YLT
Young's Literal Translation
One
afternoon
Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour .
And
Peter and John were going up at
the
same
time
to the temple ,
at the hour of the
prayer, the ninth `
hour ',
And a man who
was
lame from birth
was being carried to
the temple
gate called Beautiful, where
he
was
put
every
day
to beg
from those entering the temple courts.
and a certain
man ,
being
lame from the
womb
of
his
mother,
was being carried ,
whom
they
were
laying
every
day
at
the gate of
the
temple,
called Beautiful, to ask
a
kindness
from those entering into
the temple ,
When
he
saw
Peter and John about to enter
, he
asked
them
for
money
.
who,
having
seen
Peter and John about to go
into
the
temple
, was
begging
to
receive
a
kindness
.
Peter looked directly
at
him ,
as
did
John .
“
Look at
us !”
said
Peter.
And
Peter ,
having
looked stedfastly
toward
him with
John ,
said,
`
Look toward
us ;'
So
the
man
gave
them his
attention
, expecting
to receive something from them .
and
he
was
giving
heed
to
them, looking
to receive something from them ;
But
Peter said, “
Silver or
gold I do
not
have, but what I have I give you:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get
up and walk!”
and
Peter said, `
Silver and
gold I have none
, but what I have ,
that
I give to
thee;
in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise
up and be
walking.'
Taking
him by the right hand, Peter
helped
him up, and at
once
the
man’s
feet and ankles were made
strong.
And
having
seized
him by the right hand, he
raised
`
him '
up, and presently
his
feet and ankles were strengthened,
He
sprang
to
his
feet
and began
to
walk.
Then
he went
with them into the temple courts
, walking and leaping
and praising God .
and springing
up,
he stood,
and
was
walking,
and
did
enter
with them into the temple, walking and springing,
and praising God ;
When
all the people saw him walking and praising God,
and
all the people saw him walking and praising God,
they recognized
him as
the
man
who used
to
sit
begging
at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had
happened to him.
they were
knowing
him also
that
this
it
was
who for
a
kindness
was
sitting
at the Beautiful gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what hath
happened to him.
While
the man clung
to
Peter and John, all the people were
astonished
and
ran to
them in the walkway
called Solomon’s
Colonnade.
And
at
the lame
man who
was
healed
holding
Peter and John, all the people ran together
unto
them in the porch
called Solomon's
--
greatly
amazed,
And when
Peter saw
this
, he
addressed
the people :
“
Men of
Israel
, why are
you
surprised
by
this? Why
do
you
stare
at
us as if by our own power or godliness
we had
made this
man
walk?
and Peter having
seen
, answered
unto
the people ,
`
Men, Israelites!
why wonder
ye
at
this? or
on
us why
look
ye
so
earnestly,
as if by our own power or piety
we have
made him
to
walk?
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has
glorified
His servant
Jesus .
You
handed
Him
over
and rejected
Him before
Pilate, even
though
he had
decided
to release Him .
`
The God of Abraham, and
of
Isaac, and of
Jacob, the God of our fathers, did
glorify
His child
Jesus ,
whom
ye
delivered
up,
and denied
him in
the
presence
of
Pilate, he having
given
judgment
to release `
him ',
You
rejected
the Holy and Righteous One and asked
that
a murderer be released
to you .
and
ye
the Holy and Righteous One did
deny,
and desired
a man
--
a
murderer --
to
be granted
to you ,
You
killed
the Author
of life, but
God raised
Him
from
the dead, and
we are witnesses of
the
fact.
and
the Prince
of the
life ye
did
kill
, whom
God did
raise
out
of
the dead, of
which
we are witnesses ;
By
faith
in
the name
of Jesus
, this man
whom you
see and know
has
been
made strong .
It
is
Jesus’
name
and
the faith that comes
through Him that
has
given
him this complete
healing
in
your
presence
.
and
on
the faith
of his
name
, this one
whom ye
see and have
known,
his
name
made strong ,
even
the faith that `is'
through him did
give
to
him this perfect
soundness
before
you
all
.
And now, brothers
, I know
that you
acted
in
ignorance, as did
your leaders.
`
And now, brethren
, I have
known
that through
ignorance ye
did
`it'
, as also
your rulers;
But
in
this
way
God has
fulfilled
what He foretold
through all
the prophets, saying
that His
Christ would
suffer .
and
God ,
what things
before
He had
declared
through the mouth
of
all
His
prophets, that the
Christ should
suffer ,
He
did
thus
fulfil;
Repent
, then
, and turn back, so
that
your sins may be
wiped
away
,
reform
ye
, therefore
, and turn back, for
your sins being
blotted
out,
that
times
of
refreshing
may come
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord
,
that
times
of
refreshing
may
come
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord,
and that
He may send Jesus ,
the
Christ ,
who has
been appointed
for
you .
and He may send Jesus Christ who before
hath
been preached
to
you ,
Heaven must
take
Him
in
until
the
time
comes
for
the
restoration
of all things, which God announced
long
ago
through His holy prophets.
whom
it
behoveth
heaven ,
indeed,
to
receive
till
times
of a
restitution
of
all things, of
which God spake
through the
mouth
of
all
His holy prophets from
the
age
.
For Moses said
, ‘
The Lord your God will
raise up for
you
a
prophet
like
me
from
among
your brothers.
You
must
listen
to Him in everything
He tells
you .
`
For Moses, indeed,
unto
the fathers
said
--
A
prophet
to
you
shall
the
Lord your God raise up out
of
your brethren,
like
to me;
him shall
ye
hear
in all
things,
as
many
as
he may
speak
unto
you ;
Everyone
who
does
not listen
to
Him
will
be completely
cut
off
from
among
his
people .’
and
it
shall
be,
every
soul
that
may
not hear
that
prophet
shall
be utterly
destroyed
out
of
the
people ;
Indeed,
all the prophets from Samuel on
, as many as have
spoken
, have
proclaimed
these days.
and
also
all the prophets from Samuel and
those
following
in
order
, as many as spake
, did
also
foretell
of
these days.
And
you
are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with
your
fathers when
He
said
to
Abraham
, ‘Through
your
offspring
all the families of the earth will
be
blessed.’
`Ye
are sons of the prophets ,
and of the covenant that
God made unto
our
fathers, saying
unto
Abraham:
And
in
thy
seed
shall
be
blessed
all the families of the earth ;
When
God raised up His Servant
, He
sent
Him first
to
you
to
bless
you by
turning each
of you
from your wicked
ways. ”
to
you
first,
God ,
having
raised up His child
Jesus
, did
send
him ,
blessing
you ,
in
the
turning away
of each
one
from your evil
ways. '
