One
afternoon
Peter and John were going up to
the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Peter and John were going up into
the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
And
a man who was lame from birth
was being carried to
the temple gate
called Beautiful, where
he
was
put
every
day
to beg
from
those entering
the temple courts
.
A certain
man who was lame from his
mother's
womb
was being carried ,
whom
they
laid
daily
at
the door
of
the
temple which
is
called Beautiful, to ask
gifts
for
the
needy
of
those who
entered
into
the temple.
When
he
saw
Peter and John about to enter
, he asked them
for money
.
Seeing
Peter and John about to go
into
the
temple
, he asked to
receive
gifts
for the
needy
.
Peter looked
directly
at
him, as
did
John .
“
Look at us !”
said
Peter
.
Peter ,
fastening
his
eyes
on
him, with
John ,
said,
"
Look at us. "
So
the
man
gave
them his
attention
, expecting to receive something from them.
He
listened
to
them, expecting to receive something from them.
But Peter said, “
Silver or
gold I
do
not
have, but what I have I give you :
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk! ”
But Peter said, "
Silver and
gold have I
none
, but what I have ,
that
I give you .
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk! "
Taking
him by the right hand, Peter
helped
him up ,
and
at
once
the
man’s
feet and ankles
were
made
strong
.
He
took
him by the right hand, and
raised
him up .
Immediately
his
feet and his
ankle
bones
received
strength
.
He sprang
to
his
feet
and began to walk. Then
he went
with them into the temple courts
, walking and
leaping and praising God.
Leaping
up,
he stood,
and began to walk. He entered
with them into the temple, walking ,
leaping ,
and praising God.
When
all the people saw him walking and praising God ,
All the people saw him walking and praising God .
they recognized him as
the
man
who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple ,
and
they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
They recognized him ,
that
it
was
he
who used to sit begging for
gifts
for
the
needy
at the Beautiful Gate of the temple .
They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
While
the man clung
to Peter and John, all the people were
astonished
and
ran to them in the walkway
called Solomon’s
Colonnade
.
As
the lame
man who
was
healed
held
on
to Peter and John, all the people ran together
to them in the porch
that
is
called Solomon's,
greatly
wondering
.
And
when Peter saw this
, he addressed
the people :
“
Men of Israel, why are
you surprised
by
this? Why do you stare
at
us as if
by our own power or godliness we had made this
man
walk?
When Peter saw it
, he responded
to
the people ,
"You
men of Israel, why do
you marvel
at
this man
? Why do you fasten
your
eyes
on
us ,
as though
by our own power or godliness we had made him
walk?
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus .
You handed
Him
over
and rejected
Him
before
Pilate, even
though
he had decided
to release Him.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Servant Jesus ,
whom
you delivered
up,
and denied
in
the
presence
of
Pilate, when
he had determined
to release him.
You rejected
the Holy and Righteous One and asked that
a murderer be released
to you .
But
you denied
the Holy and Righteous One ,
and asked for
a murderer to
be granted
to you ,
You
killed the Author
of life, but
God raised Him
from the dead, and
we are witnesses of
the
fact
.
and
killed the Prince
of life, whom
God raised from the dead, to
which
we are witnesses.
By faith in the
name of
Jesus,
this man whom you see and know has
been
made
strong
. It
is
Jesus’
name
and
the faith that
comes
through Him that
has given him this complete
healing
in your
presence.
By faith in his
name has
his
name
made
this man strong,
whom you see and know. Yes,
the faith which
is
through him has given him this perfect
soundness
in the
presence of
you
all
.
And
now, brothers, I know that you acted
in ignorance, as did your leaders
.
"
Now, brothers, I know that you did
this
in ignorance, as did also
your rulers
.
But in
this
way
God has
fulfilled
what
He
foretold
through
all
the prophets, saying
that His
Christ would
suffer.
But the
things
which
God announced
by
the mouth
of
all
his
prophets, that Christ should
suffer ,
he
thus
fulfilled
.
Repent ,
then
, and turn back
, so
that your sins may be wiped
away
,
"
Repent therefore
, and turn again
, that your sins may be blotted
out
, so
that
there
may
come
times
of
refreshing
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord,
that
times
of
refreshing
may
come
from
the
presence
of
the
Lord,
and that He may send Jesus,
the
Christ, who has
been
appointed
for you .
and that he may send Christ Jesus
, who was
ordained
for you before,
Heaven must take
Him
in
until the time
comes
for
the
restoration of all things, which God announced
long ago through
His holy prophets.
whom
heaven must receive
until the times
of
restoration of all things, which God spoke
long ago by
the
mouth
of
his holy prophets.
For Moses said, ‘
The Lord your
God will raise up for
you
a prophet like
me
from among your brothers. You must
listen to Him in everything
He tells
you.
For Moses indeed
said to
the
fathers
, '
The Lord God will raise up a prophet for
you
from among your brothers ,
like
me
. You shall
listen to him in all
things
whatever
he says
to
you.
Everyone
who
does
not listen to Him
will be completely
cut
off
from among his
people. ’
It
will
be,
that
every
soul
that
will
not listen to that
prophet
will be utterly
destroyed
from among the
people. '
Indeed
, all the prophets from Samuel on
, as many as have spoken, have
proclaimed
these days.
Yes
, and
all the prophets from Samuel and
those
who
followed
after
, as many as have spoken, they
also
told
of
these days.
And
you are sons
of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your
fathers when
He
said
to Abraham, ‘Through
your offspring
all the families of the earth will
be blessed. ’
You are the
children
of the prophets ,
and of the covenant which
God made with our
fathers ,
saying
to Abraham, 'In
your seed
will
all the families of the earth be blessed. '
When
God raised up His Servant, He
sent Him first
to you to bless you by
turning each
of you from your wicked
ways
. ”
God ,
having
raised up his servant, Jesus,
sent him to you first,
to bless you ,
in
turning away
everyone
of you from your wickedness
. "
