordan into
the land that
the LORD your
God is
giving
you
, set up large
stones and coat
them with plaster .
And it
shall
be
on the day when
ye
shall
pass
over
Jordan unto
the land which
the LORD thy
God giveth
thee
, that
thou
shalt
set thee
up great
stones ,
and plaster
them with plaster :
Write on
them all the words of this law when you
have
crossed
over to
enter
the land that
the LORD your
God is
giving
you
, a land flowing
with milk and honey ,
just
as the LORD ,
the
God of your
fathers ,
has
promised you
.
And
thou
shalt
write upon
them all the words of this law ,
when thou
art
passed
over ,
that
thou
mayest
go
in
unto
the land which
the LORD thy
God giveth
thee
, a land that
floweth
with milk and honey ;
as the LORD God of thy
fathers hath
promised thee
.
And
when you
have
crossed
the
Jordan, you
are
to
set up these stones on
Mount
Ebal
, as
I am
commanding
you today
, and you
are
to
coat
them with plaster.
Therefore
it
shall
be
when ye
be
gone
over
Jordan, that
ye
shall
set up these stones, which
I command
you this
day
, in
mount
Ebal,
and thou
shalt
plaster
them with plaster.
Moreover,
you
are
to
build
there an altar to
the LORD your
God, an altar of stones .
You
must
not use
any iron tool on
them.
And
there shalt
thou
build
an altar unto
the LORD thy
God, an altar of stones :
thou
shalt
not lift
up
any iron tool upon
them.
You
shall
build the altar of the LORD your
God with
uncut
stones and offer upon
it
burnt offerings to
the LORD your
God .
Thou
shalt
build the altar of the LORD thy
God of
whole
stones :
and thou
shalt
offer burnt offerings thereon
unto
the LORD thy
God :
There
you
are
to
sacrifice
your
peace offerings, eating
them
and rejoicing
in
the
presence
of
the LORD your
God.
And
thou
shalt
offer
peace offerings, and shalt
eat
there,
and
rejoice
before
the LORD thy
God.
And you
shall
write distinctly
upon these
stones all the words of this law. ”
And thou
shalt
write upon the
stones all the words of this law very
plainly
.
Then
Moses and the Levitical
priests spoke
to
all Israel :
“Be
silent
, O
Israel
, and listen!
This day you
have
become the people of the LORD your
God.
And
Moses and the priests the
Levites
spake
unto
all Israel, saying
, Take
heed,
and hearken,
O
Israel;
this day thou
art
become the people of the LORD thy
God.
You
shall
therefore obey the voice of the LORD your
God and follow
His commandments and statutes I am
giving
you
today
. ”
Thou
shalt
therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy
God ,
and do
his commandments and his
statutes ,
which
I command
thee
this
day
.
On
that
day
Moses commanded
the people :
And
Moses charged
the people the
same
day,
saying,
“When
you
have
crossed
the
Jordan,
these tribes
shall stand on
Mount Gerizim to bless the people :
Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin .
These shall stand upon
mount Gerizim to bless the people ,
when
ye
are
come
over
Jordan;
Simeon, and
Levi, and
Judah, and
Issachar, and
Joseph, and Benjamin :
And these tribes
shall stand on
Mount Ebal to deliver
the
curse :
Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
And these shall stand upon
mount Ebal to curse ;
Reuben, Gad, and
Asher, and
Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
Then
the Levites shall proclaim
in
a loud voice to
every
Israelite:
And
the Levites shall speak,
and
say
unto
all
the
men
of
Israel
with
a loud voice ,
‘
Cursed is
the man who
makes
a
carved
idol
or molten image —
an abomination to
the LORD, the work of the hands of a
craftsman —
and sets
it up
in secret. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
the man that
maketh
any
graven
or molten image ,
an abomination unto
the LORD, the work of the hands of the
craftsman ,
and putteth
it in a
secret place
. And all the people shall
answer
and
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
dishonors
his father or mother. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
setteth
light
by
his father or his
mother. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
moves
his neighbor’s
boundary
stone
. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
removeth
his neighbor's
landmark
. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
lets
a
blind man
wander in
the road
. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
maketh
the
blind to
wander out
of
the way
. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
withholds
justice
from
the foreigner,
the fatherless, or
the
widow. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
perverteth
the judgment
of
the stranger,
fatherless, and
widow. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
sleeps
with his father’s
wife ,
for
he has
violated
his father’s
marriage
bed
. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
lieth
with his father's
wife ;
because
he uncovereth
his father's
skirt
. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
lies
with any animal
. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
lieth
with any manner
of
beast
. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
sleeps
with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
lieth
with his sister, the daughter of his father ,
or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
sleeps
with his mother -
in -
law. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
lieth
with his mother in law. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
strikes
down
his neighbor in
secret
. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
smiteth
his neighbor secretly
. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
accepts
a
bribe
to kill
an innocent person. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
taketh
reward
to slay
an innocent person. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
‘
Cursed is
he who
does
not put
the words of this law into
practice
. ’
And let
all the people say, ‘
Amen !’
Cursed be
he that
confirmeth
not all
the words of this law to
do
them
. And all the people shall
say, Amen .
